Everything was perfect. The coordinator was easy to find right outside of the port. The bus ride was comfortable and only 30 minutes. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and moved at a comfortable pace. Pompeii speaks for itself. Absolutely worth doing and the best part is they do all of the legwork getting the tickets.
Our guide Francesco was amazing. We enjoyed this tour so much. Francesco has worked with the park as an archeologist and his perspective was a bonus. The park has little shade, so it was very hot and the walk is uneven with steps. If you have mobility issues, watch some videos before committing. It’s worth it though!
The trip was so well organised, meeting point at the port was easy to find, nice air conditioned bus and great tour guide. Very good excursion from Salerno, well worth the cost. Pompeii is about 30 minutes drive from Salerno, there were a huge number of people milling about on arrival but Daniella steered us through with ease. The tour really brought the trip to life. Highly recommend.
Guide was excellent. He was extremely knowledgable as he lived in Pompei and worked as an archeolgist.

Tour Operator was communicative, reaching out to ensure travellers were supported even before the start. The bus driver and Pompeii Guide, Daniella, was excellent, especially deftly moving us successfully in a very busy visitor day to Pompeii. Really just a taste of Pompeii, it actually needs a few days to cover completely. Only four stars because we didn’t know the bus would meet to Guide at the site, not the Hostess at the Port meeting us.

We had a wonderful trip. Our driver Alfonso was extremely knowledgeable and he made the trip to and from Pompei a real treat. He shared historical and local information with a great sense of humour. We were picked up right on schedule and driven with a high level of professionalism. Our tour guide in Pompei, Manuela, brought an ancient city alive for us. She is a fountain of information delivered with humour and sensitivity. In a short time period she chose information that she thought was most pertinent for us. Her professional easy going manner was a real treat.

Wear trainers, lots of walking and as it's ancient ruins it's ancient pavements mostly. Keep hydrated and listen to your guide as the info is excellent.

It is a bit of rough terrain but what do you expect for something this old :) Wear a sturdy pair of shoes, not strapped sandals.
