Il s'agit de la seule visite à pied de paysages hollandais dans la région de Leiden, qui est également proche des champs de fleurs hollandais. Cette visite peut également être combinée avec une visite des champs de fleurs hollandais près de Leiden (dans le véhicule)

Au cours de cette visite à pied, nous n'oublions pas de visiter quelques anciens moulins à vent de l'extérieur, qui servaient à pomper de l'eau pour récupérer des terres. Certains d'entre eux sont le moulin à vent Broekdijk et le moulin à vent Boterhuis. Le travail des moulins à vent a fait en sorte que la Hollande ne soit pas inondée d'eau de mer. Cette ancienne technique peut être apprise très simplement une fois que vous voyez comment fonctionne un moulin à vent. Nous passons également devant un terrain de golf où la beauté naturelle est abondamment visible.
C'est aussi l'une des attractions que nous rencontrons lors de notre visite. Le moulin à vent de la ville de Leiden, situé à la périphérie de la ville, a également été utilisé pour pomper l'eau et récupérer des terres. Il a également été utilisé dans une autre phase pour fabriquer du grain. Nous visitons ce moulin à vent également de l'extérieur et passons environ 10 à 15 minutes.
Au début de cette visite à pied, nous marchons vers la rivière Zijl à travers un quartier calme. Au cours de cette partie, vous voyez l'architecture des maisons et des appartements hollandais typiques. La rivière Zijl est une rivière de taille moyenne qui traverse le sud et l'ouest de la Hollande à travers les polders. Il a un paysage pittoresque où les gens peuvent profiter toute l'année. Nous longeons cette rivière vers les polders et les moulins à vent où nous prendrons quelques photos.
La visite à pied se terminera par une visite de la ferme pour enfants dans la région des lacs. Ici, vous voyez plus d'animaux de la ferme que vous ne verrez pas dans votre pays d'origine. Le guide vous amènera enfin au point de départ où vous prendrez le bus ou votre propre moyen de transport pour revenir. Notez que la visite à pied dans le Merenwijk à Leiden est l'une des visites à pied uniques aux Pays-Bas, que seules Holidays in Holland propose.
Le moulin à vent de Broekdijk est également un moulin à vent pittoresque situé dans le quartier de Merenwijk à Leiden. C'est aussi un moulin à vent que nous visiterons de l'extérieur et vous obtiendrez également une explication sur son fonctionnement au cours des siècles précédents. Le moulin à vent de Broekdijk est situé à côté d'un magnifique parcours de golf et également à côté du polder de Broek. Nous verrons également ces deux attractions.

Highly recommend this tour for nature and animal lovers. PJ is local to the area and provided some great background on the polders. He even brought a light breakfast to enjoy on our walk. Broekdijkmolen and the children's farm (which is surprisingly large, basically a zoo) were highlights.
Great walk in the park with a knowledgeable guide. Enjoyable easy pace well worth the time an effort. It was money and time well spent.

We enjoyed this walking tour of a calm lakeland area near Leiden which we would otherwise not have seen. PJ's communication before hand was very good, giving us clear instructions of how to get to the meeting point. Don't let the fact you have to travel to the start point put you off. It was an easy bus ride away and you just need to tap your credit/debit card at the start and end of the journey to pay for it. PJ explained very well to us how the windmills had worked in reclaiming the polder land. We were also able to gain a bit of an insight into the Dutch way of life. PJ also gave us some light refreshments. The walk was, of course, very flat and would be suitable for all ages. We really enjoyed the tour.

Pj is an affable and informative guide who knows the land and its history quite well. The land we walked was quite scenic, and I came away with a full understanding of how the polders came about and their importance today. The break for a cup of tea as well timed also. Recommend!

We had a very pleasant walk in the good company of our guide PJ. We walked along a river, saw a mill and a farm. We had explanations about the Netherlands and our environment (the polders and others). In conclusion, a soothing and instructive walk.
