Our guide Macdara was very nice, funny, and approachable. The trip was pleasant and enriching in terms of information. I asked a question about the Sack of Baltimore and I got a great story in return from our guide. Thank you for this beautiful day! I recommend this agency to you, the staff is very friendly and very punctual!
Richie and Pete were awesome!! Great history of Ireland and driving!!
This was great! Easy process and our guide, Brian, was lovely! Very knowledgeable and funny and kind, cared about us as his guests and was helpful in every way he could be on top of driving safely! It was rainy and wet and a bit cold but was still an amazing day with great views and drives.
My guided tour of the beautiful Connemara region was superb and thoroughly enjoyable in all respects. As a professional historian and avid traveler with a strong interest and passion for Irish history, culture and language, this incredible day in Seamus’ bus was the highlight of my July 2026 visit to Ireland. I have studied Irish language and history in depth for years, and one of my primary goals for my stay was to experience the Gaeltacht and Connemara region in a vivid, memorable and enjoyable way. This fascinating eight-hour exploration of the rich history, landscape and culture of Connemara excelled in all respects. Seamus is a most friendly, enthusiastic and charismatic tour guide and driver. From the very beginning of our tour, he captivated the group with entertaining, humorous and educational stories and anecdotes of the long, rich Celtic history of this stunning region. My hopes for the tour were excelled in every way – there was never a dull moment on the tour, as Seamus engaged us with valuable and insightful historical, cultural, and geographic information throughout the day. I learned fascinating information on the folklore of the region, important historical connections between Connemara, Europe and the wider world, and the traditional beliefs, ways of life and forms of ecological, agricultural, and social sustenance of the region’s resilient people. Not only did I have the privilege of visiting breathtaking villages, landscapes, national parks, coastal ways and rugged mountains, thanks to Seamus I learned a significant amount about all of them. I had the opportunity to practice my Irish language skills with both Seamus and friendly local people and merchants. The highlight of the tour were two free hours to hike the spectacular coastal region of Connemara National Park. I had a very enjoyable and physically rigorous hike to the top of the Red Diamond hiking trail, which provided breathtaking views of the surrounding region, valleys, towns and dramatic Atlantic coast. It was most enjoyable to visit an interactive sheep farm, bog and peat area, Ireland’s fjords, and Irish-speaking towns. Thanks to this tour, I am eager to return to Connemara in the future, and to stay deep in the heartland of the Gaeltacht. Seamus is one of the best tour guides and drivers I have had the honor of experiencing a full summer’s day with, in one of my most beloved countries. He is a perfect gentleman, witty and helpful, and this day will be a highlight of an intensive two-month tour of Europe. Seamus is an excellent, engaged and mindful driver, taking a large and varied group through the unique geography, mountain twists and turns of Ireland’s rugged west coast; he can effortlessly multi-task by not only driving well and safely, but also remaining engaged with diverse questions and interests, and through entertaining and informing myself and many others with hours of stories, historical triumphs and tragedies, and practical tips and advice on what to see and do in the Connemara and Galway regions. Highly recommended and a well-deserved A+++! Go raith math agat, a cara Seamus!
We did the Connemara tour on Monday, 13 July 2026. Seamus was our tour guide. He was great, informative and very good driver. We really enjoyed the tour
Loved localised and personalised bus narrative
A great day trip to Connemara National Park and some additional stops. Our guide Sheamus was very entertaining and informative. The stop at the national park is a bit too short to reach the summit of the mountain, but there are already beautiful views before that.
Gerry was an excellent guide. The park itself was wonderful and worth doing the Yellow trail (medium) with enough time to get some food. The other stops along the way were all very enjoyable to see and to photograph. But, something else happened. The day after the tour, I discovered my high-end binoculars was missing. I waited until their business hours to call. A lady staff answered and patiently noted the details. She was able to find my reservation and locate the bus. In less than an hour they had located the equipment and I was able to collect it from their Eire Sq office soon after that. Kudos to the Lally team for being sensitive and efficient. ***** excellence!
I had a great day trip from Galway to Connemara National Park and Diamond Hill Full Day Tour with Lally Tours. It was a fun experience and comfortable tour, the guide and bus driver Seamus is very friendly, informative and considerate. I highly recommend the tour if anyone is visiting Galway.
Eoin was great and had thorough knowledge of the whole countryside, stories of growing up and plenty of jokes to ride along to. Not a boring tour and got to see/experience plenty.
