Not sure it's worth the 8+ hours round trip. Cost is effectively paying for fuel. Bus was OK, seats too narrow, but not sure larger vehicle can handle the tighter segments if road. The pick up by 'tender' van was OK, but the return transfer under a highway bridge was just weird. Nice beach. Soft sand, lovely water well protected from winds. But, no shade. On site market sells cheap umbrellas. Lots being disposed, so not eco-conscienous at all.
Very good guide but unfortunately the place during the peak season is a disappointment. A lot of walking to do, on the way back it is a torture. Umbrellas to rent cannot be found because there are few. Enchanting place but everything else disappointing.
Dear client, Thank you for joining our tour first of all. I understrand it is very crowdy there. But imagine you are here on the bussiest period of the summer and you visited the most advertised beach in Europe, so it is normal to be like this. I know it is not pleasant, but here i think you must critisize the excursion operator, if the trip was well organised, if our staff was friendly, etc. So i consider it is not fair to receive such a bad review. Thank you any way and hope you enjoyed the rest of your holidays
We started our trip in Hersonissos, so the trip can be a bit long. The beach is breathtaking!! Unfortunately we had a windy day and that made the experience a bit more challenging however we don’t regret it, it is 100% worth it. We had a lovely host Maria and super skilled driver George. Recommend it.
Our guide was very friendly and nice. She told us lots of interesting things about the history of Crete. She also advised us to take care of the fragile environment at Elafonisi Beach. Out of all the excursions I have taken in Crete, she was the only guide to inform us about such an important topic. My trip to Elafonisi Beach was wonderful. I would advise anyone going to this beach to use ocean-friendly sun creams without microplastics. This is very important for protecting the sea and marine life in this unique lagoon.
Great tour and tour guide. I stayed at the Belvedere resort so the bus stop was only a 6 minute walk and the hotel can give you at ride if needed. Very convenient all the way around.
Wonderful experience. One of the best organized tours. You will not regret making this trip, which provides just enough time for the beach and to travel back to your accommodations for evening dinner.
Beautiful place and must visit if you are in Crete. The journey was long but understandable since we were starting from Heraklion. Driver and tour guide were amazing. I would recommend them!
bus driver and tour guide were great & The bus was clean & air conditioned. The 3.5 hour trip was long (there is a smoke break) but once you got there, it was worth it, and lots of beautiful sights to see along the way. No food or beverages are included but You can purchase them for reasonable prices on the beach (3.50€ for beer .50€ for water, and 2 loungers under a thatched umbrella was $20€. The sand is indeed pale pinky-beige, although pinker in some spots (the island) so walk to the island if you can. The sand is also very soft. In May, the beach and restaurant was not overly crowded -a bonus. We are so glad we made the trip!
It was very good and the tour guide was also great. The water was still a bit cold , but we were told in advance.
I will describe with my native language so that I can express how fantastic this activity was. Elizabeth is simply amazing! She speaks English, French and German, she is very lively and speaks with passion about all the historical facts and curiosities during the journey. Nikos the driver was impeccable too! The transportation is comfortable and punctual, his driving skills are also amazing because when we literally reached the end of the island and we have to start climbing slopes through small villages, he kept the perfect direction even on the extremely narrow roads. In general I describe this activity as unavoidable, very worth the value and time, I saw in some reviews that 4 hours is little time there but it is not, it was enough time, I and my wife explored every corner. Finally, I thank Elizabetha and Nikos again for the unforgettable experience! Luiz and Stephanie, we are Brazilians and we were staying at Arina Beach Club in Heraklion.
