Préparez-vous à découvrir le vieux Japon à pied avec cette randonnée passionnante à travers des villes de poste traditionnelles, des forêts anciennes et des cols de montagne spectaculaires. En partant de la ville de poste de Tsumago-juku, votre guide vous expliquera un peu quels types de personnes ont parcouru les routes du vieux Japon, où elles allaient et comment elles vivaient. Vous aurez la chance d'entrer dans certains bâtiments, dont une ancienne auberge et une écurie, qui illustrent parfaitement ce que votre guide a mentionné. En quittant la ville de poste de Tsumago-juku, vous commencerez une randonnée de 8 km jusqu'à la prochaine ville de poste, en passant par des cascades rugissantes et des hameaux tranquilles le long du chemin. Gardez un œil ouvert sur la faune et les fleurs sauvages pendant que votre guide vous guide le long de ce qui était autrefois l'une des principales avenues de voyage au Japon. En arrivant au poste de poste de Magome-juku, vous aurez droit à une vue lointaine sur les champs et les montagnes en descendant au pied de ce village très vertical. Après avoir eu un peu de temps pour faire du shopping, vous monterez à bord du véhicule de tourisme et repartirez.

Itinéraire
Notre visite commencera sérieusement lorsque vous et votre guide descendez du bus à Tsumago-juku Post Town. Autrefois station vitale sur une route reliant Tokyo (alors appelée Edo) et Kyoto, l'apparence de la ville n'a pas changé depuis son apogée. Ici vous pouvez trouver des rues bordées de bâtiments traditionnels en bois qui ont été méticuleusement préservés par leurs habitants. Certains bâtiments sont ouverts à l'entrée et vous permettent de découvrir comment les gens voyageaient dans le vieux Japon.
Au départ de Tsumago, le trek du sentier Nakasendo commencera. Totalisant environ 8 km, ce sentier est un incontournable pour ceux qui cherchent à combiner une expérience de plein air avec une expérience culturelle. En chemin, vous aurez droit à des cascades à couper le souffle, des hameaux pittoresques et des vues spectaculaires sur les montagnes. Le sentier couvre une large gamme d'altitudes, alors préparez-vous à utiliser vos jambes et à faire circuler votre sang. Votre guide sera là pour s'assurer que vous ne vous perdez pas et pour vous aider à améliorer l'expérience avec des anecdotes opportunes et des anecdotes bien informées sur les sites que vous verrez en cours de route.
Une fois le trek Nakasendo de 8 km terminé, vous arriverez à Magome-juku, une autre ville étonnante sur le sentier Nakasendo. Plus verticale que Tsumago-juku, cette ville est située sur une colline escarpée offrant une vue sur les toits des bâtiments en contrebas et sur la plaine qui se trouve au pied du village. Il y a quelques boutiques de souvenirs et des endroits pour prendre une collation rapide ici, et votre guide vous donnera l'occasion de parcourir ces établissements à votre rythme.

Nagano : La prise en charge à la gare de Nagano se fait à l'intérieur de la gare de Nagano en face du panneau d'information juste en face des portes de sortie des trains à balles à 08h15. Le point de ramassage sera à l'extérieur de la sortie ouest de la station Matsumoto à 9h45, au bas de l'escalier roulant. Cherchez le Guide portant une étiquette Snow Monkey Resorts qui vous aidera à prendre le bus.

Alissa and Taka were amazing! We learned so much from them. We're not really tour people, and while we love hiking anyway, I think this experience is much better getting all the history and interesting information about the trail. Also the group size is pretty small which is really nice. Also Alissa and Taka found us as the meet up point right away, so that part was super easy.

Our experience was excellent. Alissa is extremely knowledgeable and clearly pointed out landmarks in such a way that we could enjoy them. She’s a delightful person who appealed to every one of our party, schoolteacher, professor and journalist. She answered all of our sometimes pesky questions. She respectfully kept us safe, moving along, and on time. Alissa is well connected to the social structure of the community. She knew the residents, shopkeepers and caretakers. Taka was an excellent presence as well, answering general questions about the prefecture and Japanese history and was a delight to be with. We’ve taken two other tours through TripAdvisor, in Australia and Portugal. This was even more fun than the others and we will definitely look for opportunities to book again.

This is truly a beautiful hike and Dillon really knew some interesting facts about the Nakasendo Trail. I absolutely loved this trip. You should be able to walk 5 miles and there are uphills and downhills to contend with. There’s a bathroom halfway and bathrooms at the beginning and end. Highly recommend hike for people in good health.
This is our second time to participate in the Chinese mountain road, from wife cage to horse cage along the beautiful landscape. Our guide this time was Jake, who very carefully and professionally explained the sights along the way. We love Jake's affinity.
It was a wonderful tour! Alissa was knowledgeable and provided a lot of historical and cultural context that would have eluded us otherwise. She was also attentive throughout the tour and was mindful of our pace, especially during the more challenging sections of the trail. Our driver Nishi-san was also friendly and warm.
Dillon was great. Highly recommend this trip for those that enjoy hiking and history. While you can do this own your own, public transit isn’t easy in this area and the guided tour made it much easier, relaxing, and enjoyable.

Lovely walk from Tsumago to Magome with our congenial group of 12 + our guide Kieron. I enjoyed stopping for snacks and sights at the start and end. Long drive to get there, but worth it to experience part of the Nakasendo trail.
