We had just enough time to walk up to the top of the waterfalls but not too much so we were sitting and wasting time. Loved the personal stories our guide told, so many facts we would never have learned about any other way.
Lake Myvatn Day Tour and Godafoss Waterfall from Akureyri Port was amazing. Viggy was an excellent and knowledgeable tourer. Lonny and I highly recommend them. You get to see and experience so many different terrains/panoramas. It was a small group, so it made it even better. Faster loading and unloading. Not to forget that the prices are much better than booking directly from the Cruise.
Great tour. The driver who was the tour guide in a minibus provided a wonderful experience. He provided lots of information about Iceland. We toured the beautiful countryside outside of Akureyri. First stop was the beautiful Godafoss waterfalls. It was a short hike to the viewpoints. we next drove to Lake Myvatn where we saw the lava formations. This was followed by a stop nearby at the Námaskarð area where we viewed the bubbling Hverir Mud pools and pots. Our last stop was the Earth Lagoon Myvatn Nature Baths where we relaxed prior to our ride back to the cruise ship
An outstanding overview of Iceland’s volcanic wonders. Our guide Armann was phenomenal, a true professional. An Icelandic native, he’s been guiding tours for 17 years and is incredibly knowledgeable. Plus his positive energy and sense of humor made for a fun day. Several interesting stops in a comfortable 16-seat minivan. Going into the thermal bath is optional, and a separate charge. Those of us who didn’t bathe enjoyed the cafe, with some outdoor seating overlooking the pool. Just wish we had a better understanding of what else we could have seen while some of the group were in the baths. Be prepared for a truly foul smell at the mud pots, but it’s worth the pain.
Our guide and bus driver, Mr. G., was very knowledgeable and funny! We crammed a lot in one day, and it was all amazing! We had never taken a tour that was not sponsored by the cruise line, so did not know what to expect. Imagine Iceland Tours made it very easy. We walked off the ship, passed the parking lot where the cruise tour busses were waiting, then came to a row of tour stands, where we checked in with the operator and waited for our names to be called. We were dropped off at the same place. It was seamless.
Excellent tour with Biggy. He was very knowledgeable and a good recounter. He was also accommodating getting us to Mytvan Spa.
The tour is super complete, Victoria the guide and her mother Jenny conducted the bilingual tour in Spanish and English, it is very complete and the one I have liked the most out of those we have done in Iceland They explained everything to us perfectly, a very pleasant small group tour. I recommend it 100% Best tour
The water falls are spectacular. Very happy with this excursion. We have used Viator on many occasions. They almost always provide experiences that exceed expectation.
This was a good tour. The guide we had was a local who had many stories to share and was quite informative. The information he gives is on the bus, but he does not come out and guide you at the various stops (unlike some of the other tours). One feedback I would give is the information on Viator regarding the itinerary was a little unclear so wanted to clarify what to expect. It was about 6.5 hours total. You start with the Godafoss waterfall. The sites of Lake Myvatn (for about 3 hours) is basically everything else. There were only two people in our group who did the Earth Lagoon portion (they got about an hour). We were already doing the Blue Lagoon in Reykavik so did not do this portion. While the two were at the Earth Lagoon, the rest of the bus got 30 minutes for lunch and then went to the Grjotagja caves (tectonic plates meet and also a Game of Thrones filming site) nearby for about 30 minutes (if you book the lagoon, you miss the caves). Of note, while the lagoon was more like 4 hours into the tour, it was not a big deal that the two booked it 3 hours in. The mud pools and pots are similar to the Yellowstone area. The sulfur smells are definitely powerful (one of my boys didn’t want to stay in the area accordingly). With all that said, this was a good tour and certainly hits the highlights we wanted to see!
The itinerary was good and included things we wanted to see or do. The Guide was not great. He did not provide information that would have been useful, the timing of the itinerary was not followed and the Guide seemed confused. Similar itinerary offered by other companies.
