Private Krka trip did not match the booking information or our mobility needs

I was one of two travellers on this private Krka day trip. This review is based solely on our personal experience, the booking confirmation, written WhatsApp messages before the trip, the tickets we retained, photographs and later email correspondence. We booked what was presented as a private day trip for two people. The booking confirmation listed private transportation, Wi-Fi, an air-conditioned vehicle and boat tickets to Krka National Park among the inclusions. We relied on this written information when deciding whether the trip was suitable for us. This was particularly important because, before the tour, my partner informed the operator in writing that he has a disability, a knee injury and limited ability to walk. He specifically asked how much walking would be involved. We understood that the walk after the boat would be short and manageable. In reality, the route to the falls involved more than 500 steep steps, including a demanding ascent and descent. My partner had to stop repeatedly because of his knee injury, and I was also affected by the unexpected exertion because of respiratory issues. We could not complete the intended visit or the rest of the planned tour. What we expected to be a manageable walk became an endurance test. Before collection, we were told that the person with whom we had been communicating was at the doctor’s and that someone else would be sent. The vehicle that arrived 20mins late was an older Mercedes B-Class with limited rear legroom, not the car advertised or shown when we booked. There was no usable Wi-Fi or USB charging point that we could use, and no water was offered. Although the booking was described as a private excursion, we were taken to the boat terminal and then left to manage the boat journey, access route and visit independently. We were not given meaningful route guidance, clear accessibility information or practical assistance. The driver was polite, but in practical terms the service felt closer to a taxi transfer than the organised private excursion we understood we had booked. We were required to pay €80 in cash at the boat-ticket office before boarding. The driver took us to the payment point and was present when we paid, and we retained the tickets. This was concerning because boat tickets to Krka National Park were listed among the booking inclusions. In later WhatsApp correspondence, the operator stated that the boat trip had been offered because of my partner’s mobility limitations. Our understanding was that the boat was necessary to reach the intended Krka visit from Split, rather than an optional extra. We were not told before booking or before the trip that a separate €80 payment would be required to board. At the payment office, we were told by the cashier that she was surprised that we had not been informed about this separately in advance. Krka is beautiful and the waterfalls are pleasant, although they did not compare for us with the scale and impact of Niagara Falls. They may be worth seeing in the right circumstances. However, the scenery did not outweigh the unexpected physical demands, unclear accessibility information, limited assistance and additional cash payment. For us, the day was stressful and disappointing rather than enjoyable. Viator refunded our booking after we submitted our complaint service and supporting information and directed us to deal directly with Vinko for the remainder 80euros. We then contacted the operator directly, supplied the booking confirmation, tickets and other relevant documents, and asked for clarification and reimbursement of the €80. We also asked for confirmation of the payment circumstances with the driver who had been present. This did not resolve the issue. We found the subsequent communications dismissive, patronising and disrespectful. In our view, they did not address the central factual issues: the written mobility discussion before booking, the vehicle supplied, the route and steep steps, the €80 payment required before boarding, and the level of assistance provided. The operator’s public response to our earlier review does not reflect our recollection of events or the documentation we retain. We have travelled widely and chose to visit Croatia in good faith. We are sharing this account to help other travellers make an informed choice, particularly people with mobility concerns. Not everyone who has a disappointing experience decides to leave a review; many understandably prefer to leave it behind. We have decided to share ours because these practical details may help someone else ask the right questions before committing to a booking. During our visit, we personally saw older visitors and parents with young children and pushchairs appearing to struggle with the access route and steep steps. The route may be manageable for some visitors, depending on fitness, mobility, health and equipment. However, older travellers, families with pushchairs, and anyone with reduced mobility, knee problems or respiratory concerns should obtain the exact walking route, number and steepness of steps, boat arrangements, ticket costs, inclusions, vehicle details, facilities and level of assistance in writing before booking. We would also advise future travellers to use a payment method that provides a clear record wherever possible, rather than relying on cash, because a record may be important if there is later disagreement about what was included or paid.

Dear future clients, as you can see from previous reviews from same person all over again, looks like I’m dealing here with something… These two keep leaving reviews every single night from different emails and aliases. Also they’re doing this through my Google Business profile as well through my personal email. Actually what they’re trying here is to extort money from me. They are literally abusing me, my family and my employees. I’ve just asked for trip advisor to protect me from this. Also Google. Croatian authorities have been contacted for bullying over the internet. Thank you for paying attention and reading my response. Furthermore, we also have all the evidences documented… Booking confirmation, what’s included in booking, whatsapp messages, private emails they’ve sent to me trying to extort extra 80€ over false allegations, threats etc….etc…

Not the luxury private guided tour advertised

We booked this as a luxury private tour but unfortunately it was one of the most stressful travel experiences we have had and did not reflect the service advertised. The driver was around 20 minutes late he was friendly and polite fbut in practice the service was no more than a taxi service to and from the boat terminal. We were not provided with a private guide, any meaningful assistance, route guidance or accompaniment during the visit . Once we arrived at the boat terminal we were left to manage alone. The vehicle was an older Mercedes B-Class with very limited rear legroom it did not have the advertised Wi-Fi USB charging points of bottled water. No water was offered at any point. The most serious issue was inaccurate and inadequate accessibility information before the trip I told Vinko in writing that I have a disability a knee injury and cannot walk too much. I specifically asked how much walking would be involved I was like to believe that they would be only a short walk of around 10 minutes after the boat journey. I reality reaching the Falls involved more than five hundred steep steps I had to stop and start repeatedly because of my knee injury my partner also has refrigeratory issues and was adversely affected by the unexpected exertion. Had we been given clear information about the number and the steepness of the steps we would never have booked to this trip. We were also required to pay separately for both tickets in order to continue out of total cost of 80 euros. The booking information was unclear and inconsistent one part of the documentation stated that National Park tickets were not included while the itineries stated that National Park tickets were included - this made it very difficult to understand in advance what was actually included in the advertised price and what extra costs we might have to pay. Because of the severe difficulty caused by the steps and the impact on both of us we had to cut the visit short and were unable to continue with the plant National Park part of the journey and the trip to the town the driver was personally pleasant but friendliness does not make up for the missing advertised facilities, the lack of a guide, the unexpected costs and the misleading information about accessibility and lack of guide as advertised. Although the natural setting is attractive the final experience did not justify the physical difficulty for us after the Unexpected demanding climb as steep steps the viewpoint was not what we had been led to expect and given the mobility and respiratory issues the visit was more stressful than enjoyable. I witnessed many people having the same issues and I particularly felt sorry for mothers with pushchairs who had no idea what there were in for when they got off the boat. Not worth 340 euros. I would not recommend this tour to anyone with mobility difficulties knee problems respiratory issues or anyone expecting the luxury private guided experience advertised it is far from the truth.

Replying publicly to all of my future clients. Please check its other reviews. Please check our previous reviews from normal people. Unfortunately we are dealing here with cyber bullying, same person using different emails to keep posting misleading facts, pure lies, sending me personal emails etc. It stressed me out, stressed out my colleague even my kids and wife... through several platforms doing same thing. Different emails same person posting exactly the same review. Currently we are working on legal steps to stop it. Thank you for reading this. Also we took some legal steps through Trip Advisor and Google since we are dealing here with something we never had in our lives... Thank you all who kept reading our

Raymond, (I was taught to open with "Dear Sir", but I refuse to use a polite address for this) I’ve been unpleasantly surprised by your review… If you made an effort and read all my previous reviews, you’d easily realize you’re an exception. However, I feel obliged to respond to your nonsense as I now realize you are really frustrated for no reason. First of all, the driver wasn’t 20 minutes late, but that’s fine… No guided tour was advertised…national park guidance has always been extra charged. A tourist who’s seen a bit of a world would know that private guided tours would have cost double the price you’ve paid for your day trip. No entrance tickets were advertised as included, either. On the other hand, a kind of service that’s being provided by my firm is something else - it includes rides, the waiting time and entertainment options you’ve been offered all along. You didn’t like the aforesaid options and that’s the reason you didn’t like the trip as well. Another thing is your knee injury. Since we talked about it beforehand, I was aware of your inability of walking for a long time, so I didn’t (and would never) recommend a full Krka touring. That’s why you were offered a national park boat tour instead, spending some time near Skradinski buk (the biggest fall you can see almost immediately when you take off the boat) and coming back to Skradin where the tour would continue. From your review I realize that you took the steps near Skradinski Buk and went up the Park path although you weren’t advised to do so because of your knee problem. You haven’t mentioned any respiratory problems while talking to me before the trip, either. This year’s temperatures were quite high but you were determined to take the tour. Perhaps you've set your expectations too high. Anyhow, as you returned to Skradin by boat, disappointed and obviously exhausted, you couldn’t cope with the rest of the daytrip so you decided to refuse all the rest of the daytrip offer and complain about everything you’ve been offered: a car – the Mercedes Benz B-Class, our forte, no one has actually complained about up to now, water – you’re right, you’ve forgotten to be offered (my bad – sorry!) although we would have been glad you asked for it, USB charger that’s been in front of you but you haven’t seen it or asked for it, no legroom, misleading info, unexpected costs, etc., etc. I have provided all the necessary information. You were the one to insist on taking this tour. I had no idea your knee was in such a bad shape. I didn’t know you were thirsty. I didn’t know you lacked legroom… I didn’t know you actually were sorry you’d taken the trip. Hope you feel better soon! Yours, Vinko

Beautiful experience as couple

The private car was nice. Waterfalls were BEAUTIFUL! He took us to a wonderful beach and had a lot of info in Sibernik. I had a good time. It’s not a tour so much as it is someone driving you to destinations. We enjoyed it a lot.

A Vacation Highlight

Our guide was awesome! When he picked us up, he asked what we were interested in and made a personalized trip. Krka and the waterfalls were incredible. We had lunch and wine tasting in a family run place in Skradin. Then explored Trogir and learned about the history of Dalmatia. This day was one of the highlights of our entire trip. Highly recommend!

Vinko is the Best!

This was by far the best day of our time in Split, all thanks to Vinko! He was such an amazing tour guide and took us to the coolest places in addition to Krka. Vinko is so friendly and easy to talk to. He made sure that we were doing everything we wanted to do, on our own time. We really enjoyed getting to know him. We would recommend this experience to anyone! Don’t hesitate to book!!
