Le plus grand lac d’eau douce du Kenya, situé à environ 100 kilomètres de Nairobi. Il est situé au nord-ouest de Nairobi, en dehors de la ville de Naivasha. Il fait partie de la vallée du Grand Rift bordé d'épais papyrus qui fait presque 13 km de diamètre, mais ses eaux sont peu profondes, avec une profondeur moyenne de cinq mètres. Les eaux du lac attirent une grande variété de gibier sur ces rivages.

Plus tard, vous irez pour une heure de bateau qui vous permettra de voir les hippopotames que vous pourrez facilement apercevoir depuis l’île. Parmi les oiseaux résidents se trouvent des aigles poissons, des nénuphars, des crabes noirs et une variété de hérons. Les hippopotames vivent aussi dans le lac.

We recently took a day trip from Nairobi to Lake Naivasha, and it was a refreshing break from city life, with lovely views of the Rift Valley escarpment along the way. We did boat rides, riding along with hippos then crossed over to Crescent Island where we did a walking safari. It was the best ever Safari I have done walking along with animals.
Great day out. Casolodge Travel and Safaris did us proud after a late start because TripAdvisor (Viator) had failed to communicate with them our booking. The tour operator was able to lay on the tour at 2 hours notice. I suggest phoning +254733912093 to book direct. Because of the late start we arrived at the game park around 11am when many of the animals were sheltering from the heat of the day, so not best timing. Then a visit to he Olkaria Spa and geothermal power station - a revelatio. A late lunch (also because of the late start ) was followed by a spectacular boat trip on Lake Naivasha.
