What a lovely activity to do in Salvador! There was a really great group of ladies and we cooked up some delicious local dishes whilst making cocktails. Karla is a wonderful teacher and I highly recommend this experience.

We loved this immersion into Bahian cuisine, from the market visit with tastings to the cooking class at home. Everything was perfectly organized, and we discovered products, flavors, and traditions that we would not have learned about otherwise. Karla was lovely, passionate, and very generous with her explanations. The class took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The prepared dishes were delicious, and we really enjoyed being able to participate in every step. An authentic, gourmet, and human experience that we recommend with our eyes closed! Thank you, Karla, for the recipes shared, which we will not delay in recreating at home.

Amazing localhood experience - the guide is so funny and heartsome. tried local, unconcentional types of food - vegetarian option is possible. accompanied by Caipirinhas made the afternoon unforgettable.

My husband and I booked a 1-Hour Market Tour and 3-Hour Cooking Class directly with Food & Fun. Due to scheduling, the tour ended up being private - just myself and my husband. From the moment we met her, Karla was fantastic! We toured the market and met many vendors, where Karla shared her expertise in Afro-Brazilian and Bahian food, drinks, and items. We had so much fun on the market tour, until we remembered that we had a multi-hour cooking class next! After getting ingredients from the market, we went to her kitchen, where we made pao de quejio, fried shrimp, fish moqueca, and many other dishes - all while enjoying unlimited caipirinhas! She sent us home with the recipes as well. This tour is great for anyone who enjoys learning about new cultures through great food and conversation when they travel, and the price was more than reasonable for the full-day experience we had. We highly recommend this warm and inviting tour to English-speaking travelers.
