We had a great day visiting the rainforest. Our guide, Adrian H, was fantastic: so knowledgeable and funny. He had many stories to tell us about the land, wildlife, and first people. The stops were beautiful, the food was great, and the schedule wonderfully managed. Definitely recommend!
This trip is a lot of driving for quick experiences at each of the locations—mostly just enough time for a photo. I knew it would be a lot of driving, but was surprised by how rushed we were at each site. I also appreciated that they picked up at my hotel, but this means a substantial amount of time is spent with pick ups and drop offs. This felt more like a big bus mass-tour than I was expecting. Our driver was very nice and accommodating (but ignored smaller details like helping arrange meal seatings so groups could sit together), but rambled way too much while driving—I felt like important details got lost in his rambling pontifications and less talking but more intentional would have been an improvement. The views driving during daylight were nice. We thoroughly enjoyed the boat tour to see crocs, and the boat driver was skilled at making sure both sides of the boat got a look. We also saw a cassowary, which was a true highlight. This is a good way to see a lot of sites quickly but know that it’s only short experiences.
A great day out! Scott the driver was very friendly, knowledgeable and was able to tell us many cool stories about the people and things around us! The boat ride was great and we saw so many crocodiles, the morning tea, lunch options and ice cream was also so tasty!
Incredible day exploring the Daintree. Our guide, Lindsay, was informative, friendly, and punctual, and the rainforest is stunning. The boat cruise afforded close-ups of crocodiles, including several babies, and the boat driver/naturalist was a wealth of knowledge. Lunch is in a lovely spot, and the walk along Cape Tribulation was great. Daintree ice cream was some of best I have ever had, and it was a comfortable ride from Cairns and back. Just a lovely, scenic way to explore the region, and there's no way we could have covered so much without this tour. We usually like to explore on our own, but this tour was worth it. Down Under Tours does a fantastic job.
Regrettable. On the day of the excursion, we arrived at the time and place indicated in advance by the company once the reservation was confirmed. After 20 minutes without anyone showing up, we managed to get a neighbor to help us and call the office for us since our phone does not accept calls, only data. In the office, they informed us that our excursion had been canceled due to organizational issues. Not a message to notify, not a call, nor any apologies. If we do not call, we are still waiting for news. The day is ruined when we have traveled thousands of kilometers to enjoy this experience in Cairns, and now we will not be able to do so since our flight leaves tomorrow. These things should not be done; one cannot play with people like this.

Super impressed with our guide, Adrian Hazel. Incredible story teller, professional, and his attitude was unflappably engaging and enthusiastic through a full nine hours. His knowledge of the area -- its flora, fauna, and history -- is truly impressive. The itinerary is very relaxing and chill. Very easy and short walks, suitable for all ages. Maybe not the most exciting tour, the boat cruise looking for crocodiles notwithstanding, and it was packaged well and smoothly executed. Our lunch meal was also quite tasty and fresh, remarkable given the location in the middle of the rainforest. I think the tour is ideal for seniors and tourists looking for a chill excursion.

Daniel made the entire trip an outstanding experience. He has set the bar extremely high for tour guides. He has to have a PHD in Botany as well as a masters in Australian History. He made the entire day of driving a pleasure with his knowledge and humor
We had a really informative tour of Daintree & Cape Tribulation. It turns out there are dangerous plants and critters around, and I'm glad we had a guide to point them out! No worries - we were completely safe the whole time. It was a long day and the agenda was packed. Breaks for tea, lunch, and ice cream were nice. The food was all very good and in beautiful settings. The ice cream store has delicious non-dairy options if you need, and you can buy Daintree Tea there for a much better price than in town. Another benefit of going on a tour is meeting people from all over. We had a small group, which was nice. I highly recommend this tour versus trying to do it on your own.
