Excursion aventure en kayak dans la Bio Bay de Porto Rico

Description

Our guide Johnny was great. Beautiful and calm environment in the lagoon
Although we didn’t get to see the bioluminescence, it was absolutely perfect! They called us saying that it might not glow so we could back out but we decided to go anyway because the kayaking and sunset was worth it! The guides were personable and very knowledgeable. They even got us in the bay and out of the bay missing the crowds. So overall great experience!
The experience with the guides and the organization of it was outstanding. The guides were prepared and knowledgeable. The price was reasonable. The time was relative to the experience. If you have limited experience with kayaking and are not enthusiastic about the experience do not go. One of the guides, Jensen, was an absolute angel. He navigated us when it was late and super dark. This man was so helpful. It was such a long activity that for me personally I would not repeat it again. All the guides are helpful and truly experts.
We had an awesome time! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to experience the “glow” as we had hoped for but we all enjoyed ourselves anyways!
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Rico! The bioluminescent bay kayaking tour was an unforgettable experience. Seeing the water glow around our paddles was absolutely magical and seeing all the creatures at night was second to none. What really made the experience exceptional was the staff. They were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. They were very accommodating especially for someone such as myself who is handicap (missing 1 arm and 1 leg). Their enthusiasm and positive attitude made the trip even more enjoyable. We would absolutely do it again!
This was an amazing experience! None of us had ever kayaked before, and I went with my twin teenagers. Our guides, Jonathan, Julio, and Jenson, were friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and made the entire trip enjoyable from start to finish. They made us feel completely safe and confident on the water. We didn't end up seeing the bioluminescence, but the company was upfront with us that morning about the low chances of seeing it and even gave us the option to cancel. We really appreciated their honesty, and we're so glad we decided to go anyway. The nighttime kayaking experience itself was unforgettable! The location was easy to find, with a nearby park that has restrooms and a few restaurants, which made everything very convenient. The snacks provided at the end were a nice bonus and the perfect way to wrap up the tour. I highly recommend this tour. Even if nature doesn't cooperate, the guides and the overall experience make it well worth it!
The guide was great. He was funny and very personable. I was dissapointed with the tour. The main reason of the tour was to see the bioluminicent water in the bay. I have been in this bay before (5 years ago) and it had the best light effect. You were able to see the fish under water swim and light up the water. The colors were bright. This time we had the best weather and conditions to be able to see the effects in the water. It was sad to see no effect. The worst was that the tour company knew what was going on. They carried tarps to cover the group for it to be able to see the light in the water. This did not work at all. There was no lights. The tour company should not advertised this tour. It was a great dissapointment. It was great to kayak in the night and observed the stars. Just to let you know if you want to see the bioluminicent lights do not go to this bay. The same goes with the Parguera. Please stop and let the bay replenish and restore itself.
Wonderful guides- so fun!!! While we didn’t see the bioluminescence-probably related to weather- it was still worth the trip. The amount of time was perfect. The mangroves were so interesting to see. Group size was also appropriate. The guides were helpful as I practiced my Spanish.
Participants paddle kayaks across a small bay, then through a mangrove forest through a narrow channel which feeds Laguna Grande, known for its bioluminescent algae. It does require some amount of upper body strength and coordination, but we were in a group with elementary school age kids who seemed to do just fine. One caveat is that Sargassum seaweed levels are high and the bay is thick with it, and smell- or texture-sensitive folks may find it difficult to tolerate. Caveat number two is to know that the bioluminescence is low at the moment (June 2026). It's a little underwhelming to reach the lagoon only to see nothing at first. That said, the guides worked hard to make the experience as full as possible, and passed around a tarp to allow us to block out light pollution and see the glow of the algae. Our way back was affected by the tide rising, increasing the current into the lagoon and requiring much harder work to keep the kayaks straight and moving forward. My partner and our 14-year-old got stuck in the mangrove channel along with another kayak. One of the guides went the extra mile to get them back to land and was a total professional. They are clearly used to working with tourists who have never kayaked before and are prepared to help in any way they can. Although there were some aspects of the experience that were less than ideal, i..e. the low bioluminescence and the overgrown Sargassum, the tour company did everything right and I don't hesitate to recommend them completely.
The guides were super knowledgeable and made the tour fun and engaging! The company was professional and the tour was definitely a highlight of our vacation.
