The 1 Day Lake Mburo Tour from Kampala was an amazing experience with my partner. The drive to the park was enjoyable, and our guide kept the journey interesting with stories and local information. Our guide was very friendly and made the experience more enjoyable by explaining the nature of the different animals and answering all our questions. During the safari trip, we saw zebras, elands, impalas, buffaloes and many colorful birds. Asante Sana the whole team of East African Jungle Safaris.
All the arrangements went very smoothly. The guide was knowledgeable, pleasant company, and a good driver. The drive to the national park takes you through the heart of Uganda. Once there, you’ll easily find an amazing variety of mammals and birds. I was there just during the day, when the ‘prey’ animals are about and relatively unconcerned by a few tour vehicles. I’d like to come again and spend a night or two, to experience the fauna and landscape at other hours. and not have so much driving on one day.
This was a last-minute solo trip to Mburo. Fred was extremely responsive on Whatsapp and patiently answered all my questions. I was put in touch with the safari team on the evening before the trip which went smoothly. Shout out to safari guide/driver Faroukh S. A great conversationalist and wildlife spotter, Faroukh made sure that I felt safe as a solo female traveler and patiently waited for me to take photos throughout the day. I would definitely recommend this trip, and Faroukh, to anyone who is short on time.
This is was my first Safari experience and must say it was amazing! Sam, the tour guide, was super friendly and we talk all the way there. The communication and the service were exceptional. They answered all my questions very fast and clarifying any doubts. The Safari itself was incredible! I was lucky enough to be the only guest that day in the tour so I got the chance to stop and enjoy every single moment in Lake Mburo National Park. I recommend this safari experience 100%.
We booked our one day trip with East African Safaris in Uganda to visit Lake Mburo National Park. It was absolutely our best decision to go with these guys, I highly recommended day trip to the National Park! The place was very peaceful and full of animals. It was a beautiful moments before the sun gets up fully. A boat ride on the lake was a lovely way to end of the day.
the sighting of the zebras is quiet interesting. many bird species including the funny shoebill and the sightings of herds of longhorned cattle was memorable
Samuel, my guide, was amazing. He picked me up from the apartments where I was staying while in Kampala. He handled everything along the way. We stopped at the equator for a photo op, and when I expressed an interest in browsing the craft shops for a few minutes he was very amicable. As soon as we turned onto the road that leads into the park we started to see zebras and antelope and he stopped to put the top up on the van so I could stand up and take pictures. He knew all of the animals I didn't know, and he was EXCELLENT at maneuvering the van through the muddy roads, as it was raining almost the entire time. Part of the fee included lunch at a restaurant on the shore of the lake and a two hour cruise on the lake on a ferry boat. Along with the above mentioned animals, I saw baboons, monkeys, water bucks, buffalo, Ankole cattle, and warthogs. Every time we saw animals he stopped so I could get could get good shots. On the cruise there were schools of hippos and a few crocodiles. Samuel was determined that I should see giraffes and asked another guide where his group had seen some. And we eventually saw a fairly large group as we were on our way out of the park. He was extremely professional the entire time. Traffic was horrible coming back and he didn't get frustrated. I left my wallet in the van and he brought it back to me the next morning, bright and early, almost as soon as I missed it.
Lake Mburo is an open forest ecosystem, significantly different from the open savanna of the Murchison Falls or Queen Elizabeth parks. As such, it affords a more intimate relationship with the wildlife but no long views. I found the walking tour (with ranger) to be a unique experience and most interesting. My guide (Samuel) was a great companion and very helpful. As a day trip, this is very long. I was picked up at 6:30 AM and returned at midnight. About half of that time is driving to and from the park.
I was in Uganda for a conference and did the one day Mboro Tour with East Africa Jungle Safari. I found Fred the owner of this Tour to be responsive and reasonably priced and accommodating. I had great experience at the stunning Mboro reserve and lake with a wonderful guide Mr. Sam and a good driver. The 4-wheel Safari Van was in good shape and my pick up from the hotel was on time and seamless. Sam was great at picking out various plain animals like Giraffe, Zebra, Water Antelope and Hippos which were stunning. For a solo lady traveller I felt very safe and was treated with utmost kindness and courtesy. I highly recommend East African Jungle Safari and its wonderful team!
I had the best time during this trip! Especially the walking tour is a unique experience. I saw numerous animals including hippos, buffalos, zebras, etc. My guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The company was very responsive and helpful. Pickup at the hotel was organized and worked very well. I highly recommend this to anyone that’s looking for an entertaining and eventful experience.
