I'd like to thank you, everything was great on the tours. Super punctual, organized. Super recommend. 👏🏻☺️
Excellent..punctuality.excellent explanations..adoramoa
Sorry, there was a booking error. The executing company Viator did not go to Colonia del Sacramento on 30.04.2026, but to Punta del Este. The pick-up from the hotel was on time, the drive to Punta del Este without any problems. The tour as a whole was interesting in all parts, including the stops in Piriapolis. I used the free time in PdE extensively for sightseeing. For this tour, I give the full score. Remark Perhaps the guide should not use the Spanish routine when explaining in English: machine gun talk. English is starting to sound better. And maybe a little more enthusiasm for what he's doing.
Excellent and very complete tour. The guide Pablo was attentive, lively and brought various explanations along the way, making the trip even more interesting. We had a stop for a simple and delicious coffee at a hotel on the way, which was a great bonus. Then we visit the Plaza de Toros Real de San Carlos, the sign of the city and finally Colonia del Sacramento, which is charming. The guide also made a quick walk with an explanation of the main historical points. Then we had enough time to enjoy Cologne calmly. I was able to have lunch, ice cream, walk and visit some points of interest. On the return, there was still a stop at a museum of collections that also has a store to buy cheeses, alfajores (Sierra de minas is more artisanal and a delight!), milk candy and jelly. It was a very well spent day, despite being a long walk, around 10 hours, the experience was excellent and very well worth it
Punta del Este and Cologne both the very professional guide and driver. Thanks.
The tour canceled us even after my repeated attempts to find out what time exactly we were supposed to meet at the hotel. We showed up at the hotel the morning of our tour only to be told they had canceled us because they assumed we were still in Buenos Aires, even though we were on a cruise and were in Montevideo that morning! They should’ve known that there was a cruise ship in that day! That’s why we booked the excursion!
Colonia is a charming city, small, nice. Climbing to the lighthouse is a separate experience. The Museum of Collections is fascinating. I would like the tour to include an internal visit to Plaza de Toros. It would have been very nice.
Very good service and driving. Would have liked a longer walking tour in Colonia itself. But the guide was very nice and professional
Very good tour, definitely worth going. Paul, the guide, was fantastic. Our first stop was a remote hotel where we were welcomed with coffee/tea and croissants.
The tour company/organizer completely forgot or messed up my pickup. After I booked the tour, I heard nothing from the organizer (unlike other tours) until I sent a message to get an answer on pickup time. They sent a note saying 0800 in the hotel lobby. I was there promptly at 0800 and no one came into a relatively small lobby asking for me or saying my name or saying Colonia tour. I sent a note via Viator app at 0830 asking if there was some delay or mishap and got no reply. Luckily in past message in app, there was a WhatsApp number, where I sent a note shortly before 0900 asking what was happening with the delay (note - my digital pass said pickup between 0800-0900 so I figured I was still within some window, even though their message said 0800). I got a reply back saying "the tour is really later, Im sending you a car to tet you on the tour" – upon which an Uber showed up and drove me to the full bus of the tour group that almost already left the main city and was pulled over on the side of a major road to let me on. I felt very embarrassed to hold up the group, but clearly something big had gone wrong with organizing a pickup and no one had reached out to me to figure out what was happening - they were just going to leave. The tour guide was so sweet and helpful and really did a wonderful job. What I didn't know though was that I would be the only English speaker amongst a group of 25-30 Portugese speaking guests so I felt awkward and isolated at times. This is no reflection upon the guide – again, he did a fantastic job, made sure to give me explanations still and made sure I was all set – but the company should've given some heads up about what I was walking into. The town of Colonia was very charming and sweet and a lovely place to visit. I think we could've easily skipped the collections museum - it was a random stop and didn't feel needed for a long day. I want to say all positive things about the guide and the city of Colonia, but the actual tour organizer clearly was disorganized that day and if it hadn't been for me reaching out, I would've fully lost out on this tour opportunity.
