De Pompéi : Dégustation de vin du Vésuve et déjeuner

A great experience. We did struggle a little with understanding what the tour guide on the buggy was saying as they were clearly very passionate but therefore spoke fast. The lunch and wine tasting was great- the food was amazing and the wines plentiful 🥂

This was not the venue we expected. It was exactly the same as a cheaper tour we had already done - just search Pompeii Vineyard Escape: Private Wine Tasting & Lunch. It's nowhere near Mt. Vesuvius and definitely not on the slopes. It is very much in Pompeii and on the opposite side of Pompeii to the route for Mt. Vesuvius. Our taxi driver was half an hour late, so we missed the tour. But we had already been to this Vineyard on the above mentioned tour, so it wasn't a problem for us. We booked this thinking it was a different Vineyard. You also do not meet the family and, whilst it is 'family owned' it is the Medici family who own it, so you won't be meeting them! Lol! However, I can't recommend the vineyard 'Bosco di Medici' enough. It is a beautiful setting and if you're lucky enough to get Matteo as your Sommelier, be prepared for a good time! It was my husband's 60 birthday and he arranged for a birthday cake (with candle) and all the sommeliers to sing him 'Happy Birthday' in Italian! The food was good as well. Unfortunately it was cut short by our taxi driver arriving an hour and a half early - then disappearing because we weren't expecting him so early so he felt we took too long coming out. So we bought more excellent wine, limoncello and olive oil, then the taxi arrived again. We did try to get a partial refund because it was not as sold, but this was rejected because we didn't do it within 24 hours (I waited until we were back home) and they removed my link to leave a review. They have also removed all the previous reviews, so I suspect that they have updated the page for this tour, but it is still misleading.

We had such a beautiful experience at Bosco De’ Medici Winery! We easily found the tour meeting point (right by the Pompeii train station), and our driver took us through town to the winery. It ended up being an intimate experience as my husband and I were the only ones on the tour and were able to sit for a private wine tasting and lunch—the winery is immaculate and the restaurant was beautiful. But, the people we met really made the day special! Virginia took us in a tour of the vineyards and explained the history of the winery—she was very knowledgeable and kind. Maddalena took us through the wine tasting—she is the sweetest woman! So funny and kind. We really enjoyed meeting her and spending the day. 11/10 recommend this tour!

Fantastic tour of the winery with Roberto who was very knowledgeable about the winery and its history. The wine tasting was with Giuseppe, who again was very knowledgeable about the wines and their production. Lovely meal.

The pick up details could have been more clear but once we arrived at the winery the staff was super fun and helpful!! Totally recommend this tour!

Wonderful experience! The tour was very short but it’s a very small vineyard so that’s to be expected. The wines were exceptional and our sommelier was very knowledgeable and gracious. We expected to be with a big group of people but it ended up being a completely private tour which was a nice surprise.

We do not recommand this tour at all. The experience at the vineyard was good and so were the wine and lunch. So nothing bad to say about the winery itself. However I recommand that you simply book a taxi and go visit the vineyard by yourself since the service offered by the provider was poor. Basically, the pick-up location was not the right one and instruction were not accurate. Had a tough time reaching the company. When they finaly answered, they only act as a taxi, sending someone to pick us up. It is very expensive for a bad taxi service.

The Winery was fabulous although it was not on the mountain as advertised but round the corner from where we were staying in Pompeii. The travel company was very poor and I would not recommend them. I would however recommend the wine tasting lunch at Medici.

We brought our teenage kids to taste wine on Mt Vesuvius after a morning in Pompeii! It was a perfect wrap up. The tour of the winery was interesting. The lunch was great. Just enough food and the wines were excellent! We left alllll smiles! The only reason for my less than 5 star rating is given other wine tasting and lunch experiences I’ve had this was a bit expensive given the lunch offering. The food was excellent. Don’t get me wrong. But given the $100+ per person expense it should have been more extensive or less expensive.

We had a really beautiful afternoon. There was nothing we would change. The wine and food was exceptional. The staff were attentive and invested in the vineyard.
