Great place to learn to dive. Everyone was friendly and our instructor Juan was fantastic and calmly took us from novice to PADI open water divers!
Hi, Congratulations again on your diving licence! You did a great job! We hope you stick with it. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Many greetings from Juan and the whole Ocean Trek team.
I completed my PADI Open Water Diver course with Ocean Trek. It was an amazing experience! Very professionally run and lots of fun with great people! Big thank you to my instructor Juan and all the rest of the team! ❤️
Conclusion: The diving school I can recommend without restriction. The Open Water Diver certificate (420€) is good to do in one week. Explanations: I did the Padi Open Water Diver certificate at the diving school Ocean Trek M08/20. I had already contacted Gerhard (boss) via mail before the start of the holiday, also to ask questions about Corona. I then started the theoretical part via eLearning (Padi license 120€ transferred to Gerhard before the holiday started) already at home on mobile phone/pad, so the learning was not particularly stressful. I would estimate the theory part to be 8-12h study time. Most of it is reading once and you understand it. You have to memorize very little, the questions are usually fair. I recommend 1-2h per day. If you have the 50 questions 75% correct, you will have to answer another 20 questions on site at the dive school so that it is ensured that you have taken the eLearning test yourself, so do not cheat with Google in the hotel. The Practical part consists of 4 dives (that is 4 half days), the first consisting of trial diving and the second & third (a total of one day) the required skills are practiced in relatively shallow water. As a teacher, Manuel was in charge of me, who did His cause really excellently. The group size was small. 3 taster divers, 2 teachers and a colleague who took photos. Skills practice first half of the day alone with Manuel, someone else joined in the afternoon. In the 4. Dive about 10 people, of which we beginners were however again two + Manuel in the water. I was always picked up from the hotel and brought back after the dives. If you take a dive in the morning, expect that you will still not be back at the hotel before 2pm. By the way, I noticed that the instructors see more people with shams who never really learned (observed on the last dive). With an average dive depth of 5-10m, probably no one will die, but I was glad that the skills were really all practiced. Another tip: Don't overwork your calf muscles, or they'll cramp easily. And very importantly: Always do the pressure equalization when going down as soon as you feel the pressure even slightly. If you already feel a lot of pressure, go the one meter back up and only then make the equalizer. If you force the pressure equalization with a lot of pressing, it is immensely on your ears and you have then after the 3rd/4th. Dive no more desire because your ears hurt. When balancing pressure, be careful not to overdo it, i.e. not to stretch the eardrum in the other direction. So make the pressure equalization very conscious and slow. There is always enough time for pressure equalization! And finally: Please always take dry things with you, otherwise the car covers will get salt edges. Gerhard's a little thin-skinned. The 2. Moving always takes place at the location. This can be a busy parking lot. I highly recommend you a dressing room poncho and a small extra towel for your feet to put on. The substrate can be very hot and dirty. I wish you a lot of fun
Viele Grüße vom gesamten Ocean Trek Team,
100% recommended , I also became aware of the dive club via the reviews on Google and can award the 5 stars with a clear conscience. For me it was very relaxed that it is a German diving school and my dive license (Openwater Diver ) took place in German. I started with a taster course, which will also be credited if you continue. The instructors were super friendly and adjusted very well to my pace. THE training was based on the principle of explaining , demonstrating , imitating and practicing, which quickly led to success for me. In total I had 5 dives in 3 days where you also saw all sorts of things, e.g. Sepia , Octopus, Sea Turtle, Stingray , Baracudas and a Moraine . I will definitely come back
Even the first contact with Gerhard by email was very friendly. I always received quick answers and all questions were answered immediately. As promised, they picked me up at the hotel, on time, which unfortunately I was not. Again, sorry about that Gerhard. I did the Padi Open Water course with 4 dives. We were at 3 different spots which made for a good change. The care by Nelly and Pauli was very professional and yet warm and friendly. So it is fun to learn new things. The equipment is technically flawless and if something did not work out, you had a solution ready very quickly. What I also noticed, it is more likely to dive in small groups at Ocean Trek (max. 4 people). I've seen other dive schools with 8 people and a dive master, which I find a bit risky. It was definitely not the last time I went diving with Ocean Trek.
Viele liebe Grüße vom gesamten Ocean Trek Team
A perfect and absolutely addictive introduction to the underwater world. A great team (a big thank you to Nelly, Gema + Manuel) and of course the "incomparable" Gerhard, who made the OWD and the AOWD course possible for me with his team in seven days. I'll see you again next year. Best regards :-)
Viele Grüße vom gesamten Ocean Trek Team!
They really mean "Crowd free. Hassle free.". My girlfriend and I got our open water certification completed here and were so lucky to have such a knowledgeable and nice instructor like Gerhard. It's a great small operation not a place where they rush you and you are just a number to them. So glad we found this place, Highly recommend!
Hi Carl, congratulations again to your diving license. You have easily done that. Above all, your buoyancy was just great! Many divers need more time for it. We are sure that you will make many more beautiful dives in the future. As promised, we'll show you the big rays and turtles next time, of course. Best regards and see you soon Your Ocean Trek Team
I made my Open water certificate and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. Everything was explained to me very precisely, shown and I felt very safe at all times! One of my highlights was the dive with the turtles, which made a long-awaited dream come true. I had a lot of fun and will definitely come back. Thanks for the great time:)
Viele Grüße vom gesamten Ocean Trek Team
Super diving school with German-speaking nice instructors who teach you diving in theoretical and practical form. You feel comfortable and safe in your hands. We will not forget this experience and will probably take a diving license in this school.
Viele Grüße vom gesamten Ocean Trek Team, Gerhard
We thought at first that we just wanted to try diving. But it was so much fun for us at Ocean Trek right at the beginning that we are now also proud owners of a diving license. Thanks to the great team around Gerhard and Gema! We fell totally in love!!!
