Nagda est situé à côté du lac Bagela à une distance de 23 km au nord-ouest d'Udaipur sur la route de Nathdwara. Nagda comprend de nombreux petits et grands temples, mais l'attraction principale est acquise par ses temples «Sahastra Bahu».

Votre visite commence par un ramassage matinal depuis votre hôtel à Udaipur, suivi d'un trajet en voiture jusqu'à Eklingji, situé à environ 20 km de la ville.
À votre arrivée au temple Eklingji, passez quelques heures à explorer le célèbre complexe du temple. Le temple Eklingji est un complexe de temples hindous situé à Kailashpuri, Udaipur, Rajasthan, et est le Kula Devata de la dynastie Mewar. Construit à l'origine par Bappa Rawal au VIIIe siècle, le temple a été détruit par les invasions du Sultanat de Delhi. Au XIVe siècle, Hamir Singh rénove le temple et y installe la première idole existante. Rana Kumbha l'a reconstruit au XVe siècle, ajoutant un temple Vishnu. Après une attaque de Ghiyath Shah à la fin du XVe siècle, Rana Raimal reconstruit le temple en utilisant la rançon de Ghiyath Shah. Appartenant d'abord à la secte des Pashupata, elle est ensuite passée sous le contrôle de la secte des Nath au XVIe siècle. Après la fin de votre visite Eklingji, vous passerez à Nagda.
Les temples Sahasra Bahu (également appelés temples Sasbahu) de Nagda, au Rajasthan, sont une paire de temples hindous du dédiés à Virabhadra. Ils partagent une plate-forme, avec le temple plus grand entouré de dix sanctuaires subsidiaires et le plus petit de quatre. Les temples présentent une architecture Māru-Gurjara, avec un sanctuaire, un mandapa, un porche ouvert et des shikharas en brique. Alors qu'une grande partie de l'extérieur est unie, les intérieurs et les porches sont somptueusement sculptés. Le temple plus petit a un shikhara restauré, tandis que les vestiges plus grands sont tronqués. Les temples sont localement connus sous le nom de Sas Bahu, une corruption de Sahasra-Bahu (signifiant « Un avec mille bras », une forme de Vishnou). Nagda était autrefois une ville importante de Mewar, peut-être une capitale. En 1226, Iltutmish détruit Nagda. Salim was an excellent tour guide and considerate and safe driver. He took me to numerous sites in the beautiful countryside north of Udiapur. Places which would have been difficult to visit on public transport. He was very knowledgeable and provided excellent English descriptions of the historical, cultural and religious significance of the sites of Eklingji and Nagda. It was a morning well spent and I highly recommend this tour.

Our driver was SALIM. He did an excellent job of communicating the night before and was on time to pick us up and took us to all the places that we were scheduled to go and showed us a few extra things as well. We enjoyed talking with him and his English was very good. Very smooth and easy experience.

The tour with Salim is a fantastic way to spend your time in Udaipur. Salim took us to magical spots off the beaten path. I highly recommend visiting these two temples. Mr. Sajid was a kind and helpful driver, giving some historical information along the way. He even took us to a few other nice places that were well worth visiting and weren’t even part of the tour.

I took this tour a few days ago and it was wonderful. I recommend the took took just for the fun scenery, but it’s a lot of highway driving so the car would also be a great option. We visited several temples, many of which had no tourist and were wide open to explore and take pictures absolutely beautiful highly recommend.

Salim was an excellent tour guide, he took me via the backroads through a picturesque farming village to both temples. A true taste of India and a stunning tour that should not be missed. I felt safe and was treated to an extra by way of a beautiful garden with all the history carefully explained by Salim. Well worth it!
