Description

Wonderful experience! Number “one” was fantastic. Then fish grilled dock side was a treat. How can you not like fishing while whales are swimming by.
This is a fun activity and well worth the time and money. We got to see some whales and the guide is great along with his team and boat. Hot chocolate and coffee and cookies are a very nice touch. We had an excellent time.
It was a very exciting whale watching experience. We saw many whales and took a lot of photos. The only concern is that the port for whale watching is a 25 min drive from Akureyri cruise terminal, so you need to arrange transportation in advance. If the company could provide transportation to the port, that would be a perfect trip.
Such an amazing experience. Friendly workers, we caught three cod, saw at least 10 whales, and really enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend this tour. For those cruising, they do have a bus that picks you up at the cruise terminal and drives you to the location.
Fun experience on a traditional Icelandic boat. About 25 minutes from Akureyri - a little out of the way but totally worth it. We were given water proof suits as well. We boarded the boat and travelled out a bit before seeing a Humpback Whale. Staff was friendly and kind always pointing out in which directly we should look for the whale watching. We also were offered coffee/hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls sort of cookies which was a nice touch. Tour is definitely an option for those with mobility issues as you go up a small ramp to enter the boat. Plenty of seating available as well. Not too crowded. Highly Recommend!
Wooden boat trip to see the whales. We saw one that we observed for almost 30 minutes. On the way back we saw calves and dolphins. Hot drinks and cookies served on board.
We visited in March 2025. This is apparently the oldest whale watching tour operator in Iceland. Everything was well organised - they gave us insulated overalls but it is still important to wear warm clothing if doing this tour in winter. We had longjohns and insulating tops plus chemical hand and foot warmers plus balaclavas and two beanies each. We did get to see a humpback whale from 50m which was super. Did the angling too but caught nothing. Beautiful experience overall stunning surroundings too
We found whales (humpbacks) almost right away, and were with them most of the time. We thoroughly enjoyed the whale watching, and that gets 5 stars. The reason for the 4 stars is the fishing felt fairly misleading, as we only fished for maybe 15 min (that's being generous) and there were too few poles to people ratio so we barely got to fish as we didn't get a pole right away. Also you can no longer keep the fish and eat them at the restaurant. I should've dug into that deeper but I thought that was still the case, however it is not.
Just spectacular, we saw 7-8 whales, even 3 from VERY close up. Everything is very well prepared, they give you a monkey, they give you hot chocolate or coffee, and some sweet cookies that are very good. We did the tour with fishing and took 3 cod, to take the picture and then release them. 100% recommended this tour and this company.
Beautiful experience, despite the cold, The whale sighting has been Spectacular, we were offered a great hot chocolate and delicious cinnamon cookies. We even fished before returning to the port. Highly recommended
