Fun and informative tour. Interesting to learn about some of the history of Boise and tries some unexpected foods. Good information on the restaurants we visited and the staff were welcoming. Food was delicious. The highlight of the tour was our tour guider Heidi, she was fantastic. Also very thankful for Indulge Boise for keeping our reservation and proceeding with the tour, even though there were only two of us on the tour!
Very informative tour, easily walkable, the food was amazing!!! Tour guide gave so much information and answered all my questions. I learned a lot about Boise, including history, background on Idaho and got to taste dishes famous or known to the Boise area! Ansots was by far my favorite food - the croquettes were heavenly and those clams in that tomatoy-garlicy sauce were chefs kiss. I was surprised the chef sat with me and told me the history of his dishes that are his own moms recipies!! The white wine serced with the dishes paired so well with the meal also. My next favorite was the Boise Fry Company - the assortment of seasonings and dips made every bite of those delicious fries a different experience and the bison burger surprised ke with how tender and juicy it was - the pickled onions on it made the flavor pop! Acero served an awesome panchetta, fig, balsamic open faced bread dish but I wasnt a fan of the cheese (feta I believe) but it was so flavorful and well balanced. The waygu meat ball was ok, I wasnt a fan and the arachini was also ok. They did swap my red wine for a white which I was happy they allowed. Ending at the Choclat bar was the cherry on top and loading up in chocolates to take home with a discount was even better! Id highly recommend this tour - the sights, the info, the tour guide and the FOOD was truely something I will never forget! Thank you for offering such a memorable experience and I hope to do it again if I ever come back to Boise!!! The tour size wasnt overly booked and gave a VIP experience that I hope others will indulge in and see for themselves! This Alaskan girl was impressed and I had to nap after eating so much great food. Between this history of the area, the buildings, seeing Freak Alley and learning about the history of Boise I left wanting to know more about the area and how special it is!
Our guide was a lovely lady, but was new at giving this tour. She read from cards and wasn’t that interesting in her presentation. She had another guide with her to help her if needed. He filled in information as needed. We were disappointed with the food on the tour with the hefty price we paid. We were the only 2 on the tour so it was awkward for them to sit and watch us eat. We missed interaction with others on the tour. We wished they would have canceled the tour with only 2 of us. We would not recommend this tour.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your Culinary and Cultural Tour of Boise did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your kind words about your guide and also understand your comments regarding her being newer to this particular tour. At Indulge Boise Food Tours, our guides go through a training process that includes observing, co-guiding, and being supported by an experienced guide before leading independently. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to use it to strengthen our training process and ensure every guide delivers the engaging, polished, and memorable experience guests expect from us. We also understand that being the only two guests on a tour can feel different from a larger group experience. While some guests love the personal attention of a smaller tour, others prefer the energy and interaction of a larger group. Our policy is to run tours even with a very small number of guests because we know many travelers may only have one opportunity to experience Boise during their visit, and we do not want to cancel on guests who have planned around the experience. That said, we are sorry the format felt awkward for you and that the food did not feel aligned with the value you expected. Our tours are designed to combine generous tastings, locally owned restaurants, Boise history, culture, architecture, and storytelling into a curated experience that is much more than a meal. We regret that this did not come through in the way we intended. Thank you again for your feedback. We take it seriously and will use it as we continue improving the guest experience while honoring the quality and care we aim to provide on every Indulge Boise Food Tours experience.

Adan was a fantastic tour guide! He was both knowledgeable and fun! The restaurants were all great, but Ansot’s was amazing! Ansot actually came and sat with us and his delightful daughter who owns the restaurant with him was so personable! Great tour! I highly recommend booking!

He has a special talent for combining local history, culture, and fun, and we're so glad he helped make your experience memorable. We're especially happy to hear that Ansots was a highlight of your tour. One of the things that makes Boise's food scene so special is the opportunity to meet the passionate people behind the restaurants. Dan, his daughter Ellie and their family/staff have been incredible partners, and we're always delighted when guests have the chance to hear their story firsthand and experience the warmth and hospitality that make their restaurant so unique. Our tour was an excellent experience. Henry was great. Local guy that loves to travel and gastronomy. We connected with him right away. The places that we went to were really good. There was enough time to enjoy each place. Henry would be kind enough to give us a short story behind every dish and restaurant that we went to. In addition, being a local makes everything easier. Main question that a lot of people ask: do you get full? Yes, we did. If you are planning on staying in Boise for a couple of days, I advice you to give it a try before exploring the city.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a great experience with Henry. His passion for travel, food, and sharing Boise's story shines through on every tour, and we're glad you connected with him right away. We love that you highlighted the balance of great food, local storytelling, and the opportunity to truly experience the people and places that make Boise special. And thank you for answering one of the most common questions we hear—yes, guests definitely leave full! Your advice is spot on. We often tell visitors that taking a food tour early in their trip is one of the best ways to get oriented, discover local favorites, and find places they may want to revisit during their stay. Thank you for spending part of your Boise adventure with us, and we hope to welcome you back the next time your travels bring you our way!
