Excursion d'une journée de Galway au parc national du Connemara

Great opportunity to discover Connemara and to couple the excursion with a good-level hike (red circuit)

Exactly what I expected from this solo day: an interesting excursion thanks to the driver/guide Bosco coupled with a beautiful hike (red version in 1:45, good physical condition necessary!)

Nice round trips with sufficiently long and enough stops. The time in the park is enough for the blue loop.

What a great day out! Shane was a great tour guide and safe driver. The locations and scenery are spectacular. I did the hike up and over Diamond Hill. At a good trot on the red trail, 45 minutes to the top, the same back down the other side. Make sure you remember where to re-pick up bus at the national park trail area. Confusing location to find. Also, don't fall down the rocky steps, it hurts.

Our travel guide Sean made the whole trip worthwhile. He told us the entire history of Ireland in the most entertaining way. Just listening to him was worth the price.It doesn’t matter whether it’s rain or shine, the trip was worth it. Even in the rain, Conamara was beautiful, as was Kylemore Abby It was pouring rain all day and we had the best time!

The tour guide was also the bus driver. He was unable to do both at once very well. He repeated himself and paused in a stuttering type manner. He would speak of things coming up along the way but did not accurately point them out because he was too focused on driving. He was a pleasant man but not a good guide. We struggled to hear him as the microphone seemed to move around as he was turning his head to drive. The Conmerra park was beautiful...the park center food was just ok...we walked into the nearby town center and enjoyed a farm fresh salad and prawn sandwich. The bus was comfortable...my partner and I were unable to sit with one another because some single travelers each sat by themselves. Couldn't they be asked to sit together since they were alone anyhow? Little things like that can really make a difference.

Our guide Goose was great! He was full of knowledge and was delightful. I had a great time even though the weather was not in cooperation with me being able to do the hike on the mountain.

This trip did not include enough to be worth the drive from Galway. If I had driven myself, I would have spent a little more time and gotten a lot more out of the drive. The weather wasn't fantastic, but that is to be expected in Western Ireland. AllTrails said the hike to the top of Diamond hill is 2.5hrs (not including pictures) and we were given 2.5 hours at the location (including bathroom breaks and lunch). It would have been much better if we had enough time to hike to the top of the mountain - but perhaps only marginally so because of the cloud cover. Fog may have even made the hike dangerous. The partial hike around Diamond hill was cool, but it wasn't worth the 4 hours of driving. The museum about the bogs of Ireland was small, but decent. If there was more added to the tour - enough time to hike the mountain or maybe a visit to the abbey along with the hike, it may have been worth it, but not just for a partial, self-directed, diamond hill hike. We would have been better off driving ourselves.

Great trip from Galway, spectacular country and Gerry was an excellent guide, full of local knowledge

We had a wonderful day-trip with Richie to Connemara. Richie is very helpful and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Galway and Connemara and had different stops at nice places. The hike to top of the Diamond hill in the national park was excellent, beautiful views. We got from Richie enough time to walk it with no rush. Thanks a lot!
