Both excursions were awesome.
Tour guide was super knowledgeable and friendly. There was a large group of people in our tour, but she was observant to all of us. I wish we did have more time in Pompeii because we didn’t get to see all of it- but that’s bc the Vesuvius part of the tour was about to start. Those who weren’t doing both tours had the option to stay the rest of the day in Pompeii. Vesuvius was just the right amount of time. Not a terrible hike up, but not the easiest walk either- stoping to catch a breathe with those beautiful views made it easier! Would definitely recommend!
We did the Vesuvius tour and Pompeii tour with Temple travel. In particular in Pompeii they provided us with an audio guide and our escort is called Mia, she accompanied us on an alternative tour, explaining how Pompeii lived and how they welcomed foreigners inside the city. It was very interesting and the two hours spent with her are very smooth. Nice tour, to do again.
Lina, the archaeological site guide, was perfect. Brilliant communicator, immensely knowledgeable across all aspects of the tour (history, geography, societal context, etc). Also, a great sense of humour!
Had Fantastic day with the boys our guide around pompeii was really good made the 2 hours exploring very interesting and He engaged with the boys too. We had time to enjoy bit of lunch and a drink before we got a coach up The Volcano. Our Driver was really good and gave us plenty time to climb last 1000 metres to the top. We booked trip before leaving uk only thing to remember is that you have to get the local train from Naples to Pompeii which can take about 45 to 60 minutes to get there. All in All it was well worth the money would recommend 👍👍
We waited for an hour with no communication from the staff on why. We had to leave our tour of Pompeii early or else we would have missed our train. If they had started on time we would have been able to see the whole two hour tour. The worst part was our guide we sitting next to us just speaking to other staff in Italian instead of informing us why the tour was starting so late. Very poor service
Dress for the weather. Bring water with you. Pace yourself. Wear good walking shoes and sunglasses. 👍🏻
Normal - bit disappointed with logistics and planning. Tricky to find the meeting point to get tickets and Pompei tour was not two hours. After gathering everyone and starting the tour we only had 1.5 hours tour in Pompei. description is misleading and there was not time for lunch given.
Dear Paul, we are sorry to read this, also because we think everything was correct in the description and the tour. Tour in Pompeii lasts 2Hours, including 10 minutes of intruduction and time for wearing headset. After the tour in Pompeii you should have free time because the tour for the Mount Vesuvius starts after an hour, but it depends if you were on time that morning. Best regards
Amazing to see all the ruins of Pompeii and guide was knowledgeable but rushing. We had my 74 yr old mother with us who struggled to keep up with the group and she did not wait and count everyone. If we were trailing too far back our radios did not transmit her comments so we missed a lot of what she had to say. Also, at one point we lost my husband bc she moved so fast from a location and when I told her he wasn’t with us she did not seem to care. Many things were wonderful about her tour and info though so I’m torn on the review. Transport to Mt Vesuvius was good and we had time to hike to the crater and back for the shuttle home which was great!
Our tour of the archeological site started 1 HOUR after the scheduled time. We had allowed ourselves some time to wander the site on our own after the scheduled tour but due to the delays by the tour company we felt extremely rushed which hindered our experience. The guide we had was knowledgeable and funny. It is such a shame the tour company was so disorganised
