We wanted to try Cambodian street food - eat what the locals eat where they eat (as opposed to tourist restaurants) - but didn’t know how best to do this. We picked this tour because the reviews we saw online were excellent and Sam being both the owner and guide, we figured we could be assured of the quality. Indeed, the tour did not disappoint. Sam picked us up from our hotel in a remorque; the tour group was just us. We were able to try num bahnchok, curry noodles, nom krouk, banh chev, BBQ pork ribs, as well as local pickles and insect snacks, in a variety of settings - at local eateries, along the street, and at a night market. Sam explained what each dish was made of and how to eat it like a local would. Everything was arranged smoothly, including Sam calling ahead to make sure the food would be waiting for us. Bonus point: Sam was personable and engaging. All in all, a very enjoyable and educational experience - highly recommend!
Thank you for your thoughtful and generous review Clairsse. It was my pleasure to meet you and be your guide. It is especially rewarding for me to guide someone who is so interested and keen to learn about food tour. I love my country and culture and hope I can share more with you if you visit again. We can do Bespoke Tours/ Customized Tours Upon Request. Many thanks. Sam Ang
The flavours of Cambodia are unique. With Mr. Sam you get the best service. He can arrange for good vegetarian dishes too. His recommendations of tofu amok is my favorite.
Many thanks Mr. Blake for your kind review. I am glad that you enjoyed with this tour. I hope to see you again in Phnom Penh. Kind regards, Sam
We had an amazing time. It would have taken us months to discover some of the gems our guide took us to. He was amazing and was so passionate about food. Really good value for money. Make sure you are hungry when you go because you are going to eat some serious food ! You will swill it all down with a cocktail st a vibrant bar with live music . A whole street full of amazing bars really good vibe Good yo go back to later. We would never of found this place. If you are on the fence just book it you will not be disappointed Ask for Sam he has twin daughters

Sam was a great host. We visited many interesting restaurants and places of interest in Phnom Penh. It is more than a food tour.

Sam picked us up at our hotel. He was friendly. We went to multiple place to try multiple different Cambodian dishes. There was lots to eat. Sam provided water or beer on the tuk tuk. Every place we ate at the food was good. We also got some coconut milk ice cream at the night market. All and all a great tour and a great way to try multiple Cambodian dishes.
Thank you so much Mr. Chadd & Ms. Kecylen for your very kind review. I am very happy that both of you enjoyed my evening food tour. I wish both of you good luck and stay healthy. I hope you will come back to visit Cambodia again. Orkun Chran! Sam Ang
Sam took the two of us (my son and I) on a trip to Oudong the former capital of Cambodia during the post-Angkorian period (1618–1863). A good drive from Phnom Penh, but comfortable and pleasant because Sam's driver was skilled. Sam also took the opportunity to provide valuable information at this time. During the trip we made comfort, coffee and lunch stops which were well-timed and taken at a leisurely pace. Reaching Oudong was special because as well as the stupas of Khmer kings of the period, it features one of the most stunning Buddhist temples currently in use in Cambodia with monks and nuns lodged in simple accommodation. The trip finished with a visit to a silversmith from whom after he explained her processes and the huge local employment they provided sold us some very attractive personal jewellery. The whole experience was rounded off with a very substantial and relaxed dinner meal at an exellent restaurant. Finally, for me the best feature was Sam's substantial knowledge of the history of his country which he drew upon at various points of our tour. Well worth while and great for the cost.
Thank you so much Dr. Christopher for your very kind and meaningful review. I am glad that you and your son( Mr. David) enjoyed my Oudong Mountain Tour. I hope to see both of you again in Phnom Penh. With best regards, Sam Ang Kesar- Kesor Khmer Tour, Phnom Penh
Joined the evening street food tour with Sam and his very good new assistant, Michael. Good food and a fine cocktail. A very pleasant evening.
We really appreciate your kind feedback and support traditional Khmer’s Food. We’re happy to hear you had a great experience, and we hope to welcome you again on another tours soon. 😊 With best regards, Sam
This is my go-to tour in Cambodia! Every year I return to travel through Phnom Penh city and I book tours with Khmer Tours. The guide Mr.Sam is one of a kind. His friendly nature assures me the sites are comfortable to view. I recommend this tour for adventure seekers, cultural enthusiasts and artisans. Sam knows the city and its people very well. Ask for a morning coffee run and enjoy local cuisine. The Oudong mountain tour is my favorite because it’s an experience unlike others. When you go with Khmer Tours you can safely transit to this historic site and listen to Mr. Sam talk of the local history. More than a hike it’s a step into Cambodian lifestyle and heritage. Highlights we suggest: Hotel pick up and drop off Morning Coffee / tea Round trip ride to market English speaking guide Local interactions and praise Friendly atmosphere Suitable for varying age groups Beautiful photography Cultural gem

Great food and company, Sam shares his love for Cambodian food, visited places we would never have found otherwise. Thoroughly recommended.
