Excursion d'une journée de Bangalore à Lepakshi pour l'architecture et les peintures du temple
Description
Lepakshi est une visite guidée d'un joyau architectural de l'empire de Vijayanagara. C'est un trésor de temples, de sculptures, de peintures et d'autres œuvres d'art. Le pilier suspendu dans la salle du temple est une merveille de l'ingénierie structurelle ancienne. L'autre point fort est le mystère des géants qui, selon la légende, auraient construit les anciennes sections du temple. Nous rechercherons des traces des preuves laissées par les géants de leur existence!

Itinéraire
Nous explorons ce chef-d'œuvre du style d'architecture de Vijaynagara du XVIe siècle. En premier lieu, la section intitulée Mukha Mandapa, qui a servi de lieu à la danse et à d'autres activités culturelles. Nous visitons ensuite l'Artha Mandapa où le roi a rendu son culte et où la Garbha Griha abrite la divinité. Ce qui suit est une salle de mariage unique en grès gris avec 38 piliers monolithiques sculptés où Lord Shiva et Lady Parvati étaient supposés s'être mariés dans l'Antiquité!
La plus grande statue indienne de Nandi Bull nous invite à Lepakshi. Faite d’un seul bloc de granit, cette statue mesure 15 pieds de haut et 27 pieds de long. Nous pouvons nous émerveiller devant la Bejeweled Nandi qui porte un kaasu malai, une chaîne de cloches, des boucles d'oreilles et d'autres bijoux!

Lepakshi is amazingly beautiful, a Must see for the delicate sculpture, colourful fresque and too cute monkeys. Mayuri, 5senses guide, was a delight to be with! Knowledgeable, open minded and very well organised. All was taken care off to perfection, I just had to enjoy discover and enjoy free of any hassle. Thank you Mayuri!
This ancient mini marvel of a temple was built during the reign of King Sri Achutha Raya by his treasurer Virupanna.Though has many pillars it is balanced by one single pillar.Paintings of shiva,krishna and other deities adore the roof of temple using natural colors. Marriage Mantapa is incomplete without roof as Virupanna died before it's completion.But pullers depict mythologically important characters including famous Girija kalyanam.Further mythological history dates back to period of Ramayana where folklore says it's here the great Jatayu s wings was severed by Ravana the demon when the bird tried to obstruct Ravana from kidnapping Sita wife of Rama.Statue of Jatayu is seen rock.
