We had an incredible time doing this tour at the end of our honeymoon. Our guide goes by “Ten” and he was absolutely incredible! He speaks really good English and French, and was super knowledgeable and pleasant. He made sure we were super informed about what was going on at all times and made the trip incredibly fun and memorable. If you are looking for an adventure. This is it! You will ride through a rough terrain for 6+ hours but it’s an adventure the whole time. The views and plants are absolutely stunning. The roads get a little bit unique looking at times but we always felt safe even on some of the narrower cliffs. We had others in our group who all spoke primarily French but us ( we spoke English) but it was still super fun with each other and getting to know a little bit about each other on the long ride!. Our guide “Ten” was a rockstar and just made the overall trip fun. I can’t imagine having a better guide! If you want adventure, stunning views, and a culture experience this it is. You need to be able to rough it a little bit with some road condition, bugs, and long bumpy roads. But it makes the experience that much better! 10/10 recommend for anyone wanting to know this island better!
Discovery of Polynesia other than through the lagoons. The vegetation of Tahiti is lush and magnificent. Superb day spent with Ten. Thank you for your extensive knowledge of the local fauna and flora. Sporty but very interesting walk. Nathalie and Philippe
Great day with our guide Ten. Just wasn't aware of the lenght of the day. Very informative. Would be super amazing on a clear day
My pick up was over half an hour late. Everyone else on my truck was french speaking, thankfully the guide spoke english. Not a good start. After a short drive we turned into a 'road', were trucks and heavy loaded, big working machines came from both ways, dirt from the 'road' and from the load covered us. After about 20 miles of dangerous crisscrossing on a narrow but heavily ruined road, finally we left behind the heavy machines. But alas, the 'fun' started. The track we were on for the rest of the day was a chain of potholes and stones and our jeep was 'dancing' dangerously, shaking us every moment. The iron frame around us was great to hold on to for dear life, but it seriously hit us with every bump. Sitting wasn't an option for too long, neither was standing. And if the tour would have a highlight I wouldn't complain, but there wasn't any point to go to. We just crossed the island on a dangerous track in valleys. Yes, the view was amazing but not all day long the same, from below. If we would drive upward at least once, to see the panorama would change the slightly oppressive mood of the tour. Our tour guide was a young but knowledgeable man, he showed and told us lots of interesting things, plants. But he ruined his good job aroun 4 pm when he said, we are going to swim in the Blue lake with waterfall. Ok, finally something... Uh, it was a small water reservoir, with dangerous high lakeshore, only the brave went down. Out of 7 of us 2 went swim...with guide, who said I'm going to swim wether you guys coming or not... By the time we get closer to the exit of this horrible track, it get dark so we could see nothing, we were just sitting and shaking like ice in a tumbler. When we get out somewhere around Papará, it was totally dark, had to close the canvas, and we drove way over an hour with high speed back to Papeete. The worst tour I have ever been on
Not for the faint hearted! The mountain roads are narrow with steep drops but our driver was very careful The ride is very bumpy after 2 hours I was tired of it and we endured another 6 hours Our guide Pito was informative but frankly there isn’t too much to see beyond some waterfalls and 3 lakes There was an opportunity to swim in a rock pool but it wasn’t advertised and in any case with rock entry I wouldn’t advise it We stopped to buy sandwiches on the way! Would make sense to provide lunch It was all just a little amateurish
Karl was a great guide! Made sure we were comfortable and explained everything well ! Recommend to anyone who comes to Tahiti!
Noah was a very knowledgeable, fantastic tour guide. He was super engaging and gave a wonderful tour! Highly highly recommend.
A very beautiful way to see Tahiti differently with Noé, a passionate guide about botany who lets us taste what he talks about
This tour was great and fun. If you are a big complainer in general do not take this tour. The terrain is rough. I enjoyed every mi Ute of it. The views are magnificent and the tour guide was great. Bring a swimsuit and swim under a waterfall. I recommend this tour
It is rough, jolting, uncomfortable but magnificent environment. Requested English, 6 other travellers only spoke French, guide barely spoke English, fluent in French. Rather isolating. Late start and finish. Long lunch break delay journey.
