Perfect day trip to witness herds of elephants. Mawse was my guide he made sure that I was taken care of throughout the day!
We truly appreciate your tour review feedback, glad you had a wonderful safari experience with guide mwose.
Great and enriching experience- despite being just a day-tour, so much was packed in . Mwose was extremely knowledgeable and offered great views of the key jungle inmates - shame we couldn’t sight the royals. The visit to the Masai village provided invaluable insight to their culture and traditions.
We’re delighted and grateful you booked with us. Thanks for recommending the safari experience.
We had an amazing time on the safari seeing elephants and lions up close. Obed is an amazing guide who is super knowledgeable about the animals you see. If you’re going to Amboseli Park you need to go with Obed.
Amanda, we feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to offer the tour. we're delighted to have your feedback review and appreciate your recommendation of guide Obed
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 out of 5 stars) Day Tour to Amboseli National Park and Maasai Village – October 21, 2025 (Booked through Viator) My friends and I recently took the Safari and Maasai Village tour while visiting Kenya. Our day started early at 5 a.m. when our guide, Obed, greeted us with a big smile and genuine enthusiasm, which immediately set a positive tone for the day. The morning was cool, and the van only had one blanket available. Two of my friends shared it while I used my jacket. Our first stop was a local market. A word of advice for future travelers — the prices here are negotiable. You gather items in a basket and then bargain with the seller. This “let’s make a deal” approach wasn’t something we particularly enjoyed, and it would’ve been helpful to know in advance. We also noticed coffee being served and assumed it was part of the tour, but later learned it was $6 USD for a small cup after it had already been prepared. Once we arrived at the Amboseli park gates, Obed suggested putting the $90 park fee on one credit card to make things easier. We preferred to pay individually, and although he mentioned that it would take longer, we opted to do it that way regardless. The safari ride itself was very bumpy — far rougher than we expected. If anyone has back problems or health concerns, this could be an issue. We were excited to see the animals, and while the experience was incredible in many ways, we were disappointed that no lions were seen. Lions were a major selling point in the tour description and one of the main reasons we booked. Obed explained that lions are typically only visible very early in the morning, but that detail was not disclosed in the booking information. It was a big letdown, especially since seeing lions had been a lifelong dream of mine. After the safari, we realized we were never offered the bottled water that was supposed to be included. Next came the Maasai Village visit, which completely turned the day around. This part of the tour was absolutely amazing. The Maasai people were warm, welcoming, and eager to share their traditions and lifestyle. It was the most authentic and memorable part of the entire experience. One helpful note — the Maasai prefer Kenyan shillings over U.S. dollars for any purchases or contributions. Because it was an extremely long day and no meals were provided, we decided to skip the planned market lunch stop and head back toward our hotel. We had to ask for a restroom break along the way, and while we eventually stopped for drinks and snacks, we were surprised that no food or water stops were offered automatically. Overall, this tour was just okay. The Maasai Village experience truly made up for much of the disappointment, but the safari portion didn’t meet expectations. Between the lack of communication, missing amenities, and no lions, I can’t say I’d book this particular tour again. Still, I’m grateful for the cultural connection, the warmth of the Maasai people, and the chance to share such a unique experience with friends.
we appreciate sharing your review, we hope to continue doing the best to give the best safari experience and meeting expectations. Unfortunatly nature is random and we couldnt find the Lions that day.
A perfect day with Safari and Masai Village visit. Highly recommended. Tour guide told every stories during the tour. Thanks for everthing.
We appreciate having your tour feedback review. Thanks for booking with us.
We did the tour with Obed and it was amazing! We saw lots of animals, and Obed always stopped the van for as long as we wanted. He was so kind and shared many details about the animals, Kenya, and the local tribes with us. He also took us to a local restaurant where the food was delicious and the people were really friendly. We 100% recommend him! We’ll definitely book with him again and recommend him to all our friends and family.
Truly greatful to have a wonderful review, we appreciate your recommendation of Guide Obed. We’re glad you had a wonderful time. Many thanks for booking with us.
Moses is exactly the kind of guide you hope to take you on safari. Patient, knowledgeable, having good relationships with the local people you’ll meet on your travels and the ability to make your trip special by showing you small details you might not have noticed on your own, or pointing out wildlife in one place while you were looking in another. He has a great sense of humor, was happy to move at our pace, and was kind enough to pull over in traffic on our way back to the hotel to help me find a snack after a long day, even though we’d already been gone as long as our tour was allowed for. He was awesome to travel with.
We're delighted to have your feedback review. We appreciate your recommendation and were grateful you had a wonderful safari with Moses.
The first thing you need to know is Amboseli National Park is a long way from Nairobi, approx 4.5-5 hours drive, so almost 10 hour round trip! We left at 5am and got back at 7pm. Obed, our driver & safari guide was great. The vehicle is comfortable and there was a stop half way. The safari was great! We saw elephants, giraffe, zebra, hippos, gazelle, buffalo, wildebeest, kori bustard bird & a coloured beak stork. Unfortunately missed out on seeing the lions. The tour of the Masai village was interesting. We would recommend this tour.
Hi.. Lynda, we appreciate your feedback review. Many thanks for booking the recommended guide, Obed. Many thanks for booking with us.
I spent an exceptional day with Obed, a passionate, friendly and extremely professional guide. Right from the start, he put me at ease with his smile and clear explanations. Amboseli National Park is simply magnificent! The visit to the Maasai village was an authentic and enriching experience. A well-organized day, full of discoveries and human exchanges. I highly recommend this excursion with Obed to anyone looking for a real Kenyan adventure!
It’s a great delight to have your Safari review, we appreciate booking with us and recommending guide Obed.
I had an amazing safari experience in Anseborg National Park in Kenya. It was the best safari game for guides looking for points to observe animals. He was concerned about my health, and after lunch, he drove me to his hotel in a hurry.
