Kristine was such a fun tour guide who quickly became a friend! We had the absolute best day. She was the perfect balance of fun and knowledgeable! Would recommend to EVERYONE coming to Santorini :)
We enjoy the entire thing it would be hard to point out one that was especially fabulous. The first winery was in a cave, family owned and very unique. The second was at the biggest winery and we sat at and had the most impressive view of the beautiful scenery. It looked out over the Caldera. The last was at the cooking class. I would say that our guide, Penny, was one of the best I’ve had in anytime anywhere. First her knowledge and education is well beyond what I would ordinary expect with it to guide. We learned more in the first half hour about the wines and why the Santorini Vineyards are so different than we’ve seen anywhere else in the world. More than I could’ve hoped for. George, our driver was kind and moreover, he made sure that the van was cooled down before we got in, which was much appreciated. Lastly, the chef at our cooking class was exceptional very interesting expressive and we will absolutely use his recipes. Back to Penny, I got a little hot and was overexerted at the cooking class. She immediately understood expedited everything, doing whatever she could to meet me feel more comfortable and the rest of the tour was finished beautifully. I would highly recommend this tour (and I don’t do reviews usually.)
My wife and I loved this experience from start to finish. Stratos was our guide, and I would highly recommend anyone request him if possible. He was very knowledgeable and professional the entire time. He provides background knowledge on the island and wines of Santorini. Ask him anything and he will be able to answer it. Between experiencing the wineries and the cooking class this experience cannot be beat. Well worth the money and I highly recommend this to anyone going to Santorini for a few days.
Amazing time! Highly recommend this cooking class and wine tour. Our guide Elena was perfect. She was very knowledgeable about the island and also the wines we tasted. This made our trip to Santorini perfect; highly suggest it!!!
Everyone in our group of 6 people would definitely recommend. First winery: 5 wines, cheeses. Second: 5 wines, meat, cheese, and fruit. Third: Lunch was more of a participatory demonstration than a full class itself, which was fine because of the awful plastic knives they give you. Of course, you’ve already had 10 wines by that point, so maybe not the worst idea. They pick you up, drop you off, and cart you around everywhere in between. What really made it was the people. Our guide Katarina was so much fun - personable, knowledgeable, and very gracious. Angela, the cooking instructor, was all smiles and gave a little history on the meal we were going to have, and the meal itself came out great.
It was not only extremely informative and educational, it was so much fun. We had a great group of people and we all got along so well, you would have thought we had been friends for years. We laughed and laughed. The cooking class we mostly watched the chef and didn’t do much cooking. We had plastic knives to cut with but I’m sure it was for our safety because everyone had been wine tasting all day.
Awesome time! Very educational experience learning Grecian wines and the cooking class was fun. The end meal was delicious!
This was one of our favorite experiences when we were in santorini. Learned a lot about wines. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and super enjoyable to be around. We Loved the cooking class the food was amazing. We highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide, Stratos, was the perfect host. He was warm, funny and kind through the whole day especially as we got inebriated and a little more roudy. A warning for those particular on their wines, Santorini whites are either tart whites like a Sauvignon Blanc or a super sweet dessert wine. The tasting at the second winery was punctuated by an impressive charcuterie spread and a jam that everyone in the group bought from the gift store. The cooking portion, while producing an amazing meal, felt a bit long after a day spent drinking. Overall a great experience that I would recommend to almost anyone who has the liver strength to enjoy the day.
This was the most in depth wine tour we have taken. It was not rushed like I thought was normal. We spent over an hour at each winery and tried many varieties. Our guide gave a small history lesson of Santorini and about the wine industry here. The portions of wine were good value, probably 10 glasses of wine over the duration of the tour. The food experience was in depth and educational. It wasnt as hands on as I expected but still kept us involved in the process. Would recommend to family and friends!
