We are six friends aged between 64 and 74 who decided to go to Egypt, so we booked with Ancient Egypt, tour, with Salwa, (agency in Cairo all by WhatsApp)😍 We had 5 days in Cairo, 3 days in Alexandria , 4 days cruise on the Nile, visit to Luxor, Aswan, Abu Sibel, 3 days in the desert, white, black, crystal mountains🥰, then 3 more days at sea, red. Extra we treated ourselves to 1 hour balloon at sunrise in Luxor wow🤩 It was a very nice trip that exceeded our expectations! Mrs Salwa and her colleague Tarek (Ancient Egypt Tours) made sure to answer us within 5 minutes when we had a question. All transport to and from airports and hotels and during our various visits was carried out with a 10 passenger vehicle in very good conditions. We had several guides depending on the regions visited and all knew their subjects well. Only negative we had only 2 out of 5 French speaking guides. The other 3 were Anglophone. The food was very good and we felt safe everywhere we went and this even without a guide in the big Cairo souk and in the subway. People are warm, it is about smiling and saying hello to receive a huge smile. The days in Cairo, Alexandria and the desert were the most appreciated since there were almost no tourists. In the Luxor region, Aswan Abu Simbel was crazy with thousands of tourists. Basically, we come back from our stay with lots of pictures and memories! Thank you to Mrs Salwa and her team who accompanied us. We recommend this agency.
Visiting the Pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum is a truly unforgettable experience that feels like stepping into the heart of ancient history. The moment you stand before the Great Pyramids, their sheer size and perfection leave you in awe. Built thousands of years ago, they still rise proudly against the sky, telling silent stories of powerful pharaohs, brilliant engineering, and a civilization far ahead of its time. The Sphinx nearby adds an air of mystery, making the entire site feel timeless and magical. The Egyptian Museum completes the journey perfectly. Inside, history comes alive through thousands of artifacts, from massive statues to delicate jewelry and everyday tools used by ancient Egyptians. The highlight is the treasure of King Tutankhamun, which dazzles with its beauty and craftsmanship and shows the incredible skill of ancient artists. Walking through the museum feels like traveling through thousands of years in just a few hours. Together, the Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum offer more than just sightseeing—they offer a deep connection to one of the greatest civilizations in human history. It’s an experience filled with wonder, pride, and inspiration that stays with you long after you leave.
Walid is an Egyptologist. He provided us with a wealth of in depth knowledge and explanations. He showed us the highlights of the museum and was very mindful of physical limitations throughout the day.
Loved our super interesting guide experience I recommend I would have liked a group trip as planned,The pyramids and camels were very interesting nothing wrong
Departure by pickup from hotel. We were the only two tour-goers with English- and Japanese-speaking guides. The Grand Egyptian Museum was officially opened next month, but you could take time to see the exhibition and drink Starbucks coffee. The pyramid system had changed a bit so that buses could be used, but I also thought that security would be better. Also on the way, we stopped at a papyrus store and a perfume store, both of which were good for us because we were interested.
The Egyptian Museum was rather disappointing, there are a huge amount of interesting artifacts, but not well displayed, but there are some really amazing treasures, but perhaps the experience will be improved when the new Musuem opens which is planned for June, 2024. The cost of entry to the Musuem is around 12 Euro (is not included in the package), remind the guide that children should pay half price (student's ticket). they supply you with earphones, so you can hear what the guide as you go around. Giza was interesting, but the camel ride is not included, please note you should NOT PAY MORE THAN 500 Egyptian Pounds, as this is written everywhere, but nobody tells you this on entry and the signs are at the exit. It is quite an experience to go inside one of the pyramids, the main one, requires additional payment (as most things seem to), but there is also a 2nd one much smaller and narrower, which is included in the entry cost, but it is not for the faint -hearted, as it is very narrow and warm inside.
This trip was unorganized from the beginning. Had a specialized tour planned with Salwa, but not followed. Meeting place information was vague and took much longer to get to then stated. Met tour person, no introduction or information given about day. Finally sent to bus only to be moved to another bus. Again, just sat there with no information or introduction. Finally, the driver got in and took off an hour late with no introduction or information. Most bizarre excursion I have ever been on. Stopped and picked up a guide and went to museum. Hard to follow guide with no visual item to follow. We had an unwanted hour stop at a perfume place. Next went to restaurant which they weren't ready or expecting us. Finally went to pyramid area for camel ride. Constant asking for money and mad if you didn't give enough. Ride was over an hour, way too long. My camel which was new and obviously untrained, spooked and threw me off. I was in excruciating pain. Still got me on bus, took a boat ride to dinner show. Had to be helped because of pain and collapsed on the boat deck. Dinner was horrible food and entertainment subpar. Just wanted to get back to the ship because of pain, but stuck. Finally got to van to go back. Bus driver and husband tried to help me at rest stop, but felt like I was going to pass out, so they loaded me back on van. Excursion was not as planned and more concerned about money than customer welfare. Went to ship clinic upon return, ended up in hospital in Turkey. Internal bleeding, 5 broken ribs, damaged kidney. Spent 8 days there before insurance sent a nurse to escort us on flight home. 1st excursion of the cruise, so rest of cruise missed. I reached out to Ancient Egypt for a refund for injuries sustained under their care. They said I completed the tour and hoped I enjoyed it. More concerned about reviews than my well-being. Most horrendous excursion with an uncaring company. Know ahead of time, if you book with this company, they will not follow an itinerary, will make stops to get kick backs and by the time you make it to the pyramids, you will have limited or no time. Some in our group did not make it there in time. Also, you are taking life altering risks that this company takes no responsibility for.
I saw one of the wonders of the world, I saw 9 pyramids, I enjoyed riding a camel in the desert next to the pyramids, and I saw Sphinx, and we went to the Egyptian Museum, which contains a wonderful collection of beautiful statues such as the mask of King Tutankhamun I want to thank the company for choosing the guide who contains a lot of information and he was always smiling and the driver
Ali ibrahem was my tour guideand he was fantastiche he wason time ,knowledgeable and professional . He used was super claen and always waiting for us at the end of every excursion.
