Crime et châtiment dans le vieux Dubrovnik

Description

Marija was an excellent guide who provided a unique and engaging tour of an underexplored aspect of Dubrovnik's history. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and heard many stories of the Dubronik's complex past that we otherwise would never have learned. Marija's insightful perspective allowed us to better understand how crime and punishment shaped Dubrovnik into what it is today while also delivering exciting tales of the past.
I was lucky enough to be able to catch this tour when I visited Dubrovnik for the afternoon and evening yesterday. It was wonderful. Marija was so knowledgeable and provided a fascinating history of the crime and punishment used in the City throughout its history. She really brought home how barbaric the torture had been of suspected criminals and the punishments they endured as a result. She was able to tailor the tour to my specific areas of interests and I had a wonderful evening. I’ll be back for the ghost tour next time I’m in Dubrovnik.
Such a great tour about the crime and punishment in Dubrovnik as well as lots of other interesting facts about the history of old town. We ended up being the only two booked so we basically got a private tour! We learnt so much that we never would've known otherwise and got to hear of a darker side of old town for our last night. Marija is such a lovely person who knows so much about the history of the city and is a very engaging story teller. We can't wait to come back to Dubrovnik one day and go on her other tours!
Aww, dear Josie, you don't know how much this review means to me, because, as I've told you, people don't book this tour a lot. But those that do book, usually get a private tour. And I'm very happy you were among those people. You were both such lovely guests! Thank you for everything <3 Marija
Marija is an excellent storyteller and a knowledgeable guide. She will give you an insight into Dubrovnik's dark side - the things people don't usually like to talk about. This tour definitely made our stay in Dubrovnik even more amazing and genuine. Maja and Hristijan
Thank you, Maja and Hristijan! Hvala :)
We did the Crime and Punishment tour with Marija. It was one of the best and unique tours we did during our stay in Dubrovnik. Her historical knowledge and story telling ability was fantastic and kept us engaged throughout. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking to do a walking tour in this city. Doireann and Caroline
Thank you, Doireann and Caroline <3
This was a fascinating tour and Marija was wonderful. She has a wealth of knowledge and many shocking stories to tell about the city and its proclivity for dealing out horrifying punishments to the guilty (or those just thought to be guilty!) which kept us fully engaged. It's not a ghost tour....its much more rooted in fact and we really appreciated that. Very enjoyable!
Dear Barbara and Steven, it was an absolute pleasure to take a walk with you through the city. I was also very pleased with the fact that you decided for this tour among the ones I offer, I know it wasn't your first choice, but I'm glad you liked it. Thank you so much for everything! Marija
This was an unexpected find for me. I usually do haunted tours but decided on this instead to see what it was about and it was phenomenal! The tour is a historical account of the dark past surrounding the city. Marija was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and the different types of crimes and punishments for them. The tour looks at the dark side of mankind as I learned about the different types of torture that was performed. I saw where the public executions took place. I also learned about the inequality of punishment of women vs men. We visited the dungeons in Old Dubrovnik. The whole tour was very fascinating. There was a bit of walking but nothing strenuous. I was very impressed by Marija’s extent of knowledge on this subject. She was able to field any questions. She was super nice. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this tour if you want to explore the dark side of history.
Dear Donelle, thank you so very much for taking the time and reviewing this tour. It really means so much, and I am very happy to have been your host and guide here in Dubrovnik, so big thank you from the heart!
We were the first guests to book onto this brand new tour, and therefore there was only the two of us. We are so glad that we booked it. Marija is a fantastic tour guide, with lots of interesting tales about Crime & Punishment in Dubrovnik as well as general history about the old city. Marija was very knowledgeable about the history of this city. The tour was really interesting, and we got to see parts of the city that we wouldn't have otherwise visited if it hadn't been for this tour. The old city was very busy when we did this tour as a cruise ship had recently docked, plus there were lots of large tour groups going around at the same time. However, Marija took us on a route that managed to avoid the huge crowds. We have booked onto many large walking tours previously through large companies, however we always find that in large groups you don't hear half of what is being said, and don't get to ask many questions. As it was just the two of us, we had a much better experience on this tour, and I will definitely be looking at booking independent tours again in future. If you are interested in learning about the history of Dubrovnik, with a friendly and knowledgeable guide, I would highly recommend booking this tour.
Dear Charlene, One more time we meet on Tripadvisor. I don't know how to express all the gratitude that I'm feeling and that I was very fortunate to get such nice guests to be the audience of the first ever Crime and Punishment tour of my home city. The first one is always the hardest but it was a pleasure in fact. You can be sure that I won't forget you! Thank you and all the best wishes to you and Steve!
