En voiture, la maison de la Vierge Marie est située sur les montagnes d'Aladag à 5 miles d'Ephèse. Lors du troisième Concile œcuménique en 431 après JC à Éphèse, il a été affirmé que Marie est venue à Éphèse avec Saint-Jean en 37 après JC et y a vécu jusqu'à sa mort en 48 après JC Après la découverte de la maison, l'archevêque d'Izmir l'a déclaré comme un lieu de pèlerinage en 1892. Le 26 juillet 1967, le Pape Paul VI visita ce lieu et y pria
Nous commencerons par visiter l'un des points forts de la Turquie, Ephesus, l'une des 12 villes de la Ligue ionienne (un ancien district grec situé sur la côte ouest de l'Asie mineure), près d'Izmir. En tant que ville portuaire, elle constituait un important point de départ pour les routes commerciales vers l’Asie Mineure. Parcourez l’histoire en parcourant des rues en marbre bordées d’édifices publics magnifiques, parmi lesquels les Thermes de Scholastique, la bibliothèque de Celsus; il a été construit au début du IIe siècle après J.-C. par Gaius Julius Aquila pour servir de mémorial à son père, Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, proconsul de la province d'Asie. , le temple d'Hadrien et le Grand théâtre sont deux des édifices les plus impressionnants d'Éphèse. Le grand théâtre a été construit au IIIe siècle av. J.-C. Il a ensuite été étendu à 24 000 spectateurs par les Romains au Ier siècle ap.
Le déjeuner sera servi dans le jardin du centre artisanal local.Après le déjeuner, notre dernier arrêt est le temple d'Artémis, où était l'une des sept merveilles du monde antique comme notre dernier arrêt avant de retourner à Izmir

Our visit to Turkey from the cruise ship was great, very interesting and informative. We got a lot of different experiences with ancient and modern Turkey. We visited local farms, old ruins, interesting shops. Tansu was very helpful, knowledgeable and super friendly. The driver helped us with water bottles for the trip. Thank you guys very much! We definitely enjoyed our Turkish part of the cruise.

Turkey is a breathtaking country with a rich culture and history that was only made so much better by Yavuz and Serjan. We loved every day we were here. The foods, the sights, the ruins and the history were explained and enhanced with expert guidance and professionalism and could not have had a better time.

We had a wonderful tour with Mr. Tan as our tour guide. Not only was he very knowledgable he also had a great sense of humour and it was easy to build a rapport with him. Luckily we were only 3 of us and we had a memorable trip to Ephesus which we will cherish!

Been five days in Turkey and so far I can only be impressed by the hospitality of the people in the country. Iskendar (Alex), the gentleman who guided us on this tour is no exception. He speaks English so fluently, that we can talk so much about the sites we visited. I did the tour with my 61-year mom and 79-year grandma, who walked so slowly and easily got tired after a few steps. And, Iskendar was so patient with them. Maybe it sounds too much but when I apologised for my grandma, he said, "We all have grandma. Don't ever apologise for that." That is the ultimate level of attitude that I have no words to express. The visit to the Virgin Mary’s house was powerful. The visit to Ephesus was a very good overview with a very knowledgeable guide. It’s encouraged me to visit again and dig deeper. The visit to the Artemis Temple and St. John’s Basilica was good but I’d have liked to have seen them closer. Altogether a very good trip.

Nafia is the best tourguide ever, very thorough with the history andculture. She is also kind,friendly and funny. Anyone who goes to Izmir should ask for her. The driver is also very nice and we were very happy with the experience. Worth the money. Not to forget the lunch was homely.
