I was alone and Calvin sent me where to see animals I wanted to see (already done some safaris) The boat tour must be done ! A lot of nice birds may be seen during this safari , girafes, rhinos …
I booked this trip solely to see the famed flamingos. We were going to go to Lake Nakuru, but we’re informed that there are no longer flamingos at the lake. So, our driver, gave us the option of going to Lake Elemntaita to see flamingos… there were maybe 50 (we were told there were 200). So, we also didn’t get to do the safari because we didn’t go to Lake Nakuru national park. We ended our tour 3 hours early. The boat ride at Lake Naivasha was also underwhelming, minimal hippos sightings. We saw two groups very briefly, but it was mostly just seeing animals in Crescent Island from the boat. Overall $250 for a ride to an from Nairobi because tickets to both were not included, nor was lunch. Definitely not worth the price!
Hi Amie. Thank you for writing such a review for us. We take all reviews positively and seriously. We are excited you booked with but regret that the trip did not meet your expectations. First we need to inform you that nature is something that you cannot control and that's why at the moment there are no flamingoes in lake Nakuru. This trip is not entirely for flamingoes but other animals as well which are plenty. This is a pure safari and you get the opportunity to see four out of the big five. Flamingoes are among the animals that call lake nakuru home. Flamingoes migrate depending on the level of water and since the water levels rose in the lake they moved to a close by lakes elementaita and lake Bogoria. You suggested that you only want to see the flamingoes after the driver told you on the way that they migrated and suggested that you can see few in lake elementaita. You changed him to elementaita and suggested to visit lake elementaita instead of lake nakuru. Since you insisted on elementaita the driver accepted to take you there and you managed to see flamingoes. We are sorry that we fall into your trap to change the tour midway. You later demanded for a refund that we still okayed. We regret your dissatisfaction and wish to serve you next time for other tours. Regards. Moturi.
If you book a language other than English, it is not guaranteed! I had a German leader confirmed. Unfortunately, it didn't work... Further, the vehicle was another disappointment. Old, uncomfortable and a shaker on Kenya's streets. Then I already come to the next point: The distance to the park is about 170 km. 3 - 4 hours time required each way. There's not too much time left for the animals. The park is huge! With this tour you will see only a very limited part of the park. If you're lucky, you'll see from the Big 5 2 - 3 of them. The encounters with “creation” were nevertheless impressive. Calvin my driver and guide (unfortunately only in English) was very competent and tried very hard to meet my wishes. Nevertheless, I would not recommend the tour but only book a Nairobipark Safari.
Hi Rene. We appreciate and humbled that you chose us for this safari to lake Nakuru national park day tour. Thank you four taking your time to write such such a review. We take all reviews seriously whether negative or positive. We are thrilled that you booked with us and we are committed to give the best. We could like to point out some issues regarding your negative review. We have got limited language guides other than English and for you to book for the German guide you need to book early in advance to make us reserve the guide for you, you only booked 24 hours to safari and we communicated to you that we are having short of this guides as its high season and most of then are either on safari elsewhere. You agreed to do the safari with the English guide who was very competent and has a track record as the best guide. You also complained on bad roads and old car. Our cars are well maintained and road worth as as we do regular inspections to make sure they are roadworthy and without any mechanical issues. All parks are dirt roads to keep them natural and avoid high speeds while on Safari. We shall work on your point out issues and make sure we give the best of it. You are most welcome to do more tours with us in future and enjoy with our well trained German guides. Thank you.
Douglas was an excellent guide! Unfortunately, the pink flamingos had not migrated back to Lake Nakuru yet (they should be coming back soon) but that didn't stop my enjoyment of the tour. Douglas took the time to really search for a variety ofpany beautiful birds and animals - and his keen eye caught a male tiger stalking a heard of zebras as well as a rare black rhino (both from quite far away - I was only able to see it with binoculars after he spottted both as we we're driving with just his eyes). And we saw a male lion and several female lions wake up and walk around up close! Douglas is also extremely knowledge about the animals in the park and happy to answer questions and provide more information. A fantastic experience, highly recommend this company.
Great guide with a personalized experience. Got so close to the animals including a lion who we waited patiently to wake up. Highly recommended.
I had a wonderful guide who knew all the right spots to find animals. We waited patiently for a lion who was sleeping. After 30 minutes he woke up, walked straight towards us and then past the car. Amazing and the animals all get super close.
The tour was Amazing! We enjoy the views and the animals. Douglas and Calvin were the best! From 6am to 6pm tour and later in Nairobi again.
Such a great experience. I really enjoyed the overnight stay and safari in Amboseli with Douglas. He's such a great guide well experienced. He drove safely and shared a lot through the busy highway of Mombasa with lots of trucks. It was such great fun and experience. He's a great eye in spotting animals from a distance. He will communicate with other guides and will always find all I wanted to see. Kudos Douglas and I will always ask for you once I'm in Kenya.
I had a wonderful trip to Lake nakuru and lake naivasha where I had the pleasure of seeing black rhinos in lake nakuru national Park. Douglas was a thoughtful and knowledgeable guide who took great care of me and also answered my millions questions. If your planning to go on this tour I would suggest you take with you some snacks to keep you going until lunch. Highly recommend.
Douglas treated us like his own family. He went the extra mile to make sure that we found, did and saw every thing we wanted
