Great

Fab time. We were picked up from our hotel. It was not on the drop down list when we booked but this was not a problem. The guide was very good. We had paid to go inside the great Pyramid..............certainly a great way to warm up, as everybody came out sweating. The history was fascinating and all questions answered. There are cheaper tours, but we had our own guide. Some guides were less knowledgeable as we discovered elsewhere, and some had poor English. We could not have done better

Réponse de l'opérateur

Dear travelers, The most useful observation in your review for future travelers is this one: "Some guides were less knowledgeable as we discovered elsewhere, and some had poor English." That comparison — which you made during your own trip, not from secondhand reports — is exactly the data point that other browsers can't find on a listing description without it sounding promotional. Guide quality in Egypt varies enormously, and the variation isn't always visible until you're standing on the Giza plateau being told something vague when you wanted something specific. The fact that you came away with the conclusion that "we could not have done better" — after seeing the alternative in real time — is the version of the recommendation that actually carries weight. Three other things in your review deserve a response. First, the hotel pickup. The drop-down list on the booking platform is a closed set; the real list of hotels we pick up from covers essentially every hotel in greater Cairo. The booking system doesn't know that, which is why situations like yours come up — and the right answer is the one you got: handled, no friction. Second, the inside-the-Great-Pyramid choice. Most travelers skip it. The ones who pay the extra fee almost always describe it the way you did — physically intense, slightly disorienting, "everybody came out sweating" — and almost always say they'd do it again. The pyramid interior isn't an architectural showcase; it's a small, cramped, oxygen-poor space that puts you in physical contact with the engineering question the monument actually poses: how was this built, and what was it for. It rewards the curious. Third, "all questions answered" — that's the part of guiding that doesn't fit on a listing description and is the difference between a tour and an explanation. We're glad your guide delivered that. The guide's name wasn't logged in your review, but we'll trace your booking to identify them and pass your words along directly. If Egypt ever calls you back, the natural next step from a Giza half-day is the Upper Egypt arc — Luxor, Aswan, Abydos — where the same guide quality extends across more days, and the sites have less of the variable-quality day-tour traffic you noticed in Cairo. Thank you for the review, and for taking the time to note the comparison; it's more useful to other travelers than uniformly positive endorsements. — The Tree of Life Tours team

The tour to the pyramids with Eraky was amazing and exceeded all our expectations. As an true egyptologist he was extremely knowledgable and had a great sense of humor. We could not recommend this tour enough! Thank you so much! Carly and Sina

Absolutely recommended!

We just had 1 day to spend in Cairo and this was the best option. Basim and Ashraf picked us up at the hotel and spend with us the whole day. They were the best guides ever! Outstanding History knowledge and excellent English. They were really committed with our safety and well-being, very friendly and made us fell very comfortable. They went above and beyond to give us advise as to where to visit and what to do in Cairo and Egypt.

Amazing experience

An incredible tour with a spectacular guide called Sabry Hashim he explained us quite a lot about the pyramids with great emotion and always making his breaks to be able to take very funny photos, explaining curious matters. Excellent tour.

Amazing activity with fees included and awesome Tour guide Amaal Hussein

We recently went to see the Pyramids in Egypt an had an amazing experience in this half day tour which included all the fees to enter the pyramids and the camel ride. Our guide Amaal Hussein was very nice, knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. My mother loved having her as our guide and next time we go back to Egypt we'll definitely look for her.

Excellent tour, excellent guide

Our tour with Ahmed Eraky was a highlight of our trip. We were promptly picked up at our hotel, Eraky kept us informed from the moment our drive began, and made the traffic barely noticeable. Our guide was excellent with helping us avoid local pitfalls at the pyramids (literal and figurative), took great photos and was entirely accomodating. We went to local papyrus and perfume shops, watched demonstrations, an had a delicious kosheri lunch. I would recommend this tour and guide to anyone visiting the pyramids at Giza.
