It's more of a boat ride than a tour. Pick up was relatively easy from Paros then the boat ride to Delos. We disembarked but then we were on our own to walk amongst the ruins for 3 hours. No guide was included in the trip. We then took another boat ride to Mykonos and had lunch and then walked around. Again about 3 hours with no guide. It worked out fine for our needs. We were able to see two different islands in one day trip. By the way, the boat is relatively big as there were at least 50 people on board. No problem with the slightly heavy seas that we had that day.
Do NOT book in advance. I did and ended up with stomach flu and cancelled 23 hours in advance. Totally beyond my control. They would not refund the money and apologized for my illness but said it’s beyond their control unless 24 hours in advance. They offered an open ticket but obviously can’t use it. So out the money due to illness. Took them long enough to reply. Would never recommend them. Buyer beware!!
Dear Karen, To begin with , we are very disappointed with your health issues but we would like to explain some things to you because your review is not exact and valid. First of all, you bought the ticket from another platform not directly from our office or our website. The cancellation policy is very loose , that means you can cancel up to 24 hours before the starting time. It's the most convenient and simple cancellation policy for summer activities. If you had booked directly by us you would have known that before your payment. In addition, we are at the high season of the summer. Could you tell us if there is any reservation for a hotel, airbnb , sea activity or daily cruises which you can cancel freely some hours before the activity without charge? Of course not, especially in the accommodation level ( there is a very strict cancellation policy ) and our policy is up 24 hours in advance. Could you imagine what would happen if all the guests could cancel the activities any time? You can come in contact with the reseller in which you bought the ticket and you can check why you do not know our cancellation policy. From our point of view we gave you free tickets instead of losing your money for our future activities. If you cannot appreciate it, we are sad about that but it's the best that we can do for you. We hope all the guests read this review and our reply too! Thank you very much! We hope that you get well soon because this is the most important thing for you right now! Kindest regards, Alexander team!
Everything was great on the trip to Santorini. We had a great time, the lady from the bus gave us advices where exactly to go for good photo places, otherwise you can miss good shots due to the crowds in July. The sales manager in the office in Naxos, a nice guy called Panos, is a good local guide, he gave us a lot of advices - when to go on a trip, how will be the weather, the waves, which day it's worth it, which day it will be bad experience, also totally non related advices for locations on the islands, where to go, what to do, etc. Even if you do not plan to go on a trip, it's a good idea to visit (office near the port). Imo it's not needed to book anything in advance, just go to Panos.
I participated in the organized tour in Koufonissi, and it was truly an exceptional experience! Everything was organized down to the smallest details, with great professionalism and punctuality. The staff was always available, kind, and attentive to every need, making us feel at ease from start to finish. Koufonissi is a wonderful place, with crystal-clear waters and breathtaking landscapes, and thanks to the excellent organization, we were able to enjoy every moment without any worries. An experience I recommend to anyone who wants to spend an unforgettable day. Congratulations to the entire team for the work done: everything was simply perfect!
We had a superb day visiting Santorini from Naxos with Alexander Cruises. What a slick well organised operation. Comfy seats, air conditioned, exceptionally clean facilities and a great little bar, all the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. A coach and guide took us to Fira and then we independently caught a public bus to Oia. The guide explained where we had to meet to return to the bus in Fira and then back to the ship. We had 6.5 hrs on Santorini and it really was with every penny….a great experience and thank you Alexander cruises.
The Santorini cruise was not well advertised, the bus time to get up to Fira was not included and massively cut into our time on Santorini. It is advertised as having around 6.5 hours, it is closer to 4. The bus transfer back to the harbour is also very messy and not clearly stated as to when or where. It should have been written down or advertised on the website, as it was a lady telling us on the bus on the way there - as a deaf person, I could not understand a lot of what she was saying, alongside many others who were not deaf.
We enjoyed the freedom to wander at our leisure without worrying about keeping up with a large group. You must do your own homework on what to see and the history but that is part of the fun, imho. With this freedom does come the responsibility to maintain the schedule and know where you need to be for the boats and shuttles. If you have troubles with these, then maybe you should take a guided tour. The boats were clean, and we did not notice any broken or disorderly facilities, and the crews were courteous, but if you went were you should not or were not aware that you were possibly near a hazard, they firmly let you know. We would not hesitate using Alexander tours upon our return.
Pretty, authentic, but the bus transport for the return was zero, 20 minutes late in the full sun parking lot with about 50 buses and us in the middle. No organization! The guide 'doesn't serve much' I don't know, waiting for it to happen... 'doesn't know either the time or the bus number' dangerous with the very intense bus traffic. And we are on June 9th.
Very personable and friendly service, extremely punctual and gets you where you need to go. The time allotted to Delos and Mykonos was perfect.
Very beautiful excursion to Delos and Mykonos. At the reservation, Panos kindly and efficiently advised us. The trip went very well, adhering to the schedule and with professionalism. I highly recommend it.
