It was a big day with a tight schedule and Fortune from 1st Zulu Safaris was communicative and responsible. He went the extra mile to accommodate us too.
Thanks for choosing us to host you and hope to host you next time you are in Durban
At Taj Tandoor, a wonderful New Year's Eve party, the atmosphere was tops. Again, we feasted on their tasty dishes. Congratulations to the team for the organization and animation.
Hippos and weaver birds. This trip is not for serious wildlife enthusiasts. The Hippos were close and the Eastern Golden Weaver, but we had to point out the Warthogs and African Fish Eagle to the guides.
Sorry that tour was not to your expectations and we will forward your review to our suppliers to work on fixing these issues
My tour was from Durban and was organized through 1st Zulu Safaris. Benson, the driver there, was very professional, informative and friendly. Great guy! The boat tour on the estuary was great: beautiful scenery and lots of hippos. Sadly, we didn’t see any crocs but apparently that was due to the heat. The boat and staff were excellent.
I was charged twice for this tour. When I originally scheduled I cancelled right away because my travel agent booked for me and I didn’t know. When I saw 5 days before the tour that I was going to be charged again I cancelled and sent an email saying I cancelled a long time ago. I did not receive all my money back.
I am sorry but you have placed the blame on us when it is solely on Viator and yourself. WE DID NOT CHARGE YOU TWICE, IT IS NO UP TO US. YOU BOOK AND VIATOR CONFIRMS! WE HAVE NO POWER TO CHARGE SOMEONE. If you booked twice then thats on you. Please contact us directly to resolve the issue. info@zulusafaris.com It is very sad that you rush off to write a review when you could of contacted us before hand. It is not POSSIBLE for a supplier to charge twice as we DO NOT the have power to charge. The tourist books on the system and then viator confirms. We in NO WAY charged you twice, it is an error on your part.
After we were on a 4X4 Land Safari we thought iy would be interesting to do a Boat Safari. This was an GREAT IDEA because we saw a lot of crocs, all different kinds of birds and Water Buffalos. The Guide made this a wonderful experience. He also gave us a lot of time to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Private tour for my wife and I. Driver Visit was great, Gave us a lot of local color. Animals were not very cooperative for viewing on river boat. As a result, driver on his own took us to other viewing areas which were great
Book the tour with the 1st Zulu Safaries company via tripadvisor. 2 days prior they messaged me that they wanted to upgrade us to a safari tour not to take us to St Lucia. That's when I should have cancelled the booking because the tour guide we ended up with was a lovely a bubbly person, but with very limited knowledge. She was honest and upfront about it as she disclosed as soon as we met that she was a trainee tour guide. By then it was too late to cancel and book another tour. It was the fault and greed of her company to agree to a tour that they did not have staff for. The hyppo viewing boat ride was excellent, we saw a number of hyppo families and took good photos. that said I don't think the 1.5-2 hour boat ride was worth the 5.5 hours travel in the car especially when we did to learn much during the drive. The guide wasn't told the departure times of the viewing boat so we had to kill an hour in a St Lucia supermarket, which was a complete waste of our time. Following the boat ride we were taken to a crocodile park, which was uneventful and boring. Due to a complete lack of planning by the tour providers we missed the morning's crocodile show - when we had to kill time in St Lucia. This tour, run by 1st Zulu Safaris, was disorganised, I felt it was disrespectful to send a trainee tour guide with her trainee's knowledge and experience on her own and that, due to the company's carelessness, we could not get the most of our time and money spent. I would pick tours run by another company.
We saw lots of Hippo pods including young ones. We also saw some crocodiles and one bull shark. Lots of birds to view. The trip lasted 2.5 hours and the boat captain was very professional. Sometimes the passengers would shout out their findings and the captain would steer the boat to accommodate us. The boat was full - top and bottom. We all had a great time. Plenty of pictures to post and share a bit later. If you want to have a fun evening on the water, sign up for this cruise.
Took an evening cruise down the St. Lucia Estuary very cold but beautiful sunset. Didn't see any gators or crocs but plenty of hippos. An experience too see so take the trip if you want too.
