Champagne-Reims trip

Host/driver Laurent was excellent in meeting, directing & speaking to us on the whole trip, that was very interesting and well organised. Visiting a traditional family champagnery, to the largest in the province, that had robotics. The six champagne tastings, garden lunch & tour of Reims Cathedral was exquisite. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Day Trip from Paris in the Champagne Region!

I had a fantastic day in a small group tour. Our guide, Antienne from Blue Fox Travel was excellent. He really made the time enjoyable and was very knowledgeable about the region, Champagne making and France in general! The tour was well paced with a trip to Reims for a little bit of history and trips to a large champagne producer as well as a small family producer with tastings at both. This trip is very enjoyable even if you are not a big champagne drinker.

Great way to visit and learn about champagne

What a treat to see how champagne is made from an individual winery to a cooperative. The tastings were very good, and the knowledge gained was invaluable

Wonderful tour!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the champagne tasting tour. Our tour guide was very informative and kind! It was very interesting seeing and learning about the champagne making process at a small champagne house and then the juxtaposition of a much larger champagne house. Champagne was delicious! Also, the Notre Dame Cathedral of Reims was amazing!

Wonderful

It was wonderful. More than we expected and my wife and I now have a whole new respect for champagne and how it's processed.

Great day out!

A wonderful day! Carlisle (sorry not sure if I have spelt correctly, I was on the June 7 tour) was an amazing guide, reliable, friendly and fun! I felt very safe with him navigating the crazy Parisian traffic on the way in and out, he kept us on schedule, was a wealth of knowledge, took endless photos for us all, and knew where to go and how to get the best angles too! I am not normally one to join organised tours, and after researching a DIY day trip to the Champagne region from Paris in the limited time I had in the city, I decided to let someone else do all the hard work. I'm glad I did - there's no way I would have had the experience I did if I'd DIY'ed. The visits to the champagne houses were great for gaining understanding about the process, and it was interesting to visit both a small and large producer to see what they do similarly, and what they do differently . The day was well paced too, I felt there was enough time at each stop, not too rushed, not too slow. We had a group of 8, which felt just right. Of course, the Champagne was delicious too! The quantities of each tasting were well-considered, generous but not enough that you felt drunk or ill! Worth every euro, and would do it again in a heartbeat.

This was a great day...

This was a great day trip. Our tour guide was wonderful. Plenty of time at each stop and lots of information provided. The first champagne house was a small one and was fantastic. The second was more like a factory, and the champagne was not good. I gave this 4 stars only because of the second house. The rest of the day was fabulous.

Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re very happy to hear you enjoyed your day and the experience with our guide. The goal of this tour is to show the reality of the Champagne-making process, which is why we include both a large producer and a small, family-run winery to give a balanced and authentic perspective of the region. Kind regards, - Alice

Just meh

This is my third tour with this company and full disclosure I loved our Versalles Bike and Giverny tours. I had high hopes for this tour but unfortunately I cant really recommend it. If you want to tour champagne I recommend doing a private tour maybe with one stop to a famous champagne house like a Moet Chandon. This tour felt unnecessarily long and dragged out and to be honest kind of boring. It didn’t help that our guide seemed generally clueless and was not engaging and his story telling could definitely use improvement. They stopped by the cathedral in Rems which on sunday does service so you cant even walk around and see it (or see the stained glass by Chagal which is the big sell) would have been nice to know. We were then taken to a boulangerie to get a snack (not to drink champagne on an empty stomach) and the good one had a line (because again its sunday) so we were then taken to some chain one that sucked and honestly we waited just as long there so nothing was really saved time wise. We stopped by the grave of Dom Perrignon which was cool. Finally we were brought to the first smaller champagne house, given a mini tour which was fine but again our guide was kinda meh so not overly entertaining. Had some champagne, none of which was particularly tasty but the last glass was especially awful and smelled and tasted like cheap whisky. Also the sommelier seemed to have better things to do than serve us champagne and our guide had to eventually take over because it was taking too long. Oh they also just put a bunch of papers on the table and basically said if u want to learn more just read here (instead of doing a proper degustation). We were then take to a spot by the grapevines to take pics which again fine nothing special, but we spent like 20min there for no reason. Then to town for lunch, the food was awful. Woulda been better if they took us to a market to grab some picnic stuff. Also we should have been given time to go down champagne street where all the famous champagne houses are but we just drove down the street instead. Finally went to a bigger champagne house where we got yet another tour which was unnecessarily long, and which pretty much told us everything we already knew from the smaller tour like why do we need to know all this twice? Finally they did another tasting. Also stretched out too long but kinda rushed bc we had to leave and they served the best champagne at the end but no one had time or desire to finish bc we already drank too much of the crappier one and it was time to go. Then despite the fact that it took 1.5hrs to get to champagne it somehow took almost 3 to get back. At €260 euro per person, save your money and just go do some champagne and caviar tasting somewhere locally or do a private tour and tour one special champagne house. All the other stuff was unnecessary. Oh the guide also announced that you can leave him tips if you liked the tour but that it was not required. Yes sir tips are not required. The two guides i had on other tours never even said the word tip. A good guide doesnt have to ask.
