Great experience. Knowledgeable and friendly crew. Easy meet uo locatiind. We were fortunate to have perfect weather but it would have been enjoyable even without.
Guide was great and knowledgeable. Captain was excellent Clean boat and cold drinks. Would highly recommend this trip.
Very chill and relaxing. It was a beautiful evening and the bay was calm. We saw harbor seals and birds. Capt. Pete and Danny were very knowledgeable. With fewer than 20 passengers there was plenty of room. The Elizabeth Grace is a nice boat. I highly recommend this cruise for a calm Summer evening.
We received history about the lighthouses in relation to WW2 and how they are currently being used. We learned about the ages of different boats near us. It was nice to have a drink on board. It was a bit cool; however, we brought a jacket and were fine!
Beautiful views out on the water! Friendly staff and knowledgeable about local history. We loved learning about the various islands surrounding the bay.
Although there was no true guide. Danny the first mate did an excellent job of pointing out things we passed and gave us a brief history lesson on everything we saw. He was enthusiastic on everything to do with Portland, Maine and will be an excellent Captain one day. Meet-up place was great, we enjoyed a few beverages and was given a quick run down of how everything would be when the tour started. Highly recommend.
Capt Pete and Deckhand Danny were gracious and knowledgeable. We saw and learned about 3 iconic Maine lighthouses as well as various marine life including seals which we saw basking on Seal Rock. 90 minutes was a perfect amount of time to enjoy our complimentary beverages and soak in the dramatic sunset over Portland.
Lots of fog but the crew was great! Bring a blanket cause it gets chilly. Loved Danny! And Rick was our captain, he was also great!
We're glad to hear you had a good time despite the fog! It wouldn't be Maine without some unexpected fog. The boat crew loves getting folks out on the water and we're happy to hear they showed the group a good time. Thanks for joining us!
5 stars! We got so lucky with the weather, had a beautiful sunset, and the drinks were also great. The staff was very well informed and shared the perfect amount of tour guide information about lighthouses/ history without it being overbearing/ the primary tour piece- very good vibes all around and the perfect duration of a tour!
Thank you so much for the kind words, and thanks for joining us! We strive to find the balance between engaging, informative, and giving space to just enjoy the sights, and we're glad to hear the boat crew did a good job with that. And we're especially glad to see that weather shaped up for a good ride. Thanks for allowing us to be a part of the birthday festivities!
Reat Good people. Clean boat. Only reason not a 5 star is my error as I didn't pay attention to what I really need on a 90 minute trip -- as drinking before and during a 1.5 hour trip on a small rocking boat sunset trip - with no real bathroom just an emergency jug and seat behund a shower curtain isn't a good combo if you frequently need a bathroom while drinking.
We're glad to hear that you had a good time on the boat cruise! The bathroom situation is definitely the most tricky part of the tour, and we'll use this to look more closely at how we're advertising the situation in our postings and to the group before the tour starts. Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for joining us - hope to see you again soon!
