Excursion en bateau d'observation des dauphins et des grottes de Benagil au départ de Portimão

Description

Had a lot of fun on the excursion. Greatly organized, super tour guide. Also very accommodating. We weren't sure until the end if we would make it on time, but the people were super friendly and even offered to wait a bit if it got tight. But everything worked out.
The guides were very friendly but did not give any detailed explanation about the dolphins and the formation of the caves. The excursion was advertised in French, but there were only explanations in English. Windbreakers: advertised in the description, but nonexistent. We were lucky enough to see several dolphins, and the trip through the caves, despite the crowds, was very pleasant. Small boat for 12 people, it's great, but we were happy to get back to dry land after 2 hours and 30 minutes sitting on uncomfortable seats.
This was amazing! We were initially a tad nervous about boating so far out to sea (they told us it would be about 8-10 miles out) but then... we saw a WHALE! And then a couple of dolphins! The nerves quickly faded! We saw at least three different whales, one of which kept following us, and many dolphins! A group of dolphins and a whale stayed right with our boat for probably 15 minutes. It was majestic! The boat operator then drove us to a variety of stunning caves and natural coastline features, each one more beautiful than the last. It was a lovely way to view the coastline of Portimoa. Highly recommend!
Amazing experience; tour guides were fabulous and went above and beyond to make this a memorable experience. Loved it. Definitely recommend
Maria was fun, and a great host!
Mario and his crew were fantastic! They were very knowledgeable and made our tour a lot of fun. Myself and family enjoyed the experience completely. Would highly recommend this tour!
Our first booking was cancelled due to poor weather ( in May!!). Our 2nd booking was adapted for weather conditions but they offered a complimentary caves tour in addition to the dolphin watching. Superb service with great commentary and skipper. We got soaked with sea spray so wear a windchill jacket! Fabulous boat ride which felt faster than 16knots ( slower than usual due to a lumpy sea). Would definitely book again. The caves and coastline are beautiful with highlights pointed out by the crew.
Stop scrolling and book this—this was hands down one of the most memorable experiences we had in the Algarve. We booked with SeaDolphin a bit last-minute (which usually feels like a gamble), but Mario and his crew made it feel completely effortless. They guided us toward the best conditions to head out, and it paid off immediately—smooth water, stunning views, and the kind of timing you can’t fake. The coastline alone is worth it. Seeing the Benagil cave from the water—and weaving through the surrounding caves—feels less like sightseeing and more like being let in on a secret the cliffs have been keeping. And then… the dolphins. Not a polite little “there they are in the distance” moment. A full-on, moving, weaving, jumping pod—close enough to make you forget to take photos because you’re too busy grinning like an idiot. It was the kind of moment you don’t plan, you just get lucky enough to witness. Throughout it all, the team struck that perfect balance: professional, safety-first, but relaxed and genuinely fun to be around. We went in mid-March, which turned out to be ideal—great conditions, fewer crowds, and apparently dolphins in a very social mood. If you’re debating whether it’s worth it: it is. Easily one of the most memorable things we did in the area.
Seeing the dolphins up close was an indescribable experience, even the caves of Benagil are fantastic, the thunder lasted 2h and a half without hurry, even Jon and Maria super friendly and very kind. Absolutely recommended!
Top experience. Captain Milton and Bea were magnificent. We saw the dolphins and as a gift, we also had the company of a resident whale. I highly recommend this experience.
