Enjoyed our tour. The tour guide was knowledgeable and very helpful with taking pictures. The tour was quite a bit of money with the temple pass not included.
Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that our guide was knowledgeable and helpful, especially with taking photos. I wanted to visit Siem Reap and Angkor Wat but didn’t have enough time in Cambodia for an overnight stay, so I booked this day tour from Phnom Penh. The day was long — it started with a tuk-tuk pickup at my hotel at 4:30 am and ended when I finally got back to Phnom Penh around 9:30–10 pm. Unfortunately, the morning didn’t go smoothly. The minivan I was supposed to take at 5 am was out of service, so I had to wait for the next one at 6 am and lost an hour. Thankfully, the driver made up good time and got us to Siem Reap at 11:30 am, 30 minutes earlier than planned. My guide, Tola (aka Mr. T), met me shortly after arrival and sincerely apologized, explaining it was the partner company’s fault, not his. Once we met, we dove into the tour: 2 hours at Angkor Wat, lunch, 1 hour at Ta Prohm, and 1 hour at Bayon Temple before I had to catch the return bus. Even though the day felt a bit rushed because of the lost morning time, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Tola more than made up for everything with his excellent guiding, great photo and video captures, covering my beer expense during lunch, and a wonderful surprise at the end — he upgraded my return bus to a first-class luxury coach at his own expense. All in all, it was a wonderful day. A big thank you to Tola and his driver for going above and beyond to make my experience great! If you’re short on time in Cambodia but still want to see Siem Reap and Angkor Wat in one day from Phnom Penh, I highly recommend this tour. The van issue I had was apparently rare, so you can expect smooth round-trip transportation and an outstanding guide who takes fantastic photos and videos while knowing how to show you the must-see sites.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your experience. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the unexpected van issue that morning. While this situation was very unusual, we sincerely apologize again for the inconvenience and the delayed departure from Phnom Penh. We’re especially happy to hear that despite the early setback, you still had a wonderful time exploring Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, and Bayon Temple with Tola (Mr. T). He takes great pride in creating memorable experiences for our guests, and your kind words about his guiding, photography skills, hospitality, and thoughtful upgrade to the luxury coach will mean a lot to him and his driver. A one-day trip from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap is certainly a long adventure, so we’re delighted that the experience was still enjoyable and worthwhile for you. Thank you again for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to Cambodia someday for a longer stay and even more unforgettable experiences! Tola
The actual Angkor Wat experience was wonderful. Getting there not so much. It said we would get back to our hotel at 9pm. It’s now 9pm and we still have over 3 hours left to drive along with a transfer to our hotel. We are not going to be back until well after midnight. Our guide was amazing today and all other parts of the trip were great. The drive was horrible though and not because the actual drive. We expected a long drive. Just not the extra 3 hours combined sitting at the gas station.
Thank you for your honest feedback. We’re very glad to hear that you enjoyed the Angkor Wat experience and that our guide provided excellent service during the tour. We sincerely apologize for the delayed return journey. Unfortunately, there was heavy rain and unusually bad weekend traffic on the way back to Phnom Penh. For everyone’s safety, our driver needed to reduce speed during difficult road conditions. We checked with the driver, and the group departed Siem Reap around 5:00 PM and arrived in Phnom Penh at approximately 11:30 PM. We also understand your frustration regarding the long stops during the trip and truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Your comments are very valuable to us, and we will continue working to improve the travel experience for all guests.
The Angkor wat trip was wonderful. It started out a little rocky…we were picked up by tuk tuk waiting outside our hotel with no sign or anything. Just a prewritten text saying that he was here to pick us up. He took us to the bus stop area where we boarded our actually bus. We weren’t 100% sure we were in the right place until we got on the bus and he confirmed. After that though. The rest of the trip was wonderful. It’s a long drive, 5 hours or so one way, but Angkor wat is worth is. We had Mr T as a guide and he was wonderful. He was friendly, he took great photos for us and even took us the places we needed to go for the souvenirs we wanted!
Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us! We apologize for the confusion during the pickup process at the beginning of the tour. We understand how important clear communication is, especially early in the morning, and we will work on improving this experience for future guests. We’re very happy to hear that the rest of the journey was wonderful and that Angkor Wat was worth the trip. Mr. T will be delighted to know that you appreciated his friendliness, knowledge, photography skills, and assistance with souvenirs. Thank you again for your kind feedback, and we hope to welcome you back to Cambodia someday!
