We were so disappointed with this experience. The Itinerary was not as advertised as we did not visit the Notre Dame Cathedral of Reims and the champagne house was substituted as well. Our group of 8 was a mix of 4 English speakers and 4 German speakers so I am unsure how the guide was to give commentary during the tour. Essentially during the 2 hour commute from Paris to Reims, he mentioned our toilet break at the 1 hour mark but nothing about champagne, the tour, the history, the landscape....silence. It was so awkward. The guided tour at GH Mumm was nice, although not the expected champagne house on the Itinerary. Our guide there was engaging, knowledgeable and the tour with tasting was very pleasant. Next was lunch in Reims. Our driver dropped us in the town center with no recommendations just a time to meet him back at the van after we had eaten. We made 2 additional non-memorable stops. Both felt rushed with no guidance or commentary. The driver spent much of his time looking at his phone waiting for our time to move on. I would consider this "time spent in the champagne region" but to call it a guided tour is a stretch. You could Uber there for a similar experience.
Dear Kimberly, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are sincerely sorry to learn that this excursion did not meet your expectations. We understand your disappointment regarding the modifications to the itinerary and the level of commentary provided during the day. While operational constraints may occasionally require adjustments to certain visits or champagne houses, these changes are always made with the aim of maintaining the quality of the experience. We regret that the substitutions and the organization of the tour did not provide the experience you were expecting. We are nevertheless pleased to read that you enjoyed the visit and tasting at GH Mumm and that you found the guide there engaging and knowledgeable. We will also share your comments regarding the transportation, communication, and overall guidance with the relevant teams, as this is not the level of service we strive to deliver. Please note that experiences such as the one you describe remain exceptional, and the vast majority of our guests highly appreciate our Champagne excursions. Your feedback is valuable and helps us identify areas where improvements may be needed. Should you wish to discuss your experience further, we would be happy to hear from you at info@francetourisme.fr. We hope that despite this disappointment, we may have the opportunity to welcome you again and restore your confidence in our services. For a future visit, you may enjoy our guided excursions to Normandy or the Loire Valley Châteaux, where the historical commentary and guided discoveries are at the heart of the experience. Kind regards, Alice de France Tourisme
Good excursion. Very enjoyable but long - about 12 hours. Price was a bit high. Still would recommend.

The meeting point is on the backside of the Louvre about 10 feet from the metro station. Our guide, Serge, was extremely knowledge and an excellent driver. He also had a great sense of humor. This was an interesting trip and it was nice to be outside of Paris for the day. After visiting the Cathedral at Reims, we had time for lunch on our own and a short walk around town. After that. we visited a Champagne cellar in Reims and then drove out to country side where we visited a fascinating museum about the history of Champagne making. We had tastings in both places. We then had another short drive to an interesting country church where Dom Perignon is buried. Serge provided interesting details at each stop and on the drive back to Paris. The van had two rows of three seats. and although not luxurious was fine as we didn't have anyone in the middle seat. The entire trip took about 11.5 hours.

We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your day trip to Reims, from the stunning cathedral to the Champagne tastings and fascinating countryside sites. 😊 It’s fantastic to know that Serge made the experience even more memorable with his knowledge, humor, and excellent driving. At France Tourisme, we take pride in crafting engaging and enriching tours that allow our guests to discover more than just the main sights. For your next adventure, you might enjoy our Châteaux de la Loire tour to explore the elegance of the French countryside, or a private 3-hour Paris city tour to uncover hidden gems in comfort and style. We look forward to welcoming you again soon! Warm regards, Alice de France Tourisme
Honestly, as someone who is super social I love doing stuff like this on my own when you can expect fun drinking and meet new people, however this was not the experience of this, the title was deceiving. For starters it wasn’t clear where to meet and the facilitator was about 15 minutes late which was annoying. The man who was leading it wasn’t French but man did he want to pretend like he was one of them with an angsty attitude. It was not welcoming. But overall the worst part, was you literally get 3 tiny tastes of champagne for a 6 hour tour and it just isn’t worth it. Save yourself your time and money and just go and drive to champagne yourself, you’ll try more and have better company even if you are alone.
Hello Brittnay, We are very sorry to hear that you had a very bad experience. Wwe tried to find your booking in our system since December 2024 and we didn't find it, so it was probably not with our company France Tourisme. If you want to have a great experience, you can do the excursion with us ! you will enjoy it for sure ! Best regards Alice from France Tourisme
Enjoy this full day in the glorious Reims area .. see the magnificent Reims Cathedral then a full tour of Champagne production followed by tasting the champagnes. So much to learn and Philipe provided so much more additional information.. after lunch we continued on to another exquisite champagne producer and finally to the small village / home to the now deceased monk Dom Perignon who is credited with coming up with the process of champagne production. Highly recommend this! You will enjoy.
Hello Jean, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a great experience in Reims and enjoyed the tour. It’s always a pleasure to share the rich history and craftsmanship of Champagne with our guests, and we’re glad that Philippe could make it even more special with his additional insights. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable visit soon! Thank again for your trust, Have a nice day Alice from France Tourisme
We wished the tour guide did more talking during our road trip to Reims. We felt he did the bare minimum. We enjoyed what we saw and were thankful the transfer back to Laris was seamless.
Brilliant experience in the Champagne and Empernay area. We got to understand the history and tour the area and experience some wonderful champagne. Our host Roland was outstanding and incredibly knowledgeable and interesting (you will be lucky to have him!). The lunch was excellent too.
We were running late on the Paris trains the day we were scheduled (the day before the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, so there was a lot of travel issues in the city). We emailed Viator at 7:30am (following the procedure on our booking info that said to Viator an email and they would contact the tour agent) that we would be at the pick up spot at 8:21. Viator said they emailed the tour conductor. When we arrived we had not heard back anything and contacted Viator who said they had never gotten an email acknowledgement from the tour director. We later saw a What's app text that had been sent to a number we did not have access to at the time, asking if we were planning to come, sent at 7:55. We did the best we could with the information we had to alert them of our slight delay. We would have appreciated at least a partial refund.
Bonjour, thank you for your review. We are sorry to read your experience didn't go as planned and apologize for the miscommunication issue. Our agency is opened during regular business hours, from 9am to 6:30pm so our team couldn't see the email before that time. We however had already communicated our phone number to Viator so that we can be reached in the early morning. We do not understand why they did not try this method instead. When booking with Viator we have access to very little information. Our driver guide tried to contact you by whatsapp with the phone number provided when they saw that you were about to be late. Unfortunately no refund is possible when booking through Viator, but if you contact us directly we can find a way to change the date of your tour so that you can still enjoy it. Again, we are sorry for your experience. We would always recommend booking directly with the tour operator France Tourisme to avoid this kind of situation. Thank you for your understanding. Have a good day, Christophe from France Tourisme
Beautiful views from the lighthouse, through the small towns and then into the cellars. Great day tour from Paris
This was a 1st Class Tour, so many great things to see. Our guide was amazing with his history and informative commentary. He knows all the people along the tour and made the experience well above expectations. Plan accordingly as it is 11-12 hours in total, but well worth it. Champaign Region is maɡˈnifəsənt.
