Itinéraire
Une visite au Mémorial du génocide de Kigali est une expérience forte et émotionnelle. Ici, vous découvrirez le génocide contre les Tutsi de 1994 à travers des expositions, des récits de survivants et des jardins commémoratifs. Le site rend hommage à plus de 250 000 victimes enterrées dans des fosses communes et présente le parcours de résilience et de réconciliation du Rwanda. C’est une visite profondément émouvante qui permet de mieux comprendre l’histoire et la force du pays.
À ce mémorial, nous nous souvenons des dix Casques bleus belges de l'ONU tués au début du génocide de 1994. C’est un endroit calme mais important qui montre le rôle des forces internationales et ajoute du contexte à l’histoire du Rwanda.
Au Mbuga City Walk, nous flânons dans l'une des parties les plus propres et les plus animées de Kigali, en plein centre-ville. Ici, vous verrez un mélange de bâtiments modernes et de maisons plus anciennes, chacune avec sa propre histoire. C’est l’occasion de sentir le rythme de la ville et de voir comment Kigali a grandi au fil du temps. Pour ceux qui aiment magasiner ou soutenir les talents locaux, ce quartier regorge de petites boutiques et de vendeurs vendant de beaux produits d'artisanat artisanal, de mode et Made in Rwanda. Nous nous arrêterons également à la seule et unique signalétique Kigali — parfaite pour prendre une photo et garder un excellent souvenir de votre visite.
Nous nous arrêtons à Elikapeka pour un déjeuner traditionnel rwandais. C'est un endroit confortable où vous pourrez déguster une variété de plats locaux et vous familiariser avec la cuisine rwandaise quotidienne.
Biryogo Car-Free Street est l’endroit où la créativité de Kigali prend vie. Les peintures murales lumineuses, le street art et le bourdonnement de la vie locale en font l’un des endroits les plus excitants de la ville. Nous y allons pour sentir l'énergie, nous connecter avec les gens, et voir un côté de Kigali qui est amusant, coloré et inoubliable
Au Nyamirambo Women’s Center, vous rencontrerez des femmes locales qui mènent des projets communautaires et créent de l’artisanat artisanal. C’est l’occasion de voir leur travail, d’entendre leurs histoires et de soutenir les initiatives des femmes qui autonomisent les familles à Kigali.
Nous terminerons notre visite de la ville par une visite du mont Kigali, l’un des points culminants de la ville.

I had a wonderful day exploring Kigali with Ange, a guide from Iriza Tours. She was warm, insightful, and incredibly attentive to both our interests and comfort throughout the day. Her deep knowledge of Rwandan history, culture, and daily life made every stop meaningful and engaging. We visited the Genocide Memorial. It was a deeply moving and emotional visit — sobering, powerful, and one that stays with you long after. We also visited the memorial for the Belgian paratroopers — a lesser-known but very important site that she made sure we didn’t miss. Lunch was at a lovely African restaurant with excellent local cuisine, and we had time to browse some beautiful art shops showcasing Rwandan creativity and talent. Ange even went the extra mile to recommend a great local spot for my friend to get his hair braided — a small detail that made a big difference in our day. Ange truly made Kigali come alive for us, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a meaningful and well-organized introduction to the city.

I had a very good time in Kigali. My guide Olivier was so helpful and friendly. He explained everything clearly and made the tour fun. I felt safe and comfortable the whole time. We visited many nice places in the city and I learned a lot about the culture and history. Olivier really knows the city well and answered all my questions. Our tour guide Mr Olivier N was awesome He called a day before the tour to introduce himself and gave us an arrival time,he arrived on time We had an amazing tour Mr Olivier was super amazing he understood the assignment and gave us the best time of our lives,as first time travelers,he ensured we were relaxed and comfortable.i was scared to try the zip line but he was an excellent cheerleader and I’m glad I tried it. It didn’t feel like we were on tour with a guide ,it felt like we were out with a family member. He helped us to document and capture every moment.
