Tour of farmyard including goats, chickens, aubergine, veggies and olive trees followed by the Peka preparations. Florio explained and showed the genuine Peka cooking from beginning to end. A fantastic experience- thank you Florio!! Highly recommend.
This review is several months overdue.. We stayed in Dubrovnic for 2 nights during our Croatia trip and I searched for cooking experiences online, choosing to book with Florio based on previous reviews. We made a mid-day booking and the experience was outstanding. We arrived late morning and Florio invited us into his home where we began with a tour of his farm, learning about the animals he raises and the crops grown on site. We met his wonderful family and he served us home-made wine as we watched and helped him prepare the main course with fresh meat and vegetables. We learned about Peka and placed the dish under the iron bell to slow cook. Florio served home-made olive oils and cheeses paired with fresh bread and local meats while the Peka cooked, all the time teaching us even more about the history of the area. The main meal was DELICIOUS! We finished our time by sampling some home-made brandy and we left with leftovers! I highly, highly, recommend the Peka cooking lesson with Florio. When we eventually return to Dubvovnic we will definitely be booking with him again to discover more hidden gems of Croatia.
Thanks to Florio for this authentic cooking course. We had a great time with him in his home, his animals, his family. The peka was really excellent, the platter of smoked cold cuts and cheeses as a starter and dessert made us travel. The 4 hours passed very quickly and we learned a lot about the history of the country thanks to our exchanges with Florio who is a real enthusiast! We definitely recommend you to meet him...
Thank you. To next time have nice stay at Dubrovnik.
While in Croatia, top on my list to try was peka. However, being off season, finding a restaurant that would cook peka was challenging. Then we found Florio and his peka cooking class. We ubered to his home and were graciously welcomed into . He offered homemade grappa, proseko, wine and charcuterie while we learned about the tradition of peka. After we prepared the dish and it was cooking, we sampled different olive oils including an organic variety he makes and sells. We enjoyed hearing his stories while we waited for the peka to finish. Finally it was time to enjoy lunch. The veal and pork were tender and flavorful with the potatoes and carrots. It was a really wonderful and unique experience. A highlight of our trip. We left full and with many good memories.
Thank you. Here for all requests in future. FLORIO
What a great experience with Florio: We’ve been dying to try Peka in Croatia and we couldn’t have had a better chance to learn, watch and eat with Florio. And while the Peka was the highlight of the show, the wine, grappa, prosecco, prosciutto, and cheese were all amazing. And finally, spending a few hours with Florio made this activity a can’t miss. Thank you so much for a truly great experience.
Thank you. See you soon :)
We had a wonderful experience spending the morning with Florio. We weren't confident in our ability to drive our car through the narrow roads but Florio came out and drove our car for us. The Peka dish was delicious and we enjoyed seeing the entire process. Beyond the Peka experience, we learnt a lot about Croatians, the food they grow and the things they make! It felt more like visiting a friend's home than a tour and it was also lovely to meet Florio's family! We would definitely recommend this tour to others!
Florio gave us one of our most memorable experiences in Dubrovnik. He and his family live in a lovely part of Dubrovnik and he makes delicious organic olive oil as well as raising fresh vegetables. His Peka was delicious, made fresh in a traditional oven in an outbuilding. We loved chatting about current events, Croatian culture, and food. Florio is so gracious and hospitable. We highly recommend this experience.

Frolio is the mans man, makes all his own stuff, I wont spoil it for u but Peka cooking wasnt the highlight. it was everything that came with his hospitality. Very authentic and personal, no make up as he put it. We bought some wine and olive oil to take home, so good!

If you want to get to a really authentic out-of-the-way place in the hills near Dubrovnik for a delicious meal cooked in the traditional way with oak fire, hot bricks and iron bell cooking pot, do this. Yes, it's a bit pricey but wow for the food and for the scenic views. The restaurant is a converted railway station and along the way you will see lots of bunkers left over from the war, and the driver will be happy to tell the stories from times past.

This was the highlight of a week long vacation to Dubrovnik- a must see for any foodies. Flora was an amazing host- friendly, informative, and fun. This is by no means a traditional cooking class- it takes place in his home, with his wife there to assist. There is a demonstration of Peka cooking various meats and potatoes prepared on an outdoor fireplace under a metal dome. Homemade bread, cheese, and olive oil are served while the food is cooking and you are given tons of information about food and even life in general in Croatia. He even has his own homemade prosciutto! Grappa and wine are provided and Florio gave me my own take home bottle of grappa when he discovered I liked it so much. This was an amazing experience and I cannot recommend this enough!
