Travelling North

A great opportunity to get into the rainforest and learn about its intricacies from someone with expert knowledge. It was disappointing that the trip was advertised as being able to swim in the Mossman Gorge, yet when it rains it is not safe. And it rains often, and was raining the day I was there. Our guide told us not to swim. I also found out after the trip that it is a sacred Aboriginal site, so swimming isn't appropriate. I'm glad I didn't swim, but it is a shame that the site is not respected as an Aboriginal sacred site. Also, one of the tour highlights at the cultural centre was a smoke ceremony and introduction to local Aboriginal culture. This lasted for around 5mins. Although a very interesting part of the tour, it was not what I expected. The Daintree River cruise was beautiful and we saw some birdlike and 3 crocodiles. A highlight was walking through the rainforest track at Cape Tribulation and learning about the flora & fauna.

Great trip with good guide

This trip was great and guide was great.Crocodiles were exciting. Only thing that I would mayby do my self differently,if had time to do it,make it a 2 day tour (it was a bit busy + long day for 7 year old).

Réponse de l'opérateur

Thanks so much for your kind words, Sini! We’re really glad you enjoyed the trip and got to see some exciting crocodiles! We also really appreciate your feedback about the pace of the day. There really are so many beautiful spots to see in the region, so we do try to include as much as possible to give everyone a great overall experience. That said, we completely understand it can feel like a big day, especially for younger travellers, and a two-day option can be a great way to slow things down. If you ever decide to visit again, we do offer an overnight Daintree tour, which gives a more relaxed pace and extra time to take everything in. Thanks again for coming along, and we hope to see you again on another adventure sometime 😊

Day tour.

Unfortunately, we encountered a partially rainy day. As a result, the viewpoints were not particularly impressive at times, as visibility was limited, but this changed throughout the day, and from my perspective, a short stop could have been made on the way back. Of course, I understand that the entire tour is scheduled with various program points, but here I would have wished for a bit more flexibility. Otherwise, it was a good tour in a comfortable bus with some information about the local history and the rainforest.

Thanks so much for your feedback and for coming along on the tour! Sorry the weather didn’t quite play ball early on, we totally get how that can take away from the views. That said, the rainforest does rely on the rain to stay as lush and beautiful as it is, even if it doesn’t always line up with sightseeing plans 😊We’re glad to hear you still enjoyed the day overall, especially the comfy bus and the info about the local history and rainforest. Thanks again, and hopefully we can welcome you back next time with perfect weather!

Fantastic experience thanks to Ron and our crocodile tour!

We had a fantastic time in the Rainforest. Our guide, Ron, took us to all these amazing spots and kept us entertained and fascinated with interesting facts and stories. We also really enjoyed our ride along the Daintree river where we saw tons of crocodiles and got so close while again learning so many things about them. Nature was just stunning and the burritos we had for lunch were amazing too! Thanks again to Ron, we had so much fun and would definitely do this again!

Felt like waste of money

The trail and the locals are absolutely stunning, but except the Cairns river crocodile boat ride you hardly get any time anywhere. Most of the time goes in pick ups and drops. I appreciate the need for safety but the person was scaring almost to a level of threatening in all the places and ruining any fun. The trip felt more like advertisement for the ice-cream factory where you get maximum time. In the name of wildlife we only saw a stick insect. All the places are truly amazing, even the crocodile boat ride is fantastic. I would highly recommend doing it on your own with safety in mind. But wouldn't recommend this.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback, we really do appreciate it. We’re glad to hear you found the locations, locals, and the crocodile cruise to be stunning and enjoyable. We’re sorry to hear that the overall experience didn’t quite meet your expectations. Our tours do cover quite a bit of ground in a day, which means there can be more time spent travelling than some guests anticipate. We try to balance this with a variety of highlights along the way, but we understand this may not suit everyone. In terms of your experience with the guide, we’re disappointed to hear that it came across as overly intense. Our team always prioritises safety above all else, especially in environments where conditions can change quickly or pose hidden risks. That said, we aim to deliver this in a way that still allows guests to feel relaxed and enjoy the experience, so your feedback is very valuable to us. Regarding the stops along the way, including the ice-cream stop and wildlife expectations, we appreciate your honesty and will continue working on how we structure the day to better balance time across each location. We’d really welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience further and learn more about your concerns. If you’re open to it, please feel free to reach out to us at info@cairnsadventuregroup.com.au. Thank you again for your feedback, and we do hope to have the chance to provide you with a more enjoyable experience in the future

Daintree Day Tour: Diverse Landscapes and a Memorable River Cruise

Here’s a polished English travel review for your Daintree day, in a consistent style: ⸻ An early start and a long, tiring day — but absolutely worth it for the sheer diversity of landscapes packed into one trip. The journey through the Daintree region felt like moving through completely different worlds within a single day: coastal beaches, dense tropical rainforest, winding rivers, and endless green wilderness all stitched together in one continuous landscape. It’s rare to experience such a dramatic shift of environments in such a short time. One of the highlights was the Daintree River Wildlife Cruise. Our guide was fantastic — constantly scanning the riverbanks and pointing out wildlife with impressive patience and enthusiasm. We were lucky enough to spot several crocodiles along the way. They were completely still, almost prehistoric in how motionless they appeared, but seeing them in their natural habitat made the experience genuinely memorable and worth it. Although the day was long and physically exhausting, the combination of rainforest atmosphere, river exploration, and coastal scenery made it feel like a full immersion into one of Australia’s most unique ecosystems.

A great day out

We had a wonderful experience on the Cape Tribulation trip. Our tour guide, Andrew, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful throughout the day. He shared so much interesting information about the area and made the whole trip enjoyable and well organised. Cape Tribulation is absolutely beautiful, and the tour was a fantastic way to explore it. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the region!

Great Daintree/Tribulation/Gorge outing.

Fantastic day. I booked through Calypso Tours. We went to all three spots, and had plenty of time at each location. The weather was rainjng on and off, but that did not dim the experience at all. We were taken to a "famous" icre cream place, but i woukd skip it. The ice cream shop in Port Dougkas is much better. The Guide, John was super nice and professional. A very decent lunch was provided at a restaurant. 10/10!

Cheers for leaving such a lovely review! Thanks for the 10/10 rating! We appreciate your feedback on the ice cream, and we'll definitely take it on board :)
