The driver was great, but everything else was terrible. Since I speak Arabic, the guide tried to save money by buying my entry tickets as an Egyptian (the price for Egyptians is way lower than for a foreigner) which caused problems at every venue because they asked for proof of citizenship. I booked this tour from Canada with entry fees included, so the guide was basically trying to scam her own people and company. Her explanations were awful; I couldn't understand a word. We felt rushed, and the lunch she ordered was terrible. And seriously, what's a trip to Alexandria without a walk along the Corniche by the sea? I'd recommend finding a better way to experience Alexandria. Our tour was on May 12th, and we were picked up from Giza.
driver coughs repeatedly without cover. Due to healing mobility issues I chose 3 sites and skipped 2. Online it says each stop is 1 hout. Stop 1 I had to be back in 25 minutes. Stop 2 He kept driving, saying there's nothing to see there. So i had to tell him to turn around. Had to be back in 20 minutes. Stop 3 Alexandria Library, was given 1 hour, could have spent more time there. Found a lunch place yet that was on Egyptian time so we went somewhere else. Then he said, "If we went to my place we would have already eaten." He is not nice to restaurant staff. He takes a cigarette from my pack that is laying on my bag. While he is doing it, he says, "I am going to take a cigarette ok." We eat, me thinking we stop at the restaurant, i wanted to pick up a fish sandwich, he just keeps on walking. Then he snaps his fingers at me to pay 10 egp for the parking while i just paid for his food. On the way back he has time to stop at his friends place for coffee. He had to add, "Normally I would have passed here sooner." The closer we got to the hotel, the more lively he became. Great experience with a great Guide - Reem and Driver Ibrahim. Reem was very knowledgeable and helped answer any questions about the great history.
The trip is long but comfortable because it goes by highway and comfortable car. Halfway there is a stop for breakfast (at the client's expense, of course) and going to the bathroom. The guide was very friendly and told us many interesting things. It was a shame not to enter the Roman theatre and not to stroll along the promenade (cirniche).
We were left stranded I called to confirm several times and even the day before!!! They refused to return my deposit
good drive. good tour. We only order the drive. only one problem. the drive takes us to the restaurant, and it can only order set. But you can reject and leave.
It's a good hit and back for those who want to see some points of Alexandria. It's a long trip but it's been worth it for us. Good cost x benefit
Great tour. The sites were amazing. The history of the city with the castle, the underground catacombs, the mosque, the Mediterranean Sea, the Library and seeing the locals.
Very nice tour of Alexandria. Driver, Wahid, was great and the tour guide, Mohammad, did a great job. Be prepared for the long drive, and the Egyptian traffic. But, overall worth the effort and price.
Awful - do not waste time or money if coming from Cairo. 1) ‘10h itinerary with 1h in each site’. I spent no more than 10-15 minutes at all sites except citadel. Left Alex within 3.5h of arriving. Spent most of time in back of dirty car (inside and out!) with no AC! Picked up 6am, arrive Alex 930am. Left Alex at 1pm. In Alex for 3.5h, with no more then 1h-1.5 at sites total. Felt very rushed. 2) Guide not very knowledgeable. Guide shared 1-2 facts then was left to ‘explore’, explore what? Had to really question guide to get information, even then it was lacking. 3) Lunch? Served smell bowl of koshary at corner of busy junction during peak traffic. Covered in exhaust fumes. Meal cost no more than 60EGP yet I paid a premium for lunch in my ticket? Daylight robbery! 4) Car was not ‘latest model’. Other groups on same private tour (confirmed by guide) were in nice, new, spacious (4x4) and **washed** cars. My car was dirty both outside and in! 5) No water given
