We booked the New Year Singapore and Bali escape with Galaxy cruises. From the moment it was a disaster. We dealt with Zian Dakin who was very nice but after we had paid it seemed as if nhe wasnt interested, every time we rang and tried to speak to him we got put on to someone else. We sent a few emails but no replies so we rang in the end.We weere flying with Turkish Airlines and had to book in 24 hrs before which we tried to do but couldnt as they had me down as a CHILD IN A WHEELCHAIR. I am 83 years old how could this happen? We rang the airline few times told us was the Booking people, we rang them back a few times they told us it was the Airline, no one wanted to take responsibility. We went to the Airport the next day and found out that on the long run to Singapore we would not be sitting together, although someone at Galaxy cruises assured they had sorted it. On our arrival at Singapore we booked in at the Boss Hotel we were on the 19th floor in a tiny room. With having 2 big suitcases plus 2 backpacks no room to move about. Lots of people complaining about the size of the rooms. We asked why no glasses in the room we were told they only supply mugs !!!! every hotel we have stayed in all over the world has glasses. From here we went to the Port to start our cruise on the Celebrity Millenium (been on this before and other celebrity ships) ur cabin was lovely as usual. The different ports the ship visited was a big disappointment, if you wanted to go into town you had to take a taxi which was 1hr 30 mins away. I think we should have been told this when booking. After our cruise we went to our 4 STAR PARAGON HOTEL IN SEMINYAK. After seeing our room we would have called this a hostel. There was no comfy armchairs anywhere, all the furniture was solid wood with no cushions on them at all. The wooden bench in front of the reception was solid wood. The room was clean but there was a small wardrobe, no drawers for underwear etc. 1 hard wooden chair which we had to use as a bedside cabinet as there was only one of them. The bathroom needed upgrading. You only got 2 bath towels which looked as if they needed a good wash and werent soft at all. There was no where to sit and watch tv. The balcony had no furniture on it. The loungers at the side of the pool were falling to bits and no padded covers to sit on. In the dining room there was 1x 2 slice toaster for the whole hotel. I asked if they had any more was told it was broke!!!. This is a 115 room hotel and only had less than 50% occupancy when we were there, i got this info off the receptionist. Where the hotel is situated is not a nice area, no street lights, on the pavements you had to walk single file as the grass was growing on to it. On the pavements were manhole covers, the majority was broken in half where the cars had been parked on them, so walking in the dark was very difficult, if anyone had fallen down them they would have done some serious damage. The hotel looks nothing like it is shown on Google, it looks amazing on there. I am surprised Galaxy cruises do not check the rooms they sell on their cruises. We are still waiting for replies from the travel agents, re the emails i have sent them. Been told they are waiting for a reply from the supplier who is waiting for a reply from the hotel. I would definitely not recommend Galaxy cruises .
Booked the Bangkok River Cruise and Dinner for the family the day of the event via the Viator App. We arrived a good 2 hours before the event took place as we took a taxi from our hotel to the venue to make sure we did not get caught in the Bangkok traffic, (do not take a taxi if the meter is off and the taxi driver negotiates a fee to drive you to the venue, we got ripped off as the return taxi fee that was on the meter only cost us half of what we paid to get there). We were told to meet at Pier 8 to check in at 6:00pm which we did but it was chaotic with people pushing in or jumping ahead of the que, the other venue operators also had tables set up, so it was a little confusing which tour operator was who. Initially, the lady that I spoke too could not find my booking reference from Viator and we waited around, for about 20 minutes while she was calling people and sending txt messages to try and find our booking. She finally found our booking which was not listed via the Viator booking reference number but by my first name, which they misspelt and was the reason they could not find our booking. We were then instructed to meet at Pier 1 at around 7:00pm prior to boarding the vessel. Again, the off-loading and loading of passages was chaotic with hundreds of people pushing in front and ahead of people in the que. When we finally got to the departer spot, we were told to all go back to the reservation desk so we could all be led to the vessel. When I questioned the lady at the service desk, she became a little short with me and seemed not interested in what was happening and basically said we could wait were ever we wanted too but if we missed the vessel that was our problem. We finally got marched onto the vessel just after 7:15pm. The vessel, Bangkok Roal Galaxy Chao Phraya River Cruise is a relatively new vessel which hold around 300 people but the night we went (Sunday) it was relatively quiet, and we were moved to a better table and viewpoint. We have been on many Bangkok River Cruise’s in the past as it’s a nice way to finish up our holiday in Thailand before we fly home. We couldn’t fault the evening, especially when the vessel was not fully booked, there was no mad rush to get food from the buffet table’s (our experience on this type of events is that’s a mad rush and a push and shove to get food). The entertainment was good, solo sax player and lead female singer. The music was not loud as previous trips we have taken, so it was nice to be able to eat and talk at a normal level without having to scream at each other. They also had some traditional Thai music and dancing. Only downside was we still had food and drinks on the table and as we were coming back from our event, the tables were all cleared no matter if you had finished or not. For $68.00 AUD per person, which was a little overpriced, there are cheaper events available but most of those vessels were overflowing with people, so paying a little more may guarantee you a better experience overall. We did the cruise as a family, 1 x Dad, 1 x Mum, 1 x Teenage Daughter (18 years) & 1 x Junior Daughter (11 Years). We all had a nice time and would recommend this event.
The cruise was entertaining with live entertainment. The performer did a wonder job to pump up the crowd. Having our delicious dinner with the amazing site of the night sky was simply wonderful. Would recommend to others.
Factory has tourists for 95% Chinese, buffet taken by storm, they push you, walk on feet, play elbows..it's the canteen!!! Animations cheap, noisy, eager for it to end
We sincerely apologize for your negative experience. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we will use it to improve our service.
Amazing experience with nice ambiance , enjoy the sailing at night, very nice with music , food was average taste and the menu little
GREAT TOUR, THE FOOD WAS TASTY BUT IT WAS A BIT OF A CRUSH TO GET IT. WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF IT WAS DONE BY TABLE RATHER THAN A MAD CRUSH. THE VIEWS WERE FABULOUS AND THE ENTERTAINMENT WAS ALSO. TH BOAT WAS TERRIFIC.
Thank you for booking with us, sir. We hope you have a wonderful stay in Thailand!
Poor organisation Food ran out ( certain) To much pushing from customers to get to food Bad service for reviving food - as no one organised lines and people pushing and shoving- pushing in line to get onto boat Drinks very expensive
We sincerely apologize for your experience. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will promptly address it with our operating team to ensure continual improvement in our service
Even thought the views from the boat were amazing. The experience itself was mediocre at best. The buffet lacked variety and the dishes were not tasty. What made it even worst was that there was not enough staff to take an order from the bar, or to gather dishes from the table. The show was just ok. I would chose a cruise without dinner better and enjoy a nice dinner before or after. Definetely not worth the dollars paid.
