We booked the Discover Messina Sicily tour. The tour company communicated a week in advance with us sending all needed info and clear instructions of where we will meet our tour guide. We had a group of 16 friends and family traveling on Celebrity Cruise line. We were greeted by Sara our tour guide and the driver Giovanni. The transportation was clean and luxurious and Sara made the tour interesting and fun. Every one in our group had an amazing time and it was truly a 5 star experience.
My wife & I went on a 12 day Italy, Messina and Croatia cruise with Celebrity and booked excursions in every port. This Taormina & Castelmola bus & guide tour from our ship in Messina was the best organized and our favorite of all the excursions. The bus was modern, clean and the driver was not only talented but super careful as well. We did several “small group” excursions in the other ports and we still liked this one the most.
Discover Messina is a very professional tour company. The itinerary,the knowledge of the guide are flawless. The guide wait on time right beside the cruise and we were warmly welcomed. The scene on the way and spot are fantastic. We have a wonderful day in Messina I recommend everyone to join their tour and you will not regret.
This was a really fun and informative tour led by Mariarita who had a great sense of humor and gave of a lot of tips on foods to try and things to look out for in each port. The communication was excellent as well. We were on a cruise ship and made it to the stops and back to the ship in plenty of time, but do be prepared for a bit of drive to get to the destinations. Thankfully, great AC on the bus, which was especially welcome on a hot summer day.
We booked a day trip to Castelmona and Taormina as part of our cruise holiday. Sicily was the only port where we booked an organised trip and we are so glad we did. There had been two nasty accidents on the main highway the day of our excursion meaning lots of trips had to be cancelled, but our excellent guide Sara and her driver took us on a diverted and scenic route. The journey took just over three hours instead of about one hour but it was well worth it. Sara was very professional and also very informative and full of fun. She made sure we didn't lose out on time spent in Taormina and still got us back in plenty of time for the ship's departure. Everything was seamless from start to finish so thank you. Would highly recommend and excellent value for money.
Our guide was fun on our Taormina day trip from the Messina port. Our first stop in Castelmola was a medieval town with a beautiful view of Mount Etna and the coast. The second stop in Taormina was a highlight of our trip. The ancient theater was interesting. The town was lively with many restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed fine dining with a view that was spectacular.
We loved this day outing! Our guide Mariarita was exceptional and shared information and made recommendations as we drove for various places to check out in the area. Gorgeous views of Mt Etna in Castelmola! Her guided walking tour in Taormina and at the theater was also enjoyable and engaging. She clearly likes what she does! Our driver, Lorenzo, navigated the crazy roads with ease. Heartily recommend this tour and Mariarita in particular.
Our tour guide, Mariatta, was the best! We had a wonderful day and saw everything that we were supposed to see. She gave us ample time in Taormina to walk around on our own. We thought she looked familiar and sure enough she was our tour guide 2 years ago. She is great and the company is super.
A great experience with Katia she was so knowledgeable and took us around Castelmola, Taormina and the Roman theatre which brought Sicily alive to us! Well worth the money
This was a shore excursion for us, from the Port of Messina. Our guide, Katia, was top notch. She gave us a tour filled with passion, knowledge and glimpses into Sicilian life in the past and present along with an inspiring walking tour with so many beautiful views. Katia was also very knowledgeable about upcoming changes in Sicily that focused on tourism. Toward the end of the tour she gave us some hidden gems for a quick bite and then dessert. Thank you to our driver Jack also for his wonderful driving skills!! Definitely recommend. Thank you!!!
