Le guide vous attendra à Tigre pour parcourir en voiture privée les célèbres rues pavées de San Isidro, sa cathédrale et les principaux points de la ville de Tigre, comme le Paseo Victorica, les musées et le casino. Le Fruit Port est une petite jetée sur les rives de la rivière Luján dans la ville de Tigre, à côté de laquelle se trouve le marché aux fruits. Ils doivent leur nom au fait que jusqu'au milieu du XXe siècle y débarquait la production de fruits du delta du Paraná, qui était ensuite commercialisée dans la ville de Buenos Aires.
Le Paseo Victorica est un lieu exceptionnel, alliant nature, vue sur le fleuve, gastronomie, clubs d'aviron et monuments historiques.
La cathédrale de San Isidro est un temple religieux de style néogothique. Il a adopté les formes dudit style utilisées en Europe entre le XIIe et le XVIe siècle, la seule différence étant que des matériaux et des techniques modernes ont été utilisés. Les plus caractéristiques de la cathédrale sont ses lignes élancées conçues à partir de la religiosité pour qu'elles pointent vers le ciel. Sa façade a été restaurée à l'imitation de la pierre et de la brique apparente avec des travaux de moulage des ornements d'origine dans un atelier. Sa tour principale mesure 68 m de haut. Sa base est une croix latine à trois nefs avec une abside circulaire. Les colonnes sont cylindriques et les murs de pierre et de brique ont des ouvertures avec des vitraux fabriqués en France et des rosaces gothiques. En entrant dans la cathédrale, sa grandeur s'apprécie à travers ses formes qui ressortent de sa dernière restauration. À l'intérieur, vous pouvez voir les colonnes et les arcs de style néo-gothique qui vous mènent à l'autel.
La Station Fluviale de Tigre, où nous pourrons profiter de ce que la ville a à nous offrir. After hearing from several people that we needed to visit the Tigre Delta we booked an afternoon private tour. We drove from the city center through Ave Libertador which was a very nice scenery, we stopped at San Isidro and saw the church and then proceeded to take a catamaran boat tour on the rivers Sarmientos and San Antonio. We were unable to walk around the San Fernando port area nor stop for lunch but it was a beautiful scenery.

The boat ride on the Tigre Delta (about 100 passengers n the boat) was pleasant and interesting. The "private tour" aspect was transportation to and from our hotel. Four of us were crammed uncomfortably into a small car. The driver spoke very little English, so there was not a lot of commentary about the sites in between the hotel and boat ride. Main activity was to try to sell us on a stop where we were supposed to purchase leather goods. We turned it down. In sum, would have been better to take a big bus tour.

We booked with Depasseios LLC (dp) for a city tour through Get Your Guide, and we had a great experience. Because of this, we went directly to the dp website to book the Tigre Delta tour. What a different experience, and not in a good way. They lost our reservation, and no tour guide showed up to pick us up at the scheduled time of 9am. Fortunately, we still had Luca, our city tour guide, on WhatsApp, and he was able to make contact with the office (none of the numbers we were provided with for dp worked), and they scrambled to find a guide for us who arrived at 10:15 am. The great news is that Diego, our eventual tour guide, was fantastic! We made it to Tigre by noon for the river tour, and we still had a successful day. At the end of the tour, Diego introduced us to El Ateneo Grand Splendid, an opera house converted into a bookstore, which we would have never found without Diego. So my rating is a 5 for Diego, and a 1 for Depasseios LLC, the tour company. That averages out to a 3.

This tour wasn’t what we expected. The guide picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Tigre. The guide seemed surprised that we expected him to get on the boat with us. He was just going to wait on the pier. Good thing he came, because the boat narrator didn’t say anything in English. Our guide was able to tell us what she said. The Tigre delta was not very picturesque. Mainly old houses along the river, most in bad repair.

Maurice was our guide and did a great job. He showed us the sites on the way to Tigre. The boat trip was very nice. It makes a loop through the delta. Very pretty area. We had beautiful weather for a boat ride. Lots of shade on the top level to enjoy the views. I highly recommend!
