This waS more strenuous than expected. Not suitable for the less fit. Guides were very patient and kind; they were able to get us out about halfway thru the activity. Some guests came prepared to swim, that was not mentioned in Our itinerary so maybe we got combined with other excursion?
Guide was great, good knowledge of animals and area. Swimming in the clear spring water was so interesting.
I came in March, apparently tail end of prime manatee viewing season, so many or most had left for deeper parts of the ocean. Guide however knew where some were still hanging out, so we did see a few, including one large fella that went right under my kayak! Morning proved to be a good time to go- before heat of the day and more other boaters are out on the water.
Such a fun experience. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about our surroundings and was so patient and friendly. Saw several sightings of manatees and was able to get some great pictures and views of them. My husband and I would highly recommend this tour and business to anyone coming for a visit in this area.
We had a great time kayaking even though it was more challenging with high winds. The guide was very kind and patient. They communicated well and gave us an opportunity ahead of time to reschedule due to the weather. Very accommodating and would recommend!
Our guided kayak tour was so perfect. Our guide took us to where all the manatees were. He was patient with us and told us so much about the manatees and the Crystal River area.
Group from RV CLUB just happened to stumble into their event.
Water’s Edge (with Scotty and Lena) was a fantastic experience. Both were very personable, and Scotty led our river tour with a relaxed, “chill” demeanor that made the entire outing enjoyable. Along the way, we saw a bald eagle, birds of both air and water, several species of fish, turtles, and lots of manatees. Scotty has an impressive wealth of knowledge about the manatees and the surrounding area, which made the tour even more engaging. We also had the opportunity to snorkel at Three Sisters Springs, and I’m so glad I did—I was able to see a large manatee resting, which was an unforgettable moment. Overall, it was a relaxing and well-paced tour that felt like a true adventure. A tip for future swimmers: bring a towel or hoodie in the kayak with you to put on afterwards. Don’t forget to take water. I wasn’t able to take many pictures of the manatees and wildlife because I wasn’t quick enough with my phone but we saw several. This was an amazing experience, and we truly appreciated Scotty’s expertise. I highly recommend Water’s Edge and would absolutely do this again!
