Dans le château de Trakošćan, vous vivrez une véritable atmosphère de conte de fées en vous promenant dans les salles du château et autour du lac pittoresque et dans la ville baroque de Varaždin, vous serez témoin d'une architecture historique bien préservée et d'une vie locale animée. Nous allons commencer cette excursion privée avec prise en charge à votre hébergement à l'heure demandée.
Après une agréable promenade à travers la belle campagne, nous atteindrons Trakoscan - le château croate le plus célèbre et le mieux préservé. Le château a été construit à la fin du 13ème ou au début du 14ème siècle comme une petite forteresse défensive. Le complexe de Trakošćan que nous avons aujourd’hui, une synergie romantique entre architecture et nature, est le résultat du XIXe siècle. Le château a été reconstruit dans un style néo-gothique et le paysage environnant, notamment un lac émergé d'après le modèle du parc anglais. Vous verrez une précieuse collection de peintures, de meubles et d’armes, et vous promenez autour du lac pittoresque qui entoure le château.
Varazdin, souvent appelée « Petite Vienne », est une ville du nord de la Croatie célèbre pour son architecture baroque intacte. Vous marcherez dans les rues pavées de la ville pour voir les places historiques, les églises et les palais, le charmant hôtel de ville et le monument culturel le plus important de la ville - la vieille ville gothique-renaissance ou le château de Varazdin avec un musée (le musée est fermé le lundi). Il est également possible d'organiser une visite guidée à pied de la ville par un guide local expérimenté. Après la visite, vous pourrez avoir du temps libre pour prendre un café sur la place principale ou votre guide pourra vous recommander l'un des restaurants locaux pour le déjeuner.

We were met promptly at our hotel by Tom from Mapping Croatia. He spoke perfect English and told us some of the history of what we were going to see as we left Zagreb. We walked through the town at the first stop, then walked through the palace. Very pretty, not super grand, but nice. We then got back in the car to continue to the second location. Gorgeous countryside, VERY windy roads, with continuous hairpin turns - unfortunately, I got very carsick. When we hit to the second castle, I was too ill to go up the hill to view it. I highly recommend this as a day trip from Zagreb, but also HIGHLY recommend taking something before the trip, if you are prone to motion sickness!! Thank you to Tom for a nice day and his kindness when I didn’t feel well!!
Lawrence was an amazing guide! He really made sure we got the most out of our trip. And Tamara was the local guide in Varaždin. She was extremely knowledgeable, and also seemed to know everyone in town! Make sure you ask her to get you the local pastry which is basically a delicious breadstick! This was a fantastic way to get to see an area of Croatia that isn't heavily travelled... at least not yet!
Great private tour! Tom was an amazing and a great tour guide. He picked us from our hotel and even provided us with umbrellas for the horrible weather. He guided us around the castles, giving us an insight to the history of the castle and town. We had a good laugh throughout our drive, and I'm sure we kept him entertained with our Scottish banter. He even provided us with recommendations for restaurants and other places to visit in Zagreb, Croatia. For our tour of Varaždin, we were lucky to have our tour guide Rajko. Being a history professor, we heard many stories and history of this town. Showing us different architecture, historical sites and the scenery of Varaždin.
