Tiger Hill est le point culminant de la région de Darjeeling. Un voyage tôt le matin pour assister au lever du soleil est un must. Regarder le soleil levant frapper le colossal mont. Batasia Loop est stratégiquement situé pour offrir une vue panoramique sur la montagne au-delà. Dans la boucle se trouve un mémorial de guerre qui commémore les âmes courageuses qui ont scarifié leur vie en Inde pendant diverses guerres depuis 1947. Adjacent au mémorial se trouve un marché local où les visiteurs peuvent acheter des sacs à main, des sacs et d'autres objets décoratifs.
Juste en dessous de la gare de Ghoom, à environ 8 km, loin de la ville de Darjeeling, Yiga Choling est le plus grand des "Trois Monastère" de Darjeeling. Construit en 1875 par Lama Sherab Gyatso, ses images de contenu de divinités bouddhistes et de lamas, tels que Chen Rezig le bouddhiste de la compassion et Tsongkhapa le fondateur de la secte Geluvpa. Le monastère contient également une énorme image de 15 pieds de Jampeyang, le Bouddha du futur. Une grande collection de textes liturgiques comprend le 108_volume Kangyur, le canon bouddhiste tibétain.

On peut voir toute la chaîne du mont Kanchenjunga en étant assis parmi les théiers et en sirotant le célèbre thé Darjeeling.
La pagode japonaise de la paix a été établie par des adeptes du Nipponzan Myohoji, un ordre bouddhiste japonais. La pagode est la plus haute structure autoportante de la ville, et met en valeur les avatars de Bouddha près de la pagode est le temple Nipponzan Myohoji, qui est construit dans un style japonais traditionnel et offre aux visiteurs un lieu de paix et d'introspection. Le visiteur peut méditer et interagir avec les moines japonais résidents et la photographie est autorisée dans le temple.
Il est situé dans les prémisses du parc zoologique, il abrite de nombreuses espèces différentes de coléoptères, de serpents, d'oiseaux, d'animaux, etc.
Le Centre d'auto-assistance pour les réfugiés tibétains (TRSHC), situé à Lebong et connu localement sous le nom d'Ermitage, a été fondé le 2 octobre 1959. Zhu Dan a créé ce centre en 1959 avec des fonds collectés grâce à une association caritative locale (épouse de Gyalo Thondup). Initialement, l'installation fournissait des secours d'urgence aux réfugiés tibétains qui avaient fait le périlleux voyage à travers l'Himalaya vers l'Inde. Pour les Tibétains, le Hillside avait une signification particulière car le treizième dalaï-lama avait passé son exil en Inde de 1910 à 1912, suite à l'invasion chinoise du Tibet à l'époque. Le centre a été créé en tant qu'organisation caritative en vertu de la loi du gouvernement indien. Le centre a commencé avec seulement quatre employés et abrite aujourd'hui 130 familles tibétaines. Le centre a été impliqué dans une variété d'activités, y compris l'artisanat, la formation d'artisans et les artisans.

It is very difficult to see the vast expanse of Darjeeling, India and its winding and hilly roads without a car, and so the Darjeeling Full Day tour is just what you need to see this beautiful part of the India and the Himalayas. Mr Abhishek organised the tour and my tour guide/driver was Rajat. They were very nice and eager to show you the sights of Darjeeling. You will be taken by car to various temples, the war memorial and Darjeeling Himalayan Railway train interchange, the Tiger Hill observatory, the Darjeeling Zoo, the Happy Valley tea factory, and a particular treat - the Tibet refugee site - where I learned invaluable information on the history of Tibetan refugees in Darjeeling. The tour really does give you a great overview of Darjeeling in one day. I highly recommend it!
