I was a bit nervous booking a tour independently as I was just here by cruise, but so glad I did! did this tour with my mom, who's elderly and walks slowly, and it was great. ahmed from sun pyramid tours was very responsive on whatsapp before and after booking. the nile cruise lunch is actually on a docked ship, and not a moving ship, which I'm very grateful he told me before I paid (it would be helpful to clarify in the description), and we were able to add a felucca ride along the nile, which was fantastic. seeing the pyramids and sphinx was a great experience with the egyptologist (also named ahmed, and spoke very good english) giving info, guiding our path, and taking pics for us. if you are a nervous passenger, you might take issue with the driving in egypt. traffic looks chaotic and they drive aggressively, but i don't think our driver was really at fault. he didn't speak english, but he was very nice; though i didn't like that he looked at his phone a few times. the main thing i would improve is communication about pick-up. the sign with our name was a plain piece of paper with my name handwritten, which made me suspicious, since i was then brought to a regular car, not anything with a logo. i got into the car because i had a pic of the person who met us at the car over whatsapp. we got picked up by the driver and another person who i thought was the guide, whose english was rather poor, but far better than the driver who spoke almost none. i was concerned, but then we got to cairo and the actual egyptologist guide met us and he left. that would have been good to know at the start, since i was worried for the 3 hour ride to cairo. i was thrilled that i got a better package (felucca ride) at a lower price than i would have with the cruise excursion! thank you to ahmed and ahmed!

Excellent driver and guides who were very good on the explanations and tour as well as the transportation. Both the guides were excellent as well as the driver. Highly recommend tour team!
While I’m sure this could be a good tour, you should look for a different tour operator. Not as described in their promotion. This was a private tour. I clarified with them that transportation would still be a van since there were only two people and the confirmed a van. They stated we would be picked up at the port. We got out of the terminal and started looking for the guide who would have a sign with our name, nobody was around. I texted to ask where he was and he stated gate 10, we couldn’t see a gate 10. We asked around and were told It was outside the port. So we walked outside of the port. Lots of traffic. Again I asked where he was. He then asked for a picture of me. He walked across the street to and took us to a car, not the van. It stated they would provide water. About an hour into the drive i texted the tour operator and said we had no water and we were not in a van. He must have texted the driver who then stopped at a gas station to get us water. Just prior to entering Giza we picked up the tour guide that would guide us through the pyramids. He did a very good job with background information and it was an enjoyable visit to the pyramids. He told us not to buy anything from the vendors that were around that he would have better places for us. He then took us took an herb store where we had to listen to a presentation and then a sales pitch. He wanted to take us to two other stores that we had no interest in and we told him no. My husband said he only wanted to get a shot glass as he is a collector. He took us to one of his preferred shops. We picked out a shot glass and were ready to pay until I did the calculation from pounds to dollars. They were trying to charge us $40 for a shot glass. My husband said five but he would only take $10. Anxious to get out of the store we paid $10. Later at a vendor outside the ship we could have bought the identical glasses for two for $5. The next stop was lunch. The tour description said lunch on Nile cruise. There was no cruise just lunch on a ship in the Nile without even a view of the Nile. The tour director then made arrangements to have our ride back to Alexandria in a van which was a comfortable ride.
Our tour guide Ahmed Abdel Monem was fantastic. His knowledge was nothing less than impressive and ability to make us feel comfortable for the full duration of our tour was very much appreciated. Lunch was a nice sized tasty buffet. I would highly recommend this tour and in particular Ahmed as the guide!
