Perfect balanced day. Smooth transport with pickup and drop off from our hotel in Guilin, excellent English speaking driver/guide, a stop off halfway at a tea plantation to pick some tea (this was a great experience) and learn about how the different types of Chinese tea are made, even getting to try a few. A quick stop off to walk through the Zhao village (this was long enough) and then the highlight of the day: a hike through the Ping'An village (where we also ate lunch at the end) and up through the Longji Rice Terraces. The hike is a loop taking about 2.5 hours at a leisurely pace with stops for photos. There are toilets on route and it is very well signposted. We appreciated being able to do the hike by ourselves without a guide. The views of the rice terraces are wonderful and the Ping'An village was so interesting to walk through. Highly recommend doing it this way. We also talked to some fellow European tourists there who had made their own way to the terraces (bus/taxi) and were stuck with no way of getting back to Guilin, so this highlighted the importance of booking a tour like this.
Our driver and guide Colin was very kind to us. He took us to the rice terraces and upon returning to Guilin we also passed a tea plantation. Highly recommended to go spend the day.
An excursion that allows you to discover quite extraordinary landscapes, to do absolutely during a stay in Guilin
Buy this experience because it was in English. Completely worth it! Our guide Andy was so nice with us and showed us everything we had to see and also drove us to a typical restaurant on our way back. Even if it was so crowded, he made the tour in the opposite direction of the rest of the tourists so it was almost empty (perfect photos).
Everything went as planned. The driver was very punctual at all stages of the program. For an extra cost quite justified, we attended the show of women with long hair, the guide accompanied us to the entrance of the theater and looked for us at the exit. We ate in a restaurant serving a traditional dish (bamboo chicken is served unexpectedly for Europeans). After the meal, we reached the end of the car-accessible road and enjoyed the shuttle (for an extra fee justified) to the very top of the rice terraces (otherwise you can walk up there in intense heat). The descent is done downhill for about 2km through the village of 700 inhabitants. The guide, in good English, provided us with all the information and answered our many questions, he was attentive and considerate. On the way back (offered graciously by the guide), we were able to discover a tea plantation, the picking of leaves, the way they are worked and tasted many of their variety depending on the fermentation of the leaves and the mixtures made (we loved lychee tea). We returned to the hotel comfortably and dazzled by this fantastic day. Thank you very much.
Everything was great, very friendly Andy with very good English. Unfortunately it was foggy and cold, but that's probably how it is in the mountains at this time of year.
Great excursion full of beautiful landscapes. The rice terraces are truly something you can’t miss while in Guilin. The trip included pick up from the hotel. Our guide Hill was really good and helped constantly to facilitate tickets, orderings and payments. Pleasant cable car to the top of the mountain and a visit to a traditional village where ladies never cut their hair. The show in the traditional village, entry to the park, cable car and lunch are not included in the price so that’s something you should consider (about 350 yuans more).
2 hour drive from Guilin and Colin was a great guide and took us there safely. We then walked the rice terraces for 2 hours on our own. Really scenic and the cultural villages (there is plenty of ethnic minorities in the region) with its little shops, restaurants and friendly people were a highlight of our trip. Definitely come to Longji when you visit Guilin!
We had a wonderful day with Colin, our English speaking guide. He picked us up as planned and gave us lots of information as we past different areas and made a stop at a little tea plantation on our way to the rice terraces. We then got a shuttle to the top of the terraces and made our way down and visited the little village and see the Yao minority ladies with their long hair. We headed back and was happy the be back after a good, long and hot day. Thank you for arranging an amazing trip Andy
Andy was a wonderful tour guide. He safely drove us from Yangshuo up to the Longji Terraces. He was knowledgeable and answered all of our various questions. He was flexible with the schedule depending on our preference, which made the trip flow smoothly. His professionalism and kind personality are second to none. Hope to come back to see more of beautiful Guilin and Yangshuo. Thanks Andy!
