Our guide Tony was knowledgeable and very nice. He knew all the best spots for visiting and observing Mt Fuji, some of which were hidden gems with hardly any other people. Beautiful walk through the woods, observation from a close-by mountain top, views across the surrounding lakes, and great commentary on Japanese culture. You should not miss this! The next day Tony took us around Tokyo: fish market, Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples, sushi lunch, major landmarks. Perfect for a layover where time is limited. Also, Tony was an extremely careful driver with an immaculate car to take us around. At our request he located a wonderful casual restaurant in Shinjuku for us that was a highlight of the trip.
This trip exceeded expectations. Firstly Mt Fuji was very obliging and revealed herself in all her glory and secondly our guide, Fumie was excellent. It was like going to see Mt Fuji with a friend. The journey out of Tokyo took nearly 3 hours as everyone had the same idea on such a spectacularly sunny day. The journey back more like 2 hours. The car was comfortable and the driver professional. The advantage of doing a tour like this is that you have the opportunity to tailor your preferences with the advice of the guide. It was wonderful.
We scheduled the tour for Mt Fuji from Tokyo and we were very pleased with the tour. The day that we visited Mt Fuji was a bit overcasted so we weren't able to see the mountain in full view, however we are seasoned travelers and realized that no one can control the weather conditions. Tony did an excellent job making sure that we saw alternate areas that were beautiful especially with the fall/autumn colors. Great tour overall.
First off. Amazing trip. The downside? we have to come back. So much more to see. The upside? I know who to call for my next trip. I would call upon Tony and Tracy in a heartbeat without hesitation. Having a local, knowledgeable guide is key and they delivered. Warning. It is VERY hot in July, perhaps choose a month with milder temperatures!
The ride from Tokyo was so comfortable! We stopped at many “off the beaten path” locations and views to see the beautiful Hakone region that we wouldn’t have seen or reached by bus or rail. The clouds were not kind to us and only had glimpses of Mt. Fuji, but we had many opportunities from different vantage points. Overall great experience and would recommend this trip with Tony.
Tony was great! We enjoyed our day thoroughly. He was very flexible and helped us navigate around a rainy day and see beautiful sights!
Highly recommend. Fumi was our guide and was very pleasant. Communication was friendly and we shared great stories, laughs, and provided us ideas for our stay. Driver was friendly and was an expert getting us around safely. Too bad cherry blossoms did not blossom for our Mt Fuji trip. But we had a great time.
Sadly it was cold and cloudy so we did not even get to see Mt Fuji. So trip was unusual.. our guide was knowledgeable and experienced. He had a very luxurious car. It was very comfortable. The trip was very expensive for us and that we would not do again. Tony had a nice tour for us
Tony is a very experienced guide who speaks good English. He tells us about the background and history of the places he brings us. We wouldn’t have known the facts if we travelled alone. He is very accommodating to our needs and is patient with kids too. It is so convenient for him to bring us around, we do not need to worry about anything. It has been a pleasant and smooth tour with him, highly recommended to engage him for Tokyo tours! 👍
Thank you for being our guest. Looking forawrd to seeing you soon again near future.
We used Japan Travel Assist for four cities we visited over 2 weeks: Tokyo, Mt. Fuji/Hakone, Kyoto, and Osaka. We had a great time with our all of our guides (Fumi, Tony, and Mimmy). The overall experience was outstanding and would definitely use Tony and his team again on our next trip. The booking process was easy, all the guides were so flexible and accommodating with last minute adjustments and Fumi was particularly thoughtful in anticipating what our teenage girls would be interested in doing in Tokyo and Kyoto.
Thank you for your review. We all hope to see you agian.
