Beautiful day with Elia (driver) & Lillian (guide)! Both worked hard to give us the best experience. The bus was clean & modern. A little long at the last border crossing but not their fault. The views & sites were amazing! Thanks for a well planned & enjoyable trip!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that Ilija and Lillian helped make your day so enjoyable. They truly care about providing every guest with the best possible experience, and your kind words will mean a lot to them. We're also pleased that you appreciated our clean, modern Mercedes minibus and the stunning sights along the way. While border crossing delays can occasionally happen and are unfortunately beyond our control, we do everything in our power to make the process as quick and smooth as possible by operating with small groups and setting off early to avoid the busiest times whenever we can. Thank you for choosing to travel with us, and we hope to welcome you again on another of our small-group adventures!
More like a ride to Montenegro than a tour. Guide went on the boat trip and little guidance given for those that didn’t. Walking the group into Kotor and pointing out areas would have been more helpful than just walking to the gates of the old town. We thought it might have been nicer had the tour started in Kotor and then did the other stops on the way back.
Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the tour did not fully meet your expectations. Our Montenegro small-group tour is designed to provide a comfortable and hassle-free experience, including pick-up and drop-off directly from your accommodation, transportation in brand-new Mercedes vehicles, and faster border crossings thanks to the smaller group size. Throughout the journey, a guide accompanies the group and provides information about the destinations, while an audio guide is included for independent exploration in Kotor and other stops. The itinerary, including the optional boat trip and free time in Kotor, is presented in advance and was carried out as described. We understand that some guests prefer more guided walking tours within the old town itself, and we appreciate your suggestion regarding additional orientation in Kotor. We will certainly take your comments into consideration as we continue improving the experience. For guests who prefer a fully customized itinerary and the undivided attention of a dedicated guide throughout the day, we also offer private tours. These provide greater flexibility in the schedule, destinations, and pace of travel, allowing for a more personalized experience tailored to individual interests. Thank you for traveling with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on another of our tours in the future.
Save yourself time by doing this tour or any other small group tour. Small group tours avoid the tour bus entry as there are only two entries into Montenegro ( I did hear about a ferry based entry that was supposed to be decent too while on tour - so check that out as well ) Coming back to the tour - small group allows you to enjoy perast and the bay of kotor much better IMO. Stick to start times and don’t delay the group as those few minutes of getting to border is critical ! Eana our guide provided useful information and helped us with border crossings ( biggest value ) One comment to tour operator, please clearly mention in the itinerary that the return drop off will not be near pile gate as access is limited during return. Making people walk in the heat with their bags is no fun to end the journey and is likely causing you to lose some stars and your guide and driver some tips here. Second to the guide - find a better drop off location for pile gate. I took the tour to Bosnia and they were able to drop folks off in Hilton imperial area which was only a minute away . Asking folks to take uber from drop off is no bueno for the traveler. Overall, recommend the tour.
Thank you for your detailed review and recommendation. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the benefits of traveling in a small group and that Eana's assistance and information throughout the day added value to your experience. As you mentioned, smaller groups often benefit from significantly faster border crossings, allowing more time to enjoy destinations such as Perast and the Bay of Kotor. Regarding the drop-off location, we completely understand your concerns. However, due to Dubrovnik's traffic regulations, it is illegal for tourist vehicles to enter the Old Town area and the Pile Gate zone during the afternoon and evening hours. For this reason, we are unable to provide drop-offs closer to Pile Gate at the end of the tour. This information is also clearly stated in the booking confirmation sent prior to departure. To minimize inconvenience, we drop guests approximately a 10-minute walk from Pile Gate, usually around 6:00 PM when temperatures are considerably lower than during the hottest part of the day. While we always try to get guests as close as legally possible to their accommodation or requested area, we must comply with local traffic restrictions that apply to all tour operators. We are aware that some companies choose to stop or drop off passengers closer to Pile Gate. However, these practices are not permitted under the current traffic regulations, and we believe it is important to operate responsibly and in full compliance with local laws, even when this may occasionally be less convenient. In this way, we support sustainable tourism that does not choke out the local traffic and disturb local bus lines. We appreciate your understanding and your feedback, which helps us continue improving how we communicate these details to future guests. Thank you again for traveling with us, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure soon.
Lili is best guide ever! Great itinerary, small group, well organizer. Safe driver, great amount of free time.
Dear Scott, Thank you for your fantastic review! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the itinerary, small-group experience, free time, and safe, comfortable journey. Lili will be thrilled to hear your kind words. We appreciate you choosing Amico Tours and hope to welcome you back soon. Don't forget, returning guests receive 10% off every second tour!
We were picked up at our hotel. Company sent a messangers to alert us they were running late due to a mix up at a hotel pick prior to ours. Very much appreciated that andnit shows good customer service. Trip was great and Guide offered inormation throughout the trip. Bus seats were tight and a bit uncomfortable. Overall we enjoyed it.
Thank you for your review and for choosing to travel with us. We're glad you appreciated the communication regarding the pickup delay and that you enjoyed the trip and the information provided by our guide. We also appreciate your feedback about the seating comfort. Our fleet consists of top-of-the-line minibuses and vehicles, including brand-new Mercedes Sprinters, and from 2026 we have implemented a policy of renewing our minibuses every year to ensure the highest possible standards for our guests. That said, guest feedback is extremely valuable to us, and we will certainly take your comments into consideration as we continue to improve our service. Thank you again for traveling with us, and we hope to welcome you on another tour in the future.
Lillian was a fantastic guide! She was funny and incredibly informative. The tour was the perfect amount of time and felt truly worth the money.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that you had such a great experience with Ljiljana. Her enthusiasm, sense of humor, and passion for sharing local knowledge make every tour special, and we're delighted that this came through during your visit. It's also fantastic to know that you found the tour to be well-paced and good value for money. We truly appreciate your kind words and will be sure to pass along your compliments to Ljiljana. Thank you for choosing to tour with us, and we hope to welcome you back again in the future!
We were picked up on time and travelled to the boarder. We were relieved we had chosen the small group tour as each person is processed individually at the boarder so he larger your group the longer it takes. The crossing for us took around 20 minutes. Montenegro was so picturesque. We visited Perast first for around an hour and then on to Kotar for 3 hours. We also had a couple of quick photo stops during the day. Our guide was informative as we drove from place to place but allowed us free time when exploring both towns. We really enjoyed our day and would recommend a visit to Montenegro.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your day exploring Montenegro and that the tour ran smoothly from start to finish. Perast and Kotor are truly special destinations, and we're glad you had enough time to discover their beauty at your own pace while also benefiting from your guide's insights along the way. It's also great to hear that the small-group format and well-planned itinerary helped make the border crossing and overall experience more comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you for your recommendation. We appreciate you choosing to travel with us and hope to welcome you on another adventure in the future.
The guide and driver were very friendly and helpful, and it was nice to have a small and amiable group. The trip itself was underwhelming. Compared to Mostar, there wasn't really much different in either Kotor and Perast that was worth the money and the 2.5-3 hour drive each way. We probably would have been better off spending another day in Dubrovnik.
Thank you for your feedback and for the kind words about our guide, driver, and the small group atmosphere. We’re very glad to hear you felt well looked after during the trip. We understand that destinations can be a matter of personal preference, and while many guests are fascinated by the different history, culture, architecture, and scenery of Kotor and Perast, we appreciate that not every location connects the same way with every traveler. As described in the tour itinerary, the experience includes a full-day excursion with scenic coastal driving, guided information, free time in both towns, and a small-group format — all of which were delivered as promised during your tour. We still appreciate you joining us and sharing your perspective, and we’re happy to hear the service provided by our team left a positive impression.
Lovely place to visit our tour guide was knowledgeable. This tour is a lot of driving around for the 1st couple of parts. One problem with the tour that can’t be helped is border control it takes time to go through the borders, be g a minivan it was much quicker than a large coach
Thank you for your lovely review. We’re very happy to hear you enjoyed the places visited and found the guide knowledgeable and informative throughout the tour. As you mentioned, border control procedures can sometimes affect the overall duration of the trip. During busy periods and with the newer border regulations, waiting times can occasionally be longer than usual. Fortunately, traveling by minivan is typically much faster and more comfortable compared to larger coaches. We also want to note that these longer delays are not typical for our tours and happened because of Bank Holiday, especially busy travel day and traffic periods. Thank you again for your understanding, and we hope to welcome you on another tour in the future!
Overall the topic and structure of the tour were fine but we had a number of issues. Starting with our signing up for a tour in English which wound up being a bi-lingual tour. In Perast there were problems both finding the boat to Our Lady of the Rocks and waiting for the return boat. There was really no information regarding visiting Perast itself. All we could see from the dock area were places such as souvenir shops and an ice cream stand. Then we headed to Kotor where we would be spending approximately three hours. The tour description said there’d be an audio walking tour for Kotor but there was nothing. Our guide named a handful of places on a map and gave us the time we should return to the van. Finally, we were told that we’d be dropped off where we started, which would have been fine except we were dropped off 20 minutes from the starting point needing to go down over 200 steps to get there. Tour, therefore, was disappointing. Do want to note the driver was excellent.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you found the overall structure of the tour good and that you appreciated our driver. We would, however, like to clarify a few points for future guests reading your review: Our tours are conducted in English, but our guides also speak additional languages and may occasionally assist other passengers briefly in their own language when needed. The tour itself is not operated as a bilingual tour, but we do however, offer free Audioguides for ESP, PT, ITA, GER or FR speakers. Perast is a small historic village intended for independent exploration during free time. Many guests enjoy walking through its streets, waterfront, churches, and viewpoints beyond the dock area. The audio guide for Kotor was provided via link in the message sent before the tour. Unfortunately, it seems this may have been missed. Due to special traffic regulations in Dubrovnik Old Town, vehicles are not permitted to enter certain areas in the afternoon. All tours, therefore, use the designated drop-off point outside the restricted area, as communicated in advance. You seem to have missed this information as well (all printed on the ticket and in your direct messaging; please have a look) All of this information was shared prior to the tour, and we kindly encourage guests to review the messages and instructions sent before departure to ensure the smoothest experience possible. We still appreciate your feedback and are happy you enjoyed the driving portion of the tour.
